      Water Temp: gotta be 50??

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Spent about 3 hours over 2 mornings last Thursday and Friday giving Cottage Grove one last try. Tossed a small swimbait, a large jerkbait and a jig/beaver. Basically froze my butt off for nothing. No bites and no fish! Too many chores to tend to so the kayak stayed in the garage. Spent a couple hours going through my tackle. Got it all organized and found a couple swimbaits I'd stashed. Also inventoried my jig and beaver supply and I've got plenty to last 'till next May/early June. Finally finished doing a complete inventory of all the rods and reels. Over the next 3 months I'll work on lubing and cleaning all the spinning reels and maybe send another batch of Shimano baitcasters off to Dan at ReelEx. Middle of next February I'll be ready to "Say hello to my little friends" at my favorite lake. Have a great winter!!

Report: I have been fishing Cachuma for the last month. I have done nothing but spoon. My last trip was the best with a 5 lb. 9 oz. largemouth and a 12-13 pound limit. The jig bite is coming on now and we'll have to watch the weather and tie on accordingly.
      City: Ojai

Tips: 3/4 oz. chrome spoon with a red hook from 20 to 45 feet...some jig fish on 1/2oz brown/ purple with yamamoto twin tail to match

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Woke up late didn't get to the launch 'til 8..fished the marina got one on the darter head right away..threw the texas rig got one but missed the set..no fish for a few hours..got one on the spoon..got a nice large mouth on the drop shot..missed a big hit on the carolina rig..came home before 2..started to get windy on the main lake..
      City: Fresno

Tips: bring extra darter heads!!..bite is soft if you are finessing..water seems to be slowly rising..stay a little further out the bass don't seem to getting used to it yet..so they're still out there deep..was cold the whole day so layer up especially when running the big motor..

Report: Two of us fished from 0900 - 1400. Went south,
water was stained to milky. Fished the stickups and banks before and after the bridge, nada.
Heeding T2's advice went to dropshot. Picked up 4, biggest only 1.6 off of main lake points east side, using MMIII's in 20' of water.

Good luck to you tournament guys!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched from Markley Cove with my kids and started fishing around 8 am. Picked up a Duh! Spoon prior to launching...I'm not a spoon fisherman, but thought I would give it a try since I've read so many articles and reports referring to them. (Sounds like the thing to do to pick up those staging bass). Picked up my first spot on a spinner bait in a couple feet of water along the rip rap. Picked up my next three on the Duh! Spoon in coves and drifting across points. Picked up my fifth spot on a crankbait while searching for baitfish in the 30-40 ft range...trolling it from cove to cove. Ended the day drifting near the dam wondering if I could pick up one of those fish showing up on my graph in 100+ feet of water. Fish were showing up between 60-100 ft. Pitched the Duh! Spoon over and pulled up a nice rainbow to end the day. Made the mistake of going into the main body of water to checkout skiers cove at mid day. White caps everywhere! 3 to 4 ft waves. A couple bass boats were already there so I turned around and fished between the main body of water and Markley Cove all day. Best 5 went 7.5 lbs.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: If you don't own a spoon, pick one up and give it a try. I recommend Morning Dawn.

Report: Started out in the turning basin and cranked a couple of small ones while watching a sea lion eat about a 15lb salmon. Moved into Turner Cut and onto Mildred. Caught a few more on a drop shot senko GrnPkn/Blk but no size.
Total of about 15 fish with nothing to brag about, biggest about two pounds.
Punched mats here and there with not bites! Tough
      City: Hilmar

Tips: We threw buzz baits, crank baits; craw and blue gil colors, drop shot, Senko's wacky and punched.
Most of our bites were on or near the main channel. I think you need to stay near the main channel and be looking for cuts with current right now.

Report: Fished the Sonora Bass Club tourney on Saturday. 20 boats with all catching fish, but only about 8 limits. Top 3 teams had 13+ pounds for 7 fish, with most bites coming on plastics drop shot in the 25 to 40 foot range. Dead stick (very little movement)seem to work best. Most fish are suspended and tricky to catch. Fish your graph and fish verticle.
      City: Sonora

Tips: Baitfish are real small (1 - 1 1/2 inches) and drop shotting small white/natural color plastics seemed to work best. No reaction bites (tried top water and ripping)!

Report: the red bluff bass anglers club used to do a tourny on this lake. i know several people interested in a toury here. after all is our local lake and the local clubs would have affordable tournaments with a great tourn out if they would fish here year round. people wold not struggle so much here if they would fish it more often... they would realize how great this lake really is.
      City: red bluff

Tips: there r huge fish here.. i have caught bass on on every thing in the boat here all year long.

Report: took a couple buddies that only fish from shore for whatever. started throwing cranks without a bite. started fishing points in main body heading up creek. not getting bit at all. finally looked on graph and saw monster school of smelt. so much that u could almost walk on them. then the jig bite went off. they couldnt get bit so we hooked em up a darter head and a drop shot. well the drop shot picked up fish all day darter head zero. switched other guy to drop shot and finally he hooked up. i got limit about 9 lbs best 2.5 jig and drop shot. the guy who never caught a bass before caught his limit dropsshotting and is hooked on it. the other guy just liked setting the hook alot. usually nobody home. but he did get one fish and broke off a 3+ at boat. bummer. never flip in a three pounder on six pound test. oh snap!
      City: plumas lake

Tips: find bait find fish. bellies and mouths full of smelt. jig in brn and purp. and drop shot in dark colors.

Report: Dwayne lucckesi and i got on the lake at 7:30 am and moved out off the east side third ramp in 15 to 30 feet of water. Dwayne and i boated 16 bass between 2 to 4 pounds and we also landed 12 small bass from 7 to 11 inches long.Dwayne came out on top with 12 of the bigger bass. The weather was nice cold in the morning but warmed up quick with the bass action. We caught all of are bass on 1/4 oz bullet head jigs in light green pumpkin barb wire and we use watermelon red/black flake 4" double tail and 5" single tail yamamoto grubs as are trailers. We were off the water by 2:45 pm

Tips: fish slow long cast keep good contact with the bottom when using a jig i swim the bullet head back to the boat and never lose contact with the bottom it also work with arkie or football head jigs also or if your using brushogs.

Report: started about 730 in the narrows and caught a couple small spots..made our way to the main body and drop shotted a couple 2-3 lb smallmouth in about 35 ft... the wind pushed us into a cove by spanish flats and hooked a 8 lb large mouth shallow...huge fish!! the wind died down and we went back deep and caught a couple more nice fish...
      City: yuba city

Tips: on the way back thru winters stop and eat at the world chinese rest. great food and a good way to end the day...catch and release always!!

      Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Slow down if you want to score at Calero. We started fishing deep points (along with the MANY boats on the lake this Wednesday) without much success. Went a little shallower (12-18ft) and were able to score some fish. Nothing huge, but just your average 2lb Calero bass. Couple dinks mixed in for flavor, but we caught 12 for the day. Best 5 went 12lbs. Slow retrieving Baby Brush Hogs, Gulp Minnows and Yamamoto Double Tail Grubs. Did see a substantial amount of Crappie on the graph (quite a few crappie bites on the plastics) and watched a guy pull out some nice ones close to Dam while dropshotting for the Bass. Get out before it gets too cold.
      City: Pacific Grove

Tips: We caught some fish shallow around weed edges along bank and most in the 12-20ft water depth range. Many bites after deadsticking for 30-40 seconds then gently moving the bait. Also, any drops you can find should hold fish... pull over a rock or something deep and let it fall, get a bite. Fish it while you can players!

      Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Nice day on the lake. Caught 8 bass up to 3.5 lbs. Caught 3 on shallow crank bait and 5 on drop shot. All fish were in 12 ft of water or less along steep rocky shoreline. Recent trout plant had a lot of boats out at the south end by the swimming area. Bite actually turned on after 2:00 when the water warmed up. AM bite was very slow.
      City: Foster City

Tips: Cover a lot of water with crank bait. Slow down with drop shot when you find fish. Better fishing in the PM when the water warms up a deg or 2.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had a nice day of fishing. Got on the water at safe light. Hit the dam and hit a few nice ones. After sun up I hit rocky points in 15 to 18 feet with brown jigs. Best five going 18+. Biggest came on crank bait early. Few small ones on dropshot 3 to 4 lb fish on jigs. All in all good day

Tips: Bigger fish hit slow slow presentation. Work points slow. Multiple fish off of same locations.
