Water Temp: 60-63F

Report: Fished 100% BASS Future Pro with my brother. Caught lots of fish - all barely keepers. Weighed in a real small limit. Small, aggressive fish were fairly easy to find. Could not find the big girls today. Shallow cranks or spinnerbaits on shallow wood cover produced throughout the day, regardless of the tide. A couple came off rip rap banks on the Crawdad SpeedTrap. Only one on a Senko late in the day.
City: Castro ValleyTips: Better fish were hard to find. Deeper and slower presentations are the likely way to go. Pay attention to the weather.

Water Temp: 55-60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Friday and Saturday. Friday landed a 2,3 & 5#. Saturday only caught a good story. Fishing a minnow in Miner Cove and set my rod down in the boat, next thing I know the whole rig went flying into the water. Spent the next hour with a treble hook trying to snag my rod and the monster on the other end. After the ranger came by to check licenses we moved onto the next cove. Feeling sorry for myself, not sure what pissed me off more; losing the fish, my favorite rod and reel or not paying attention enough to lose both, we see a boat heading towards us with a gentleman with his dog holding up a rod asking if I had lost it. After he handed my rig back he opened up his livewell and pulls out a 4.5# fish and says, by the way this was attached to it too. Kind of the fish that got away story, and a hearty thanks to Robin and his dog for giving it a good ending. May his fish be large and bend his pole often.

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 64 F
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: My friend Stephen and I fished the Delta today out of Big Break Marina. We started first at Franks Tract, then moved to Ironhouse Slough, tried 3 mile and ended the day at the Break. I caught two Largemouth Bass, a small dink and a 14-1/2" 1lb 8oz. My friend caught a solid bass about 2 pounds, and a real beauty weighing an even 5 pounds. We tried buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, lipless rattling baits, and jigs, but all our fish were caught on Gary Yamamoto's Senko.
City: Clayton -
Water Temp: 62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished first light to 2 pm and managed to put 17 in the boat. Probably had a respectable limit to 17 lbs or so. Our normal early morning bite was not on with reaction baits, so we pulled out onto flats and anchored. This method seemed to do the trick, as we hit some nice blacks, striper and even a steelhead. Fish were caught on a variety of baits.
City: roseville, caTips: Work flats with deeper water around it. The delta has fish that are on their beds, but also has fish that will not spawn for another month. What makes the delta unique is the fact that the fish are always in different stages and can be caught on a variety of methods.

Water Temp: 66
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: We launched out of Orwood and started in Rock Slough just to the north. Small ones took a red speedtrap but nothing special. We found other active fish on the flats just east of Turner Cut. The bit was slow. Finally we gave up on all that cranked stuff and went to split shotting and Senkos in the back of Cruiser Haven. Fish were stacked up back there in the shallow weeds. Slow fishing with a weenie or a Senko worked. We fished Senkos for the first time and didn't really know what to do but the fish helped us learn.
City: BelmontTips: It seems strange to say go way slow with water temp in the mid 60's but thats what it took.
-
Water Temp: 62-68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: My buddy and I launched at Tiki at around 6:30. We ran to Mildred and had the first fish in the boat by 8:00. We moved around more than we normally do today and caught fish at every stop. We ended up with eight fish. Most of the fish were taken on Senkos. Fishing them very slow to a complete dead stick. The wind picked up horribly at around 4:00 so we pulled out. Caught my personal best fish to date a 5-1/2 lb, 22-1/2 inch TOAD. Gotta love Senkos. Fish were up shallow saw the starting of some beds.
City: ModestoTips: SENKOS what else? Fish them as slow as you can allow yourself to fish them.
