      Report: Started at 7pm. Jimmy had two blow up on frogs in Mountain Spring. On the outer edges of the mats.
      Picked up one dink in Rock Creek on a wacky rigged senko. Nothing from 8:30pm to roughly 12:30am. Picked up a 3lb agin in Rock Creek in 20 feet of water. i fished a 1/2 ounce Patrol jig with pork trialer. Jimmy picked up two more dinks at the lauch ramp around 2am with a jig as well.

      Tips: We tried to fish the spillway but the insects were too much to handle. The black light must of attracted every bug on the lake. We did meet a nice couple that caught a few in Jackson Creek on a Senko Swimbait. Just wished I had a swimbait with me.

      Report: spent 4 days on the lake- fishing mostly the konocti area. mornings didnt seem to produce as much as the evening. averaged about 5 fish per outing in the evening. threw mostly senkos all fish were in the 4lb range, one over 5.
      best part was catching a 10lb 4oz cat off the senko!!
      a little slower than i expected but still great to be out on the water

      Report: Fished Konocti and Jago 24th and 25th for a decent bite. Found fish shallow early in 1-6 ft, moving outside the main grass into 10-15 ft once the sun was high. Active fish in the early morning eating the frog and the fluke. Went to the Bluegill pattern swim jig for the deeper fish.

      Report: Fished by the dam and also by the boat ramp. Results were fair to good Black bass are good on jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs and swimbaits worked shallow early in the day then from 10 to 15 feet in the weeds later in the day

      Black bass are good on green pumpkin plastic worms and lizards and firetiger crankbaits from 6 to 10 feet. Fish early in the morning and late in the evening for the best results
      bouncing tubes, lizards and Brush Hawgs in watermelon and green pumpkin colors is working well for Black Bass . Smallmouth Bass are good on Zara Spooks and 3-inch swimbaits off of the main lake points and from mid-lake to the dam early in the morning.

      Largemouth bass are good on Texas-rigged worms and jig-head worms; watermelon seed, green pumpkin and watermelon candy are the best colors

      Tips: Try a Texas- or Carolina-rigged worm, deep-running crankbait or jig with a Green Pumpkin trailer later in the morning from 15 to 25 feet deep

      Report: Hey guys. Guess who? After being back in Maine for over a year now, it looks like I'm finally going to get back home in early August, at least for a couple of weeks. Man, I'm missing seeing that beautiful lake full again. I came back to Maine to raise some funds for my Mom's health care last June. Things were going well until Dec when Mom passed away at the age of 93. Now I'm all wrapped up in settling her estate.
      Anyway, if you happen to see a green and white Skeeter with a 175 Yammy on back, stop by and let me know what's happening. I'm gonna feel like a newby after all this time away.

      Report: What was the previous report about? I guess he is talking about Almador, har! I just got back from Almanor (2 days) and found the smallie bite to be pretty good overall. I caught many, many bass from 6 inches to 3 1/4 lbs. I kept my boat in Big Cove and fished the east shore and west of Big Cove - about half a mile. The bite Wed late afternoon was as good as I have seen in several years. The wind came up big time and so did the quality smallies. The first two I caught were 3 1/4 lbs and 2 lbs 10 oz. Wow! The bite was off the chart - most of them from 1 1/2 lbs to 2 1/4 lbs. I was just fishing docks - right near the rocks. The fish were shallow and eating!! This started about 6 pm in whatever shadows I could find. About 7:30 pm the bite started to slow and I started to miss a few. About 8:30 pm, when the bite should have gotten better, the wind calmed down and the bite died!! I caught about 25 in that 2 hr period and lost about 10 more. My 5 best were about 12 1/2 lbs. The other morning bites and first evening were pretty good also - but only one 2 1/2 lb smallie of good size.

      Tips: I used brown 5" Senkos with the chartreuse tips just before dark Tues evening and they worked well. During the day and during the "great' bite, I used the 6" Robo worm - gradually bitten down to 5 inches after several bites. The morning dawn w/chartreuse tip was by far the best color. As it got darker, I switched to MMIII. Also caught a few on small green pumpkin Berkley Chigger craws. I was using a #1 Gami hook with small bullet weight.

      Report: Friday, 6/24/11. The day got hot with the air temperatures going above 80º by the end of the day. The water temperature was 75 - 78º. I guess these conditions caused the bite to be tough all day. After trying different baits and colors, we started catching fish drop-shotting a 4 inch shad color Alive Shad RoboWorm. Most of the 11 fish we caught were around points with deep water near by. Most were in the 1 to 2½ lb. range and included all three species of bass. We also had several bites on Senkos. My buddy hooked and lost a large bass – estimated to be well over 3 lbs – on a Texas rigged Senko. Contrary to where we caught most of our fish, he hooked this big fish next to debris covered water back in a cove. This was after I had thrown a wacky-style Senko a couple of times to the same spot. In calm areas, we could still see small schools of fry but the fry are much bigger than those I had reported on earlier in the month.

      Tips: Some bass can still be found in shallow water with some cover. Cast more than once to these promising areas.

      Report: Started fishing around the big island using a Robo Worm/Drop Shot...3rd cast landed a 4.5 lb spot, five casts later hooked what appeared to be a 7+ lb had him close to the boat ready to pull him in when he chose to muscle up took a hard drive, straightened out my owner hook and ultimately snapped the hook in half...first time I have had a owner hook do that. Caught six keepers and missed three out good bites. Caught all fish between 8 to 12 feet

      Tips: Fish the cuts and points and don't forget to work both sides of the point.

      Report: On the water @830am at New Hope and went straight to our favorite tule strips around the corner from B&W; fished mainly craw speedtraps and 1/4oz red eye shad lipless. Between my big bro and me, maybe caught 25, mostly 1 lbers and some dinks but we managed a few nice 2 lbers, bro's biggest was 2.10 and mine was 2.8, the others were right at 2. Used stop and go and quick pumps on the rod to simulate a craw retreating...they hit alot on the stop or the pump, hardly any hit on just a retrieve. quit at 1:30pm to beat the friday traffic! good day!

      Tips: fished just outside the weedlines but also found them away from the weedlines toward the middle/open areas. fished mainly 6-11ft. used stop and go cadence on both speedtraps and lipless. keep tension on the lipless when you stop for a couple seconds to feel any hits.

      Report: Wow, is what I have to say! This place is on fire bed fish at the end of June?? That's what going on they are everywhere on the Lakeport end. I didn't find a lot of big ones that wanted to bite yet, but the males were on it. The 3-4 pounders were on the chew and the bigger females were setting up, and biting now I'm sure.

      Tips: If they don't bite fast move on there are plenty that are biting. Check around all the deep dock poles for the bigger fish. The drop shot was a great rig for getting them to eat fast. Don't forget to pitch in the deeper grass holes as you are looking for beds.

      Report: With 8 out of the last 11 days my trips have been from single clients to three generations. All shave been very exciting and all have been in the uper part of the lake. From mid slot to the North and West Branch. The patterns that were most productive were spooks in eary morning, senkos in shade lines and dart head worm and senkos later in the morning and early afternoon. Lots of other patterns are also working as, blades on bushes, flukes and other jerk baits under hanging trees, and jigs on walls and points. Many bags consistes of pre-spawn, spawning and post spawn bass. Many of the bags were up 11-lbs+ and some of the bass were in the 3lb range. Several really nice large mouth but mostly spotted bass. We had lots of laughs high-fives and good times.

      Tips: We targeted main and secondary points with steep walls next to them and the walls next to the points. Coves with springs, over hanging trees and bushes exposed or submersed.

      Report: Fished with my dad from just before sunrise to about noon. Main lake was the best with jigs and senkos. We caught about 30-40 bass, but most were dinks. The river was a lot colder and we only had a few bites up there.

      Report: Fished with Bobby Barrack on Monday throwing sencos,chatterbaits and of coarse frogs, we caught some two and three lbrs through out the day. This guy is awsome, easygoing nice guy but when he is explaining things to ya hes definatley intence. Learned alot about fishing frogs,the prespawn and post spawn, cant wait to take that new knowlage and apply it on my water

      Tips: We fished 13 hours, this was money well spent, not because the amount of time we fished but the knowlage gained....priceless.

      Report: it was 70 degrees at 5am.. launched out of big break. fished franks tract.. 2 of us bagged 7 fish. lost 2 big ones.. plenty of little ones. they bite only on worms... wind picked up around 10.. time to get out of the water.. SO HOT... maybe fish under docks or shaded area for bigger bass??

      Report: Water is clear, weeds are growing, lots of fish to be caught! I see lots of big fish cruising around and are active in the tules and beds. The summer pattern is here, its hot, high 90's... Topwater action has been looking good!

      Report: Still Rainbow Trout to be caught by the dam. Not to mention fish were hitting the surface all day, but took none of my topwater lures. We ended up catching 3 Rainbows even though it was 95 degrees out. Not too big but they put up a respectable fight. Boat next to us caught 7 just that evening. Tried for some bass too, and came up with nothing.

      Tips: Power Worms/egg combo dipped in scent was the key. Eager to see how we do with Catfish later this week, people next to us also caught a pretty huge catfish

      Report: Fathers Day Fishin' with my two sons.. Couldn't be better ! Lake Mendocino is ON right now. Caught 13 bass all on the west side of the lake.. We would have had more but we were out to just have a good time, goofing off. Man, small mouth fishin' is the best ! Those little guys really won't give it up ! sweet beavers - brushhogs - white spinnerbait & crankin' all worked for us.
      City: Ukiah, CA.

      Tips: Be ready, the fish are close to the shore. Some will hit the lure when it hits the water.

      Report: Went fishing with my wife & boy's for Father's Day, it was hot with wind in the morning. Fished the south end in the morning catchng only a few fish and with it being Fathers Day... I caught the first fish. Then we went north and my boy's preceeded to show me how it's done, with my older son getting 6 fish and my younger one getting 4 fish (a 6lb & a 3lb'r) All fish were caught on Drop Shot, bait had to be right up next to the structure, green weenie & oxblood roboworms. the big fish were caught in the back of the coves in Cherry Creek, looking like they were getting ready to spawn. It was a great Fathers Day to have my boy's whip my butt.

      Tips: Tried all kinds of baits, Swim, Jig, Senko (Wacky & Texas), Spinner Bait, tubes & Drop Shot. Backs of coves that didn't have water coming ing in. If you see fry & Sun fish then the big are there.

      Report: It seems this lake is devoid of life since they keep spraying the non existent weeds. I guess lake management doesn't realize how the bass fisherman contribute to there economy. No fish, no bites. You can usually catch little guys, but it appears the Comorants have done away with them, noticed the birds don't seem to be around either. Good Luck!

      Tips: Talk to the Rangers about the fishery and let them know how much it has been effected by the spraying. If everyone says something maybe they will take notice. Not to mention they are putting chemicals into the run off creeks of native steel head which are a protected species. I'm just hoping to catch a bass, but I guess that's not going to happen.

      Report: Normaly I do not fish berryessa after the first week of June, but with the late running spring I thought I would give it a try. I am glad I did the bite was the best I had all year as far as numbers. Started with topwater and had 3 fish on the first 5 casts. The topwater kept up till 8:30 then it died. Went to the east side and started fishing any place where deep water swung close to the shore. The bite was slow picking one or two for stop. Then the wind picked up and pushed the bait up on one of the spots and it went off for close to a hour it was a fish on every cast including a SM that went 21" on the board did not have my scale to weigh.After that I just looked for bait and kept on the fish. Over all a great day had over fifty fish off the water around 2 best 5 at 15+ this bite might hold up for a couple more weeks.

      Tips: Burn as much water in the morning for the topwater, spots on the points LM in the wood. After that look for the bait and follow the wind once you find that the drop shot is hard to beat.
