Thumbs up for the MotoStop. I have towed across Hwy 12, Eight Mile Road, and all the train tracks going to Pardee countless times, and I've had no problems.

I have a Cougar with a 225 Opti and a 26 pitch Trophy. When I bought it, it had 2 of the large diameter PVS plugs, and used to wash the prop a lot. I am now running 4 of the mid-diameter PVS plugs, and it corrected the problem. I still have to let off a bit when I am getting out of the hole, but it'...

I want to say thanks to Phillip and Mike VanWagner at Capitol City Marine. My engine was having a problem that had the manufacturer scratching their heads. Re: Which flourocarbon line for spinning reel?

For all the brands of flourocarbon that I've tried, you'll need a large diameter spool to keep 14-15 pound test from uncoiling. My 17 pound flouro doesn't even cast very well on a baitcaster. But, I love the sensitivity. I only use up to 10 pound flouro on the small spinning reels (2500's) and 6-8 o...

I talked with DWR this morning. Same as what Jay said. He said the gravel ramp should work for club tourneys. There is plenty of parking. He wasn't sure if there was a dock. Anyhow, it sounds like we're in business.

Today, at Pardee (a great fishery, by the way :D ), I heard a LOUD noise from the back of the boat. I asked my buddy, "What was that?", and he had no idea. When I stepped on the trolling motor, it had almost no power. Took a look in the bilge to see if something had come undone and noticed...

Re: Another problem….what’s the issue with 2-strokes?

My understanding is that the two-cycle bans aren't really a result of global warming concerns. As was pointed out earlier, with a two-cycle engine, a lot of unburned fuel goes directly into the water. This is not the case with DFI motors, but can be a problem with EFI and the old carbuerated engines...

I don't know about the legality, but I buy needles at a animal feed store on Grant Line Road in Elk Grove. Most feed stores sell them. I think they are .25 or .50 each. Buy the ones with the green sleeve. They are the thicker needles and clog less often.
