Most ish were 1lb. to 2lbs. Had a couple on that would go 4 or 5 but they came unbottoned. Was sightishing till the sun got really high. Lots o bass ry in the rocks getting chased by bigger ish. Couldn't catch ish on topwater or cranks though. All ish came on 3" to 6" plastics in 1t. to 20t. o water.

Report: went up today and had a pretty good start, but it didnt end up that way. the wind started howling just ater sun down. it was pretty bad, whitecaps and all. we lost our patients at about 9 or so, so we let. all together i think we caught 7 or so and lost a couple. one might have been a bigger ish couldnt tell. it had weight but it wasnt ighting untill it got to the boat and then it tugged real hard and came unbuttoned. this ish was hooked on a brown jig with a grub trailer on the dam. the rest were caught on rubber worms. we only ished or about 2 and a hal total. so it wasnt that bad i guess. see you up there. catch and release.
City: visaliTips: most o our ish came right beore dark back towards horse creek. i the wind dies down the night ishing might kick in

Report: Went out with a buddy ater work, got on the water about 4:00. He stuck a nice 4 pounder right o the bat drop shotting a drop rom 3 to 15 t. Then we ished the trees in the north end, nothing. Went to some riprap and caught a ew more, about 2 pnd average. Kinda slow. Last hal hour o light and hal hour into dark we sat on the same spot we started on and caught about 15-20 ish, all about 2 pnds. They had moved up onto the lat. Strong ish, some ooled us into believing they were bigger, good little ighters.
City: HanordTips: With the water temp so high, we thought we could get a reaction bite going....NOT. Went to dropshoting and it was only a pressure bite, rod just loaded up.

Report: Took the wie out, got there irst light. Central Valley was having a tournament so the ramp was pretty busy. Headed out beore the crowd. The wie caught one blade ish right o, then nothing else on that spot. Went to the next and OH YEAH!!!! Stuck a 12 pnd 9 onc PIG on my splitshot rig, 8 pound test!!!! She was still ull o eggs. Took her to Sierra Bait & Tackle or an oicial weight, then brought her back to the spot and let her go. She was strong and healthy. The rest o the day was just O.K., about ive more ish, two pound average. Only took 11 1/2 to win that tourney. Some one o these days I stick ish like that in a tourney!!!
City: HanordTips: Despite what I heard rom riends, I don't think most o the ish have spawned. Fish the transition spots SLOWWWW.

Castaic Lake

Water Temp: 62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well, there's good news and bad news. The good news is anyone can catch ish just walking the bank still. The bad news is the bigger ish have moved out to deeper water now. For some reason they have really dropped the water level way too ast and too soon given the time o year! In just this last week the lake has dropped another 10 t. I hope the ry get to hatch beore the eggs ind themseleves rying in the sun! Mysel and one riend caught 9 ish but they were smaller males in the 1 to 2 lbs class. I your in a boat I would say, be on guard, I saw some very careless driving with skiers in tow!! And summer has'nt even started yet!! Good luck!
City: los AngelesTips: Once again the best bite was early in the a. m. By 11:00amthe bite starts to die o. We used nightcrawlers and small plastics. The boat traic is really up, which will create mudlines, which in turn will be an advantage later this summer. Were getting to the "post spawn" stage already and it's going to slow down or a while.

Castaic Lake

Water Temp: 58
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Once again, here's the report or anyone walking the bank. The ish are still on the spawn and are in close or now. The un part is you can score on a big ish i you just keep casting! Mysel and two riends ished rom 10am until 2pm ( I know, I know, very late start) with the best part o the bite in the irst hour. We scored a dozen ish with the big ish o the day scored by my riend Joe at a even 5lbs, nice ish! Once the water started to dirty up( in the hot summer that's a good thing ) rom all the boats zooming around, (which had to be about a million!) the bite died o
City: Los AngelesTips: Once again, we opted or most o the day to use live nightcrawlers and lite line. Most people I saw were making one mistake out there. You HAVE to move your rig along the bottom!! You won't do very well just throwing your worm out and just sitting there! See you on the bank!
