Water Temp: 73.4
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Tri Valley Meet -- 39 boats on hand -- Foggy start but sun out and a warm 84o by weigh in. Last boat out as we pulled the 'calling boat' draw [payback from 1st out last time]. Hit the banks and coves and partner scored a crank fish on 2nd cast but it bailed off early. Moved off to some other coves near Snake Creek and scored a nice 16" on a Baby Bass Senko. Nothing hitting on cranks so picked up the dropshot rod. Scored - scored - scored. Five casts, 3 spots. Robo Oxblood red flake in the mudline was workin! Had a limit by 11:45 but could not cull any. Everything after 12 was too small. In with 6, and one floater [drats!] for a 7.48 on the day. One guys in weigh line had a beast large mouth in the sack and would go at least 5 if not a 6 pounder. Tied everything down and headed home. Still, a decent day.
City: SMTips: A tip for Tri Valley fishers. Get a Black fish bag! ********************
All except one keeper was on dropshot in the mudlines close to banks. One jig fish was and a few on Chigger Craw shaky head

Report: Finaly got a boat and hit the lake. Bass have yet to spawn. Trout trollers were all doing well. I was skunked for 5 hours until the wind picked up and I limited (released) in 30 minutes on a blade. Sherrif was laying bouys all day and we all know that means goodbye Bass lake 'till fall.
City: OakhurstTips: Fish from shore, the Sherrif is in the water. The budget is tight and he needs to write tickets.

Water Temp: 66-71
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Visalia Bass had a tourney on Saturday. Most of the teams were able to scrap out limits but the big fish were hard to come by. Several in the 5 lb range were caught but putting a quality limit together was difficult. 12 lbs and change won the tourney with 7 lbs being middle of the road. Huge turnout with over 50 boats competing. Most fish were caught shallow and on worms, lizards, sencos or other plastics fished in a variety of ways.
City: VisaliaTips: Fish slow moving baits and be patient. Expect to catch a few fish but don't expect great numbers.

Had to fish rxn baits fast in ultra clear water. Could have caught smaller bass on plastics all day. Bite was a little slow when wind wan't blowing.
City: clovisTips: The ramp at Deer Creek does not have a lot of parking now that the water is coming up, so if you are not their early good luck competing for a parking spot.

Water Temp: 61.3
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Tri Valley Meet::: 47 Boats on hand for what started to be a great day as we got first out with a #39 boat draw. Yehaw. Proved fruitless as 1st stopped netted NADA so we moved off to second stop. Still a hard go of it with maybe 20 little guys but 11", 12-7/8" aint cutting it today. Wind came up and made fishing tough as was the call for many. Some good heavy bags hit the scale today but we exited before it was over. Why they call it 'fishing'. Very Tough day with 1 in the well. Sad...
City: SMTips: Dropshot took our only keeper. Senkos failed to produce anything big. Heard swims took some big bags.

I pulled 200 feet off the ramp and start throwing a rattle trap. Got Hit 1st cast, trout on 2nd cast. looking for boils and casting to them. On my 6th trout ( throwing them all back in) i have a 7 inch trout on and Big momma comes up from behind 15 ft from the boat. I'm like OH S**t. The bass is huge. 11-12lbs easy. i try and move the trout away and she opens up and trout GONE!. I hit my button and wait a few seconds and light her up. Boom there she goes in a circle and comes back the way she came up. headed straight for the boat she opens her mouth and spits my trout right in front of me. i watch her swim away. WOW! The guy in the gregor boat is watching in disbelif. He could not belive i lost it. Glad i did but what a cool 3 minutes. Left and went by dam & grease cove and hit 8 bass up to 3 lbs on senkos and baby brush hogs. left at 3pm.

Report: A visit to try a new jig from my lure maker in North Carolina. Hit Vasquez and tied on a Blu/Blk ZG Jig with a matching trailer from Trigger X baits. One small fish and missed the second. Switched to the Red Craw ZG Jig with a watermelon trailer and scored on a nice smallie. Worked the walls near the Miracle Mile without a hit so moved off to the cove left of Whittenberg and scored another good 2-1/2 pound smallie and a decent 3-4 LG. Seems to work good with this new '1 foot ever 3 sec fall rate rather than 3 feet a second normal jig fall rate.
