Re: new homebuilt rod: Batson Rainshadow finesse
Nice rod, Rick. I myself have built a few Batson Rainshadow rods 12 total from the SW967 that my friend and I use for swimbaits down to the IMB822.5 that I use for dartheading. Had a club tournament this past weekend in the delta and used my 905 Rainshadow flipp'n rod I built to take second on sund...

new homebuilt rod: Batson Rainshadow finesse
I built my first rod when I was in my teens. I was in my teens a long long time ago. 8-) So skip about 30 years and I had done a few guide repairs for friends and myself on our bigger saltwater rods. It never looked all that good really, but the guides were in line with the others and they stayed th...

Thanks to Bob Myskey and his Dobyns Rods we have a convert!
Monday I had a great day on the water with guide Bob Myskey. I love those Dobyns Rods he had for us to use. They are so balanced you don't even feel them in your hand. It is like they disappear. I've got some a friend sent me from Japan. Kevin's page seems to be down but I saved that video. He skips them under docks, and in weeds. He shows 2 ways to rig them. Re: plastics getting hot in the sun and leaving on some weed
Are you talking about burning the fishes mouth? Har! I am just thinking of the most natural presentation. I think a worm that came from the deepest water and the ground down there would be much cooler than one from the bag on your boat in the sun on a 100 degree day. Those are -really- hot. I even ...

plastics getting hot in the sun and leaving on some weeds?
2 simple questions: 1) Do you guys ever worry about putting on a really hot plastic that has been sitting in the sun in a bag on you boat for a few hours? Those worms get pretty hot to the touch by mid day. Do the fish think that as well? If you think that is a problem how do you solve it? Is just k...

It is a really light solid body fly, you could probably use it with regular tackle on light line and a split shot maybe. It looks great and works really well.
