Report: Fished Saturday and part o Sunday. Caught a lot o small spots on top water early and late in the river arm. My only real excitement was catching an 8.5lb cat ish on a silver zara spook ished top water up against a blu. First time I ever caught a cat on top water. As soon as the spook hit the water, it was like an explosion. Great ight. Weather was great.
      City: Foster City

Tips: Saw a lot o small schooling spots thrashing bait ish in the mouths o coves and creeks. They have not move into the back o the creeks yet. Water is still too warm. Get out early and late. Tried several top water lures but the one that worked best was a silver chug bug.

      Water Temp: 70-74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Spent Friday, Saturday & Sunday guiding here this weekend. We were met Friday with overcast and early morning drizzle. Water temperature had dropped signiicantly and we had a steady breeze. Fishing was kinda tough but we did manage 11 keepers rom 3-7 pounds. Best 7 was pushing the 30 pound mark. Not may bites, but they were all good ones. Jigs, big Senkos and blades. Saturday we woke to bluebird skies. Started o with a couple 4 pounders on topwater and then just hammered big ish all day long on jigs. It was kind o the opposite o what I had expected rom the overcast on Friday. We caught huge ish all the way down to 40' through out the entire lake. Best 7 on this day was well over 40 pounds. Included in that was a triple play that saw 3 ish over 7 pounds caught all at once. It was an amazing sight to see all three rods bent in hal, at one time. We got a picture taken that I'll have on my website soon. Sunday the bite trickled o some, but we still managed to catch about 10 keepers, the biggest about 9 pounds and the best seven was over 30 pounds.Great Weekend, ClearLake in the summer/all, sure beats the Delta!
      City: Oakley

Tips: Jigs, 9L SENKOs, Spinnerbaits and white cranks. Think deep, deeper and deeper! Fish em slow and methodical, look er the bait.

Report: I fished the hook tournament on sunday with my dad. We caught about 15 fish all day. 2 on a deep diving crankbait in the morning and the rest on chart spinnerbaits w/gold blades. Only 5 of the fish we caught were big enough to keep. We ended up with 7+lbs for the day. Whenever I caught a fish off a bank I would turn around and troll back down it. Every time I did this it produced another fish, this accounted for 2 of our keepers. For some reason I couldnt get bit on the senko?!?!

      Water Temp: Should it matte

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My suggestion to all o you is to utilize an ancient ishing prayer book. Cause all your GLXs and Calis aren't going to help you at all! Yes, I have seen ish come out o here even past 10lbs, but the inconsistancy o size and numbers is a mystery beyond even the best bullshiters explaintion. How could a lake thats located 10 miles rom both Anderson and Calero be so bad? Here is a theory our devine water district in all their wisdom continues to treat Chesbro as some sort o water shed step-child. Anderson and Calero get allotments o water all summer long to keep the lake levels somewhat stable. While Chesbro gets the shat. In the winter time Chesbro continues to silt, spawning grounds are lost, very little gravel is let and the lake is devoid o cover. Next time you curse at Chesbro think about doing something positive or the lake. I won't tell i I see one o you with christmas trees on your lipping deck and remember olks, rock piles don't always make themselves. Take a resh look at Chesbro and lets see what improvements we can make.

I cranked a nice 2lb 10 oz spotted bass in the main body about 8:30 am. I tried rippin' and was very surprised to land a 1 lb 11 oz CRAPPIE. What a beautiul ish. Then I ripped a bluegill - and put my ripbait away!!! We caught two more spots on Magic worms in the blue ghost color. So, not a bad trip considering how weird the weather has been.
