Report: Well, you know the other name for this lake 'BLOWPEZ'.

Wind - cold - wind - cold. Bite -- NADA! Well, a good friend in our club tapped a 5-4 near the marina and pretty much that was it and a few buddies also on thwe water today as well stating 2 bites between them and both took the worm but that was all. Not a happy day for sure and looks as if the wind will continue for another day.

      Water Temp: 53-58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: slow until the sun broke over the mountains. Found a reaction bite near Dry Gulch water was 57-58.5 there mid-day. They wanted the big pointer today w/ long pauses in the wind. Tried worming and jigging for nothing. Hit all the usual spots for nothing. Very tough out there but should break WFO in a couple of weeks. Ended the day with 4 fish for 8-9 lbs
      City: Yorba

Tips: Find wind and the warmest water and cover this water thoroughly and slowly only caught fish in a 50 yard stretch. Find one fish and there are more there. Tough part is finding them right now!

      Water Temp: 48-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Cold water temps and change in weather had a sluggish bass bite. A few small spots can be picked up in 25 to 35 feet of water with dart heads and drop shots. Aaron's magic and shad patterns are good color choices.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Just a note to boaters visiting Magi! I took a stop over today to ask the ranger about lake conditions and this is the recent report as of 3PM this afternoon

LAKE SPEED LIMIT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE IS 5MPH!
A huge debri area is covering much of the lake and there are several just-under the surface obstacles. The lake is more or less carmel colored right now with the shoreline showing some clearing. Fridays rain dropped a huge 4 FOOT increase Saturday to the lake so good reason that it is pretty muddy everywhere.

      Just a heads up guys!

      Water Temp: 48o

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: A last gasp dash to finish out the fishing license for 2007.... Acool morning with a slight breeze and clouds making way for the sun I hope. First on the lake this morning with an empty parking lot upon arrival. Heard that the fishing was slow but some decent fish were being taken near Vasquez on the walls in 18 to 28 feet with more fish showing around 40+. Started with a blk/blu jig and trailer bumping off the bottom near the rock walls with little to show. Tried a medium shad crank with no showers either. Switched to a slow rolling creature bait and started getting taps in about 20 feet and 30-40 foot off the edge of a point. Chatted with a few guys out on the lake and one was hitting on a drop but didn't confess to a type so I tried expermenting Finally pulled a good 3 pounder then upon turing around to get my coffee, I slipped on a wet bait and felt the hot pain shoot up my inside left knee. Well, after an hour it started to swell and had problems using the troll motor so that pretty much ended my day and I was off the water and tying up the boat by 9:45.
      City: Santa Maria

Tips: Thinking the weather coming changed habits of the fish and they are still a bit sluggish yet. Warmer weather will help but a big storm is moving in this week and it will help water levels but will probably shut off the bite at least for a while.

In any case -- HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL ---

Report: Caught 15 clone spots..all 12-16 inches. Best bite for me was in the afternoon dragging a 3/4 oz. hula grub in 30-40 feet of water. Suprisingly, they were hammering the jig pretty good. Darter head caught a few as well. All caught in Windy Gap area.

      Water Temp: 48-49 degree's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had 1 more day with the nephews. Got there at 9:30am. Went too grease & got 3 -11 inchers at 43 feet. Went to dam and got 2-13 inch spots and 1- 3 lb. catfish at 40 ft. Out to point across from first ramp and got 6 10-14 inches. 46 ft. Went between 2nd ramp and old road bed by underwater island and found them loaded in there. 32-45 feet. 21 fish in 2 hours. 5 over 15 inches. Just made circles back and forth & kept on them from 1pm to 3pm. Tried a few more spots but fish seamed to be loaded up on the freeway side down to the 2 nd ramp. 33 fish total. left at 4:30 pm.
      City: Visalia

Tips: 3/4 oz. spoons and silver buddies. slow hop. And split - shotting a 6 inch watermelon candy zoom worm. They would not hit the drop shot for nothing. Tight lines.
