      Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got 3 LM bass with the lagest at around 1.5 lb. Alder Point and the point behind the island are both very productive. Bass are suspended so dropping shotting is better. Tried senko and crankbait but got nothing.
      City: Richmond

Tips: Roboworm and nightcrawlers work best. Fish deep off points.

      Water Temp: 83

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Thought the night bite would be better with the full moon. Lots of small fish. Tough to get a keeper. Awesome time other wise. There is nothing like being on the lake at night with a full moon.
      City: Fernley,Nv

Tips: Caught fish on all types of lures. Didn't seem to matter if it was a crankbait or jig or texas rig worm. All caight fish.

      Water Temp: 76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished mostly up river above Parrots ferry bridge. Top water popper bite great early on rock walls with wood. Crank bait bite decent mid day when wind picked up. Caught a few on texas rigged worms. Caught mostly small spots. Only two largemouth came up the coyote arm. One about a pound on Norman crank the other a three pounder on t-rigged worm. Where are all those nice 2 pound spots that used to hammer everything? Should I be fishing the main lake? Any advice would be welcome. Tightlines everyone!!
      City: Bishop Ca.

Tips: If you want to get a kid hooked on fishing. Find wood on rock walls upriver, and throw topwater early.

      Water Temp: 77-79

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Big brother and I launched New Hope 7am, missed high tide so went straight to fav tule strips halfway between B&W and Tower Marina/H12 bridge; picked up about 6 or 7 on craw color lipless cranks...couldn't draw interest on speed traps. Bro caught on beaver tail/jighead. I also picked up on darthead/black neon worm, drop-shot/oxblood 6" worm, and senko (confetti kinami and pumpkinseed/chart tail strike king senko lookalike...thought I'd throw something slightly different). Then went up first 1/2 to 1 mile of White Slough; picked up couple more on senko and dropshot...bro got another one on his beaver tail/jighead combo. Forgot how much gas we had (or didn't have) so went back in around 4pm. OK day with lots of dinks and a single limit of 1 to 1.5lbers...hit and miss, no real pattern.
btw..riverat, i was real surprised...this is gonna sound funny, but several ski/board and huge cruiser/pleasure boats slowed down to pass us while we fished...I did the same for other boats....the only boats that didn't slow down as they passed were.........bass boats....and I waved to them and they just looked and ignored me. guess maybe cuz i was in a deepv and not a ranger/triton/nitro/etc etc. oh wait, a couple did wave back. well, sometimes people are concentratin' on maintaining control of their boats while at high-speed, yeah? well, that's one way to look at it so I don't get too upset. :) tight lines everyone. deepv's fish4 and catch bass too!
      City: folsom

Tips: try everything worth trying...every time i turned around, my big bro was changing up...and sooner or later, he was settin' a hook. so be willin' to change up and don't get stuck or limit your options.

Report: I think its safe to say that i am a LEGITIMENT seasoned vet when it comes to fishing Folsom and I dont need to flatter myself and lie to other fisherman to prove my man hood on catching bass on this lake! I have basically fished this lake the same exact way for the last 18 years with great success all year around. This last sunday i told myself i was not going to render to the same patters that i always have and i went out with the mentality to fish places that i have never given second thought to as i drove by to my primary spots during this time of year, which is normally the Northern most part of the lake! I picked up the deepest diving crank bait i had with 12 pound Floro on it and to my suprise i caught the best bass in 18 years fishing this lake! It was a 7.4 pound largy who looked every bit of ten years old and very healthy! I ended up doing really well this time of year on the drop shot odviously but with the kicker it was still only a 12 pound limit with a couple nice spots in the mix! 12 pounds this time of year out here is a great sack and VERY REALISTIC IN TERMS OF WEIGHT FOR 5 FISH! The area i fished was actually between peninsula Campgound and the Pipe along the North Eastern side of the lake up the north arm! There is no secret to the hidden humps and structure in this part but there is normally to much boat traffic to fish it Methodically! The Narrows and Anderson Island are ALWAYS my number one producing spot where the channel comes in contact with the two adjacent points. Always do well here dragging plastics and Top Water in the PM and early AM.
      City: Citrus Heights

Tips: I left my email for anyone who feels the need to ask me questions concerning my day and what i used to catch my limit! Im also not afraid to share my local knowledge (Which happens to be the point of this site) with anyone who loves to fish and wants to catch some healthy Folsom Bass. Try new water.. get out of the normal mind set and give new things a try! I havent thrown a Crankbait on this lake in 10 years and i caught the best bass of my life out here on one! Makes me wonder what ive missed all these years!???

Report: Man, what a trip with you know who, Mr. Folsom himself. I learned more in four hours than I could have learned in 20 years by myself.
      City: loomis

Tips: Drop shotting the way to go in areas I never would have fished, no wonder he is the man.

      Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Put in at 0700. Trolled the channel for stripers. None. Swithced over to blacks. Spent the rest of the day in the channel. Tried all types of top water. Got a blow up on a frog. Caught a smallmouth on a dropshot. Throwin Maverick Ross's receipe. Caught a 2 lb largie on a blue and black rodstrainer jig with a sweet beaver trailer. Bass are on the rocks. Not the wood or flooded timber. Not in the shade. Got a few followers on a DD 22.
There are thousands of yearling bass in this lake everywhere both largies and smallies. Next year should be better.
      City: Redwood Valley

Tips: Find rocks in 15 to 25 feet of water. For a few bites.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On the lake at 0700 off at 1200 noon. Caught 11 bass - nothing big. Caught them on top water (PopR) early. Could not get bit on frog. Caught a few on shallow crank bait, then senko and finally drop shot. Nothing on C-rig or split shot worm. The bite really slowed after 10:30AM. Not a bad day. Talked to another guy in a Tracker that had a tough bite. All my fish were shallow 3-10ft.
      City: Foster City

Tips: Get out early with top water while the overcast is in. Work the weed lines and points. Go to plastics as the sun breaks through.

      Water Temp: 71.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went back today after a disappointing day yesterday. Determined to find out what or where the bite went. Totally different day. Jigs all day today with 11 nice keepers in the boat two of which went in the 5 range. Spent most of the time near Vasquez area hitting the rock walls with a jig in 15-25 foot of water with most hits coming in that 15 foot range up close to the walls.

Nothing at all in the marina area or Whittenburg. wind came up around 11ish and it pulled several boats off the main lake looking for shelter, or on the trailer.
      City: SM

Tips: 1/4oz jigs with a DT hula grub trailer. Stay in the green colors. Blues were not working nor was craw colors.

      Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Hadn't been out since before the 4th of July and thought most of the vacationers would be gone what with school starting and all, but the parking lot was better than half full when I got there at 6:30 A.M. My plan was to fish walls, moving water and shade and I thought I would find all in the North Fork so thats where I went. With the water dropping the way it is I thought the fish would just move up or down as opposed to out. After messing with a top water bait for awhile with no luck I changed to a senko and had some fish bite but not commit to eating it. I switched again to a Reaction Innovations worm in the "Spring Break" color and after missing a half dozen (rusty) I managed to boat 4 in the slot. The shade soon disappeared and the nice breeze I had across the water left as well. I left soon after.
      City: Paradise

Tips: The best bite (if you can call it that) was on the dirt walls as opposed to the rock walls. The smaller baits in lighter colors worked best for me. The cooler weather forcast for this next weekend should make it easier on the angler but not necessarily on the fish. The ramp at Lime Saddle should still be good for another couple of weeks at best. I hope to be out there. Good Luck

Parking lot was about half full when we arrived and about 3/4 when we left, but did not encounter any traffic at all.

Report: Cottage Grove has been decent the last 8 days. I got a 2.11, 17 1/2" on a Pop-R on the 13th. The fish just kinda slurped it under. On the 19th the quality went up! I tossed a 6" swimbait and had a nice one hit it 3 times on the way back. On the 2nd cast it ate it! It was a 4.3, 20" and put up a great fight. Swimbait bite died so tried a Pop-R and a Spook but no takers. Kind of wish I had a jig tied on. I would have tried it next. On the 20th I got there just a bit earlier and it paid off. At 6:15 AM I got a 4.1, 20" bass on the 6" trout swimbait. Got nipped at least twice on the first cast but got the 4.1 on the second cast! Picked up my (Back up) jig rod and tossed it out. Never felt a bite- just went to lift the rod tip and felt pressure and ...set hard. Had to reel like crazy to keep up with that 3.3, 18". Glad it was a 6.3 to 1 baitcaster. On the 21st I got up real early and fully planned on being at the lake no later than 5:30AM. I had to type out a 200 plus word essay on why my friend Jim should win the season tickets to the Oregon football Ducks. Papa's Pizza of Springfield, Oregon is taking votes all next week- check it out and see if you don't agree Jim should get the tickets!! Anyway I didn't get to the lake until 6:15AM again. I hooked into a nice one on the first cast but it was smart enough to swim straight toward me. Saw it thrash on top once and then my bait skipped across 20 feet of surface. If I had gone with my instincts and swapped the trout swimbait onto my Curado/Loomis spinning rod I'm pretty sure I would have netted that bass. I did tie a hitch colored swimbait on that rod before I left the house so after 3 or 4 casts with no nips I switched up. I made 2 or 3 casts with a few minor nips so I tried off to my right from where I've been getting most of my bites and 1/2 way in a 3.5,18 1/2" bass grabbed it! Off to work again with a big smile on my face!
      City: yoncalla

Tips: Tomorrow I am off and I can jam out the door 10 minutes after I wake up. The alarms set for 4:30AM. We'll see if I'm missing the 4.8 to 5 pound fish because I'm a lazy turd! Got both swimbaits on and a jig rod too. Watch out bass!!! Best month of the year so get out and go! The count stands at 42 bass for 136 pounds and 13 ounces. About a 3 1/4 lb. average- I LOVE THIS LAKE!!!!

Report: Started out early with the high tide. Did very will on a small lunker punker between the bank and the weeds. The topwater bite has been on lately. This is my third trip in a week with topwater being the ticket. Lots of solid fish. Did manage to score one Striper to 10 lbs.
      City: farmington

Tips: Work the banks on high tides. work the weed edges on low tides. enjoy the topwater while it lasts.
