      Report: Fished a weekend tournament and didnt do so well. Caught 1 fish which went 2.26 lbs for the 2 days and got 11th place. Winning weight was a little over 8lbs. Very tough!! Caught mine on a black jig with brushhog trailer in the back of the weed beds. Be patient and fish slow. Did not get any on top water. Had 1 blow up at a frog but that was all. Have no good info for anyone other than that.

      Tips: Fish slow and be persistent. I heard of alot of different things that caught fish. Senkos, spinnerbait, jig, buzzbait, no specific colors. Hope that helps a little.

      Report: I spent a few days at Big Cove for a little fishing and scouting. Winter is trying to depart - but it is a slow process!! Surface temp on Wed evening was 62 and this morning (Sat) it was 56! I fished most mornings and evenings for about 2 to 3 hrs and found the smallies pretty willing hit but hard to hook. The wind blew both directions - hard - most of the time. I just fished a mile or so either direction from Big Cove. Each time out I caught from 4 to 7 smallies, but only one quality one, 3 lbs 2 oz. I caught about 25 and only 3 under 12 inches. Last night I got them to hit crankbaits including the ever-faithful crawfish Deep Wee-R. Before dark I was throwing the black Wiggle Wart and hooked a real toad. She stripped out line like I couldn't believe, but I lost her after 20 or so seconds. I did catch several 2 to 2 1/4 pounders on the crankbaits. The rest of my fish were caught on green pumpkin 4" Power worms and 5" Senkos - mostly #301. Before dark they were nailing the green pumpkin Senko w/ chartreuse tail. Lost a big one on that bait too, but it did produce my 3-2 smallie. Lots of bass were caught by the dock ladders that are now much in the water. All my crank fish were caught on a sloping rock bank with deep water next to it. That spot always seems to be good right at dark. The magic depth overall during the trip was 8 to 12 feet. I was mostly Texas rigging my worms but did catch a few split-shotting. There were so many favorite areas of mine that I was excited to work, but Almanor, like Clear Lake, will just kill your game plan. Overall, I did have lot of action (bites) but the mood of the fish, cold front, and the rough water made things very difficult.

      Tips: The lake is filling rapidly. I took a photo of the inflow flood protection canal west of Chester. What a sight - running high!! If there was any spawning activity - I wouldn't have been able to see much. Most bigger smallies seemed to be post-spawn. Where I was fishing the visability seemed to be about 3 to 4 feet.

      Report: Freakin windy!! Launched out of Russo's and head out across Franks Tract. Three foot swells on the way out which quickly grew to 5 foot swells. Surfed the boat back inside the wall and managed to pickup a few.

      Report: Worst wind I've come across in some time.Trying to control a 21' boat with a 101 lb minnkota on 90 was NOT what fishing should be! It finally calmed down in the pm and found some decent water to fish but counts were nothing like two days ago.Had to laugh at the dinks that would hit a 6" senko!

      Report: Fished a club tournament on Saturday my partner and I caught about 17 fish with the big fish going 3.35lbs. Fishing was good for the whole club but the big bites were tough to come by. caught most fish on the dart-head and some random ones on dropshot, swimbait, and jig. The big fish came on the jig.       Report: Visalia Bass had a tournament at Lake Kaweah on Saturday and 48 boats competed. Fishing was pretty good and most teams produced limits. The winning weight was an incredible 23lbs+ with second place weighing in a limit of over 16lbs. Both of those teams had huge kicker fish to go along with an otherwise solid stringer. An 7-8lb limit was middle of the road. Fish were literally caught all over the lake. The lake is at nearly maximum capacity and patience will produce fair numbers of bass, which can be found shallow.

      Tips: Fish aggressively early in the morning and then slow down and fish shaded structure for your best chance to land a quality bass later in the day.

      Report: Gotta post something. I hate approaching a tourny and there are no reports for weeks at a time..so heres mine. Caught dinks all day guarding nests, most were just short of 13 inches. If you want them throw spinnerbaits, senkos and flukes will work (any greens) in or around the old beds. The big female is gone from these spots so if you want her you gotta find her. Our bigger fish came from purple roboworms dartheaded around steep rock for smallmouth and the bigger largemouth came from some bigger size senkos (any greens again) thrown in shade pockets later in the day. Our club did well for the conditions. There are definitely fish to be caught. Have fun!

      Tips: Mostly post spawn which was tricky but theres still spawning fish...adapt to the area you are fishing. you can still sight fish the spawners but will have to work for the post spawners.

      Report: Went out with a good friend to fish the south end. Launched out of Lazy M's at first light. Fished all over trying to stay protected some what from the wind. Wind ended up chasing us off early. Caught 7 total in 5 hours. All came on worms, purple in color. Nothing on frogs, cranks, or spinnerbaits.

      Report: Tried for some topwater fish and got 2 on a LC sammy. Fish went down and switched to a jig and got 2 more (big one was just over 6 lbs). Ended the day chasing some schools and getting a few on a spinnerbait and spoon. Ended the day with 9 fish for two peeps...not too shabby

      Report: Started the morning with swim baits and had a ton of followers but no takers. So we hit the shoreline with buzzbaits and had no followers. So we we back to the place we had follwers with the swim baits and started throwing senkos and connected with a few good bass.We also threw a drop shot rig with oxblodd worms and scored some bass. The bite died off at 11am. we had about 10 bass and the biggest was 4.8 pounds.

      Report: Tips for Mike: Go under the green bridge and stay to the right for about a mile or two. This puts you in the South Fork. Look for sloping dirt banks and points with rock outcrops into the water. I like the left side. Stay casting distance from the bank.

      For bait use dark green/brown 4" or 5" Senkos with an octopus hook ran through the center of the bait. This is called "Wacky Style". It is helpful to add a very small split shot about 10" above the hook in order for the senko to fall slowly to the bottom. Once on the bottom lift/reel very slowly back to the boat. Often the senko gets bit before it hits the bottom so watch your line! If you lift and feel weight SET THE HOOK. There are a lot of ways to catch fish at Lake Oroville. This method give you and your family a good chance of catching some fish.

      Report: Thursday, 6/10/10. The strong wind in the morning forced my fishing buddy, his grandson, and me to fish a protected cove near the narrows. On the way there coming out of Capell Cove, one wave did get my buddy wet. By midmorning we only had a few fish. By then, the wind had calmed down so we moved first to Putah Creek and then to the Big Island. I wanted by buddy

      Tips: Fish on and around points. Take a young person fishing and watch them get excited when they catch a fish.

      Report: fishing is a little slower than it should be but you just have to slow down and you will catch fish. there are fish on beds everywhere if thats what you like to do. Fished north last tues. and put 12 to 4.5 in the boat and did not sight fish.fished rattlesnake arm yesterday and put 10 in the boat { 5 were sight fishing]The frog bite is slow but you can catch a few that way.

      Report: My sons and I found a good pattern. We worked shad robo worms around weeds and came up with 25 fish. Mostly around 1#, but a few in the 2# range. The water was really clear in the morning, but mud lines developed around noon with the wake board boats buzzing us.

      Report: left B&W 5:00 am was a tourney going on fish bite was suprisenly tough today don't really know what happened threw crank bait, senko, blades , top water,sweet beaver, could not really get on a pattern. Maybe one of those days! Took friend out with me from work he landed one and lost a few more. I boated one myself, but nothing like it should be this time of the year, threw the whole boat at them could not find them, not even dinks. oh well maybe just a bad day fishing.. but a good day cause I was able to get out and get my lines wet and out of the house before it gets blistering hot.Had a good time!!       Report: FISHED FOR 2 HOURS IN THE EVENING WITH A ROOKIE. HE CAUGHT THE FIRST FISH ON DROP-SHOT ROBO WORM, THEN I CAUGHT THE NEXT 7 ON TUBES. MIXTURE OF SMALL-MEDIUM SIZE FISH, MISSED A COUPLE BITES BECAUSE I HAD THE KIDS WITH ME.
