Report: Caught 15 clone spots..all 12-16 inches. Best bite for me was in the afternoon dragging a 3/4 oz. hula grub in 30-40 feet of water. Suprisingly, they were hammering the jig pretty good. Darter head caught a few as well. All caught in Windy Gap area.

Tips: 3/4 oz. spoons and silver buddies. slow hop. And split - shotting a 6 inch watermelon candy zoom worm. They would not hit the drop shot for nothing. Tight lines.

Report: The trout are in here also and more people are fishing for them more than bass fishing. Bass are in 18 to 30 feet of water and are hitting on jigs and drop shot rigs. Rock piles points trees brush piles and drop offs are holding bass. Mid morning into the afternoon the bite gets better. Traffic is very light.

Tips: I like drop offs & points this time of year here target and area and fish slow.

Report: Went up at 6 am with buddy mark navarette. Cold and slow. Finally caught a few on jigs. A few on dropshot. Counted 36 boats and so close that when you caught a fish someone would get close by and cast towards you. Need some cold rain to get the cray's off the water. They will drive right next to you on plane or go by between you and the bank. Stay safe and good luck.

Report: A trip to the lopes after a pretty long absence.
A brisk morning when I hit the water and was glad that I had gloves! Certainly needed them today. Headed towards the back by Vasquez and elected to try a jig near the rock walls to the east of the Vasquez inlet. Started with a black/blue set-up with a blue smallie beaver as a trailer. Hit on a nice chunky 2to 2-1/2 pounder then within a few minutes, another nice keeper pushing the 3+ weight. Switched to a Osprey Talon near points but didn't get a hit so went back to the jig. Yanked on another nice 2-1/2 heavy making me happy I went back to the jig selectionMoved off looking for other spots and stopped in the small cove adjacent to Whittenburg but no toakers today. Headed to the back by the bridge but only managed a small smallie. Went back to the dam area and tried a slow retrive smallie beaver with no action. Went back to a brown/watermelon jig and finally got a taker that was pushing close to 4#. Then yikes --- trolling motor decided to give me fits and I called it an early day. Was just a loose set screw that let the gear nut unscrew. Oh well, never know till ya jerk it apart and take a look-see. All in all -- a nice day even if it was short
      City: SM

Tips: Slow retrive a jig near the rock walls. Seem to be where the fish were holding in about 17 to 25 foot. Top water wasn't working yet.

Report: Well thought I would go here to miss the Tule fog over in the big valley but it was REAL bad down here. The ramp and dock was packed with bank fisherman...fisherwomen.So I just fished from the ramp down toward's South Shore with my Electric motor.Threw topwater and crankbait's not one bite.So I ran directly across the Lake and threw a Jig and nothing.Saw a few fish break water and could tell they were Stripr's.Threw Rat-L-Trap,Lucky Craft Jerkbait Shad pattern,Zara Spook nothing.Put on Husky Jerk in Ghost Color and ended up with 9 Striper's all 5lb cookie cutter fish.Fight like heck fun day.
      City: Salinas

Tips: As soon as the fog lift's the bite is over but it was scary thick. The amount of Shad around the Marina is unreal.

      Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Arrived here early and had the boat on the lake at 8:00am. Fished down by the dam. Hardly any wind today. Good fishing, boated 3 large Cats,
and 8 Stripers. Best bait was Anchovies. Stripers wee hitting in the top 10', Cats on the bottom. Very few boats out today, maybe 8 at the most plus a couple jet skis. Left lake at 3:00pm. Kids fishing at the launch ramp were getting nice sized trout (est. 1-2 pounds).
      City: Apple Valley

Tips: Get here early! Bring your own bait to be on the safe side. Office/Tackle Store was closed when we came in to clean our fish, not sure if it was even open today.

      Water Temp: 58-62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water at 8am. Windy and cold. Bright sunshine too. 2-3 boats aready there. 1 - 15 inch across from 2nd ramp to the right by the road. Small school of shad busting over there till 9. Fished the point from 1st ramp with about 8 other friends and bullshitted for an hour or so. 1 fish there and them caught 3 little baby's off the dam. That houseboat still sunk against the dam shure looks perdy. 5 m.p.h. buoys line out across the lake from the marina so you have to get off plane and tickle on thru till they fix it. This lake has too much pressure on it. Looked across at 10:45 and counted 19 boats all on the same holes that everyone in tulare county knows about. I don't mine but that awesome bite of years past will not come back till we get some good water years. Tight lines and good fishing.

      Water Temp: didn't check

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Excellent fishing! Not sure why but everyone else complained that it was hard, and called it the dead sea. We seemed to catch fish anywhere from 2' to 60' Spoons, dropshots, and jigs. Go point to point on the main lake and look for bait with fish slashing from 15-60'. Drop spoon and hold tight, red hooks seemed to help, but not sure if the feathers helped or not. Big Brown and purple jigs with super hog trailers in 47 feet worked well.
Fish are FAT and heavy, barfing shad. We probably caught 40 keepers and 20 shorties.
Shad colored dropshot worms with a #4 or #6 nose hook

Tips: Look for bait and jerk a spoon above and below the bait.

Then on wednesday the 11th took my buddy robert. started slow and took off from there. 30 fish with a 6.8 lb kicker. Filmed on the camcorder. Now how's that for 5 trips. Had the boat in the shop for 2 1/2 weeks for repairs. Can't keep running at 70 mph all the time. could cost some money. But it's hauling the mail again so tight lines and good luck.
