      Report: Since I just did a report, I will make this brief. Another half-day guide trip with two anglers that have done a little bass fishing. I thought drop-shotting would work well for them and it did for the most part. We had cloud cover early and I thought it would help the bite, but the spots were a little lethargic this morning. You would set the hook and they had already spit the worm. Weird. One of the fellows did catch one over the slot - barely - his first one of the day. We just fished the main body and a little of the middle fork. We just used 6" Robo worms and morning dawn w/ chartreuse tail was again the winner! Green craw was second place. Salt & pepper w/ chartreuse is starting to work also. Fish were deeper on a cloudy morning - go figure!

      Tips: Maybe because of the lack of much hot weather, the lake is VERY clear - at least in the areas I have guided lately. Visibility is well over 10 feet! Finally saw some bluegill today - along with another small largemouth - and some BIG carp! They are lovin' all the underwater weedbeds! The slower bite could be blamed on the clear water with a totally flat lake - not a breath of wind!!

      Report: Was fishing muddy to stained water the past 2 weeks with little success. Monday fished pretty clear water and what a difference clarity makes. Had 5 for 22lbs with 4 of them on topwater. Fished incoming tide from 10 to 3.

      Tips: Fishing clearer water was key Monday. But, that can change...hell, it probably already has.

      Report: Shore fished near the damn. Arrived around 5pm and fished till 7pm. Only a few boats out but there wakes still made for murky visibility. Started out with black/red and white/red spinner baits and a shad minnow rap. No interest. Finished off with wack worm drop shot and t-rig worm with also no interest. One of those days....

      Tips: Shore fishing has been pretty rough these past couple of weeks. Need a boat for Anderson unless going for cats near E. Dunne bridge.

      Report: Got on the water late,5:45am. Threw G-splash 85 Ghost minnow all day getting 3 fish, 1 spot 2.5#, 2 LMB 3#& 4#. Deep Lil N got 3 1ea. smallie,spot,LMB. 1 on spinnerbait LMB (white&gold)3.5#. All in all it was ok to land all 3 fish that bit the popper. We were all over the lake on the westside and north.

      Tips: Keep throwing it 'til your arm falls off. Lost a few on a senko at the trees in the north end. Oh, and where is the water at?ts down 1.5-2' from 2wks ago.

      Report: Fished this morning from 0630 until 1100. Top water in the early AM with fish playing with my sammy but not hooking up. Wormed fish the rest of the morning for 6 spots. All taken in about 10 feet of water. Yellow dog, over and out..

      Report: went to emigrant got about 20 total in a few hours fishing the dam from shore. dropshots,fick shakes, tubes and a few on reaction biggest went 2.5 smallmouth no largemouth just a bunch of little smallies and 2 decent ones. If theres no posts go out and try it before you whine about there not being any - delete the oregon lakes brilliant idea i dont think so.

      Report: Dennie and I got a late start, but a darter head and a split shot with a robo worm in all colors let us boat 30 plus bass. Most we caught were around 18-21 ft. Our best five were around 12 lbs.

      Report: Slow for Catfish. Should pick up with more plants. Caught a 22 1/2'' 4 lb. 4oz. Catfish and thats it.

      Report: Sunday morning the winds died down for the Junior Bass Club, (NorCal Bass Ratz). The cold front that blow the day before made it tough but the Juniors still came in with their limits of 3 bass. Not big but a limit. Senkos worked the best for most in and around the rocks with tules. With only 2.5 ft tide moving work it slow.

      Tips: look for those bass that are holding tight to cover.

      Report: Launced at New Hope and started at Beaver Slough; brother picked up a couple with a beaver tail (just a coincidence) on a football jig..took it on the fall. Zip for me trying t-rigged senko, lipless crank, money frog, and dropshotting Then moved to Little Potato Slough from the Tower Marina; brother picked up a couple more on the beaver working the tules. Moved to our fav spot along Mokulemne and I immediately picked up 3 on 1/2 oz gold/black Red-eye Shad, then 4 more on 1/4 oz orange craw Red-eye Shad. Lipless cranks seem to work for me on Mokulemne. Bro switched to same and picked up 3 more. Had three 2lbers and one 3lber as my decent fish; bro had same for his decent fish. Others were barely keepers but still fun to catch! Note: Also picked up a really weird looking fish..bass green color but long and skinny like a smelt or a hake but it took my lipless just like a bass...it threw the hook at the boat so didn't get a good look or a pic of it...anyone know what it is??

      Tips: Beaver worked for my bro, tossed between tules and weedline or just outside the weeline. My lipless cranks picked all mine up, tossed right at the tules and in the "tule inlets".

      Report: fished from 8-3 20 fish all spotted bass 3lbs biggest rip baits, med to deep cranks threw everything else with no succes no topwater bite fish shallow 5' or less in morn fish were 10 to 15 ft in afternoon.

      Tips: find good structure the fish will b there

      Report: First night trip to Amador in 3 years. Pretty good evening. Started at 4pm; had a small limit by 4:45, then it died till about 9pm. Caught alot of fish between 9 and midnight. Bite died again at midnight so we left. No fish bigger than 3 lbs. Will be back in July or Aug. on a full moon.

      Tips: No secret baits on this trip. Just basic dark baits. Caught alot on blue/black hula grubs and bigger fish came on 7 inch black power worm. Tried swimbaits and cranks, no takers. My partner did get one a a zara spook. $32 to get in. Wow!

      Report: Launched from Northshore and fished main body for first hour but no action. Fished coves in the main channel and started catching some small spots. Most fish came on drop shot and shakey head. Caught one small mouth and a few spots on top water. Biggest fish went 3.5 lbs. Off the lake by noon.

      Tips: Mostly a finesse bite.

      Report: Slow morning catching fish. Did have them hit on senkos and also Super Pintail Shad baits. Hit points 10-20 ft deep water. Making sure to deadstick.

      Report: Fished a couple days this week. Fish can be caught on several reaction techniques until 9am then the bite dies off. Finnesse with plastics after that. fish are in all areas of the water column, but a few bigger fish are 15+ft deep.

      Report: I think summer has finally hit Lake Oroville! Lots of small bass 9 to 12 inches starting to show. I guided a couple of great people yesterday morning - a guy and gal who wanted to learn more about bass fishing, not having been too successful on their previous trips. Learn they did - and catch they did too!! As we started out from the dam, I made a sudden turn to the left to a spot that now looked good with the higher water. I love instinctive impulses - when they work! His first bass on a green craw Robo worm was a 16 1/2" spot. Nice! We continued to work the main body during rather tough conditions - clear water and no breeze, catching a few in shadows! We moved to the middle fork as the breeze - then wind- picked up - and so did the bite. I was so happy for the nice lady - she landed 3 bass and lost several. She was excited! He did very well with 8 or so in the boat. I tried to keep up with the best color "of the hour" - switching Robo colors for them as conditions changed. I caught 12 or 13 also, including 2 barely over the slot. I was happy for the very willing bass - I know my clients had lots of fun and said they learned a lot.

      Tips: At 76% capacity. Lake Oroville it starting to look like her 'ol self - until you get next to the bank and look up. Still a ways to go! I worked with them on split-shotting techniques to get them going, then I tried to see if drop-shotting was happening. It was!! Retied their rigs for dropshotting and that was the answer for the morning. Lots of action. It was interesting to me that there was no surface action what-so-ever until one fished rolled at 11 am. No bird action - just quiet out there. Out action came on hard-pan banks at about the 10 to 30 foot depth. Morning Dawn w/chartreuse tail was again good along with green pumpkin and Aaron's Magic w/ R&B flake.
