      Water Temp: 70+

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went to do the full moon thing. Caught a decent one(1 1/2+) in the daylight. Almost had a topwater bite going for a minute. First cast with a chug bug produced a bite. He was pulling good so I know he was a good one but he came unbuttoned. Another cast in the other direction produced another strike. But not enough to keep me interested after that. Took the moon a while to make it's appearance over the dam. Bite seemed to get better after that. Caught 6 or 7 cookie-cutter 14" models once the moonlight hit the water. Caught a few sub-10". Finally got the kicker probably around 11:00 p.m. He might of gone 4+ on a good day. But he was a little on the thin side.
      City: Bakersfield

Tips: Majority of the fish came on 4" Margarita Mutilators and some other 4" puple worms I had. Also, caught 2 or 3 on 7" watermelon wacky-wormed Senko.

      Water Temp: Warm

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Night trip again. On the water at 5:00 p.m. or so. Fished the kincaid cove area with nothing to show but dinks for the effort. Went to the damn dam second and caught more of the same dinks up shallow. last stop at about sundown was lure point. Lure point had some topwater action for a brief time and then split shot took over. The west side of the point on the secong buoy was producing a few fish. There was even some that looked like regular sized bass. 9:00 p.m. mosquitos told us to leave.
      City: Tehachapi

Tips: 4"Purple (fat sack) worms on the west side drop-off of lure point. I sure do see alot of people fishing on the lake, but no one posts. POST !

      Water Temp: 75-78

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got on the lake at about 6:45 and started to use Zara spooks (puppy) in the coves but only got one bass about 3 pounds. So my buddy and I thought the water temperature would be good for crankbaits, but we only got 2. So when i looked over at my buddy he was using some weird looking Yum bait its supposed to be a great flipping bait and i think its called yum woolie hawg or something like that and it was in the watermelon color. His first cast he caught a nice 4 1/2 pounder, so i immediatly switched over to the texas rigged bait. The first few minutes of me using the bait i got a huge 6 pounder!! So we ended up catching 8 big fish for the day.
      City: Castaic

Tips: When fishing fast moving lures and nothing is working, switch over to soft plastics along the same areas where you previosly used your fast moving lures and see the results!!

      Water Temp: 78

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished lagoon. Bite was very slow. I missed the morning bite by ariving at 8, but don't think it would have made a difference. Encountered lots of weeds. Fished shallow, fished deep, fished slow, fished fast, split shotted, drop shotted, through cranks, through spinners, all with little luck. Caught two small fish split shotting Fat Sack lightning shad on the dam. Graphed stacks of schooling fish at 35 feet but couldn't get them to bite. Other boaters I talked to had the same report.

Spotted lots of bait fish and fingerling bass.
      City: Tehachapi

Tips: Post reports. Those of you reading this benefit from the posts, allow other to benefit from your fishing. Avoid the lagoon, fish Fat Sack.

Report: 6:00 a.m. start at the dam and only small fish were caught on split shot. Headed under the bridge and worked the South wall throwing senkos. A 3.5 was caught right up on shore with a lemon/white senko. More fish were caught on the wall with split shotted worms. Wind took control at 10:30 and we split.
      City: Tehachapi

Tips: Senkos on the rock wall, split shot. Purple 4" (Fat Sack) worms.

      Water Temp: Warm

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water at about 9:00 a.m. Went into the first cove in the fish arm and caught some decent fish on drop shot (3" Fat Sack Clear lightning shad). Went all the way back in to the shallow water of the cove and started catching buzz bait fish. Threww the buzzbait all the way down the bank and caught a couple good fish. More drop shot fish came around noon. Hard to throw the split shot because the fish are biting the lead on the way down!
      City: Tehachapi

Tips: Top water Top water and more top water!

      Water Temp: 75-80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: My buddy and I went out on a weekday and the lake was quite busy. We started out fishing coves; and using zara spooks. Caught the bass in the back of the coves where there was sand and weedbeds. At about 9 bite slowed down and we started to use rapala jointed shad rap's and we ended up catching 7 nice 2-5 lb. bass. Look for the water depth to change dramatically (dropoff), at this time of the year the bass will use this type of structure for a transition period, throw your lure parallel to the break and be ready!
      City: castaic

Tips: Use small topwaters in the morning, and when using the cranks, match the size and color to the baitfish, and bring them in S.L.O.W.

      Water Temp: 73-75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: This report is for Lower Castaic!!! Very slow bite now that the water is warming up. Fish are surficing but topwaters for some reason are not working, use 6-7 inch roboworms either Texas or split shot rigged in about 20 -40 feet of water and bass are bitting the worms HARD. If you choose too drop shot, use the 6 inch aarons magic or oxblood red flake and just let it sit still. Good luck!!
      City: Castaic

Tips: Use soft plastics and fish them slow!! I fish this lake just about every other day, I fish in a bright orange bighorn float tube and come say hi if you see me on the water!! Good luck

      Water Temp: n/a

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took my 13 tr old son out to Pine Flat monday afternoon and found the cold water line up river with bass and trout on top hitting shad. wide open bite on jerk baits for both. Spent the night on the boat in 40 ft just past that water line. Found a great trout night bite with a floating light and crickets, I'm talking 3 to 5lb big bows. we also had a catfish pole out and couldn't keep it in the water over 15 min with out a big cat. We then found a flat in the same area in the am loaded with nice bass hitting my favorite keeper 1010 tx style. I catch more nice spots on a keeper 1010 than anything on Pine Flat, it must be the sparkle tail. All in all a great outing my Son and I will cherish for years to come
      City: Visalia

Tips: Night bite 40ft water with floating light and crikets. I bought my light at big 5 which clamps to my battery, very nice, lanterns turn your night fishing into bug city. I let all my fish go so you can catch them again...

      Water Temp: warm

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Started fishing at approx 6 o'clock. Went straight to the dam and the first three casts were all good fish. We had drop shotted and split shotted 3 fish that went over 2.5. Bite got slow at the dam and we headed for the mouth of the cove by the overpass. Caught a bunch of dinks and there was one fish that probably went 3.5 on a black crankbait. Bite died at dark, went to lure point and the wind picked up.
      City: Tehachapi

Tips: Get out and fish! And when you do post your results. Lightning shad fatsack worms, purple straight tails and crankbaits.

Report: When fishing shaver for small mouths, no matter what size or weight, take them out. Catch a whole load of em' and have a nice meal. The baby small mouths feed on plankton which takes away from the kokanee's food supply. By doing this we will get much bigger kokanee. Small mouths were never native fish to Shaver. Thanks

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well, the morning started off very slow. The last two times I've been there, as seen below, I've done okay. I went to the same spot and pretty much nothing. Only two crappie in two hours. Oh, I was at the French Gulch Marina. So i moved to Boulder Gulch. found a great spot by nice trees and boom! Fish after fish!!! Woohoo. My aunt and uncle drove 3 hours to fish crappie and at first I was afraid. But with this new spot, it was on. We all pretty much caught our limits. We left with 100 plus fish. it was a great time, once we moved.
      City: Bakersfield

Tips: Same as before!!! But generally it looks like they like it in warmer water.

Report: A green day at the lake the same algae bloom I saw last year. The fishing was marginal we caught 13 in 5 hrs. Most were small and caught on pro worms #6 with red flake and all but one was a spot. My son caught the lone large mouth about 2lbs. It was hard to find the fish but I think because of the algae the were in the rocks mostly. Lot's of very small fish...

Tips: Fished with texas style worms and dropped them from shelve to shelve....one hit on top water about 7:30..but missed him.
