Report: Ditched the boat again this time because of the weather and boy was it a good day just walking the bank. First fish a solid 4 lber. Next cast to the left a solid 3.5 lber. Right then I knew it was gonna be a fine day. Missed a few then another 3 lber. My 7 yr old nephew was with me and he caught a 4.3 lber and a 2 lber weighed on the digital scale. Took some pictures and video for memories. 7 fish total for me and 2 for the young pro-angler. He even got big fish for the day :). All fish caught on various plastics, jigs, and one on a spinnerbait.

Tips: Walk the bank and take a kid fishing. He may out fish you! Tight lines.

Report: Buddy just moved with his boat. Any thoughts any of you may have about someone showing up at a launch ramp looking to hitchhike and fish? Wife won't let me buy my own boat. Been married too long to ditch her!

      Water Temp: you tell me!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Tomorrow I'm actually going to Tenmile Lake (Not Cottage Grove). I doubt too many people have been out there lately with the weather we've been having but if anyone has here are a couple questions. What are the water temps like? How is the water clarity? And did you catch any decent fish?
      City: yoncalla

Tips: I've packed mostly loud and obnoxious lures to go along with a few quiet/subtle ones. My old bass tourney partner tells me it looks a bit like Clear Lake in California- I hope it fishes like it !! I'll post a big long winded report in a couple days to let you know how we did. Oh yeah- we're also hitting either Dorena or Cottage Grove on Tuesday.

Report: Launched out of Orwood on Saturday and got in a solid 5 hours fishing. Was cold and windy, and glad I keep a spare jacket on the boat. Picked up 6 on crank and drop shot. Crank was delta red speed trap. Worms were oxblood with red flake. Got a few hits on jib and senko but nothing substantial . Chatter bait and buzz were ignored.

      Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started Late Saturday in the Wind and some Rain after most guys got off the water caught 3 nice 3-4 lb range largemouth and 2 about the size of my spinnerbait:). Also caught a 26" striper at about 7:30 along rocks near B&W Resort. I thought I'd done something on my spinnerbait when it took line and ran me around the boat a few times. Fun!!
      City: Sacramento

Tips: They ate my orange and white double willow spinnerbait this evening. Got a few hits on a rootbeer senko but I think they were small. Also a few small ones tried to eat my frog. Hope the Frog bite is good this year it sucked last year for me.

      Water Temp: 60-64

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Nice comments about Bob Myskey on the previous post. He is a great guy and a good guide! We did have a few spring days last week but only one this week! I fished a father/son team for 3 1/2 days. Maybe the final team event for them for awhile - son is getting married - congrats!! The weather wasn't kind - we could only fish Thursday in a proper fashion as it was fairly calm and warm until 1 pm. The rest of the time - cold, rain, and dangerous wind Friday. Amazing Friday - we were going to launch at the Oaks at 7 am - no rigs - too dangerous. Went to Red Bud - no rigs - wow!! We put up the sail and sailed to Cache Creek and fished for 4 hrs. No bites. Thursday we did do well. Both guys hooked a lot of bass using the white Blade Runner jig w/#169 (chartreuse w/ chartreuse-white flake) Yamamoto grub. Size was disappointing - fish were from 2 1/4 lbs to 3 1/2 lbs, though they did lost a few bigger ones. Empty beds everywhere - I imagine some from the big tourney last weekend. After my guys landed 7 or 8 and the wind came up, I decided to have them drag Senkos off Anderson Island structure in hopes of finding a bigger post-spawn female. It is nice when an idea pays off! Dad hooked a nice bass that jumped 2 or 3 times and took a long time to land as the wind was blowing the boat at a good clip. I thought the bass was bigger than it was, but still a nice, skinny 4+ lb bass. Our best 5 were only about 15 lbs - but they had a lot of action!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: There is just no way to base a game plan on previous spring fishing trips. This is still winter in late spring! It looks like a lot of successful spawning has taken place as lots of fry can be seen - just hope they make it! Saw a few carp shallow and one crappie on a bed. No bluegill or bait anywhere - at least at the south end. Hope the belly-boaters had longjohns on for their tourney in the keys! Brrrrrrr!!!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water around 8:45 am when a new friend who has never fished Folsom. We started working trees with little results. We did managed a few out of the trees but ended up on catching most of our fish on Senko's. Boat position in 20-25 feet and then tossing up to banks. A lot of fish hit the bait on the fall or just as it hit the bottom. Most bites very lite. End up with 30+ fish with most being smallies and spots. Most fish around that 2 lb range with some bigger chunk's with some pushing 3.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished both the north and southeast sides of the lake. Less than ideal conditions with the wind and the potential for showers. Stuck one LM off a fallen tree and that was it for about four hours of fishing. Spotted lots of fry so it looks like the spawn is over with.
      City: Napa

Tips: Hennessy is usually a tough lake in the best of conditions, so wait until summer like weather arrives.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Cool mornings, fishing picked up as it warmed up. Had very little luck fishing rocky faces, bites from coho salmon mostly. Finally fished back of coves and my nephew caught the biggest spot at 15 1/2 inches. I caught and released a 17 1/2 largemouth at the base of a small waterfall.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Fished 5" Yamamoto grubs and had best luck with purple metal flake and pumpkinseed too. Fish back of coves with incoming water.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Cold front slowed thing a bit but not too dramatically. Boated about 25 fish with 4 over the slot. Best time of year to make a friend or kid become a "Bassaholic"!!
      City: Oroville

Tips: Rocky outcropping most productive. Fish caught on rip baits, senkos, tubes, flukes, drop shot prism worms and even a couple on topwater baits. Looking forward to the next warming trend.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Had a great trip with two guy's on the lake. The biggest went 4 pounds. Some very nice fish all spotted bass except for one smallmouth. The wind and front blew in around noon and the bite just shut off for big fish. Carolina rig and 4 inch senkos were the baits of choice.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Please catch and release as this lake will just keep getting better. 9 pounder caught off the docks by a young man using a drop shot rig.

Report: I thought this site was about fishing. All I'm reading is about hating each other. No true Anglers here. Just bunch of little kids fighting over what this guy did or what they said about someone else. This is the worst site ever. Let's grow up guys and just have fun fishing.

Report: My friend and I fished 5/21 and caught 8 spotted bass. We missed most of our bites due to small fish I would think. The biggest was 1 1/2 lbs.Used 5" Sankos in baby bass and monster shad, 4" watermelon blk and red flakes and some brown purple color I forgot the name of. Also caught 7 trout most were 10"-12" caught on rainbow, silverblue and gold kastmaster. One 19 inch trout was caught on a worm at night. All fish were in o'brien inlet.
      City: Santa Rosa

Tips: fish by any trees in the water
