Report: Today school co-opperated with my fishing schedual and let me start my day at around 3. as we launched my buddies pro-v by tracker we trolled around the Granite bay launch and only picked up 2 spots, 1 1/2, 2-3 pounder. we quickly figured out the bight, it was drop shot with morning dawn and jig with single grub trailer brown. we headed straight acrossed the lake to a rock pile we had on GPS and fished that and i quickly picked up 3 more spots in the 1 1/2-3 pound range. we moved over near the other launch and fished a deep cove that seemed to have some bait circulating through it. my buddy mike picked up 2 jig spots same size. at dark we ran back to the Granite bay launch and fished the beach area and the creek channel near the launch. RIGHT AFTER sun set i pick up a nice 4.3 pound spot on a fat-A crank bait. that made for a decent day of fishing. thanx loomis kid
City: rosevilleTips: drop shot morning dawn, jig hula grubs in browns and purple, crank ur crank baits fast with a 10 second pause. they are hitting the crankbait when it stops.

Report: Back on Folsom to find the bass I missed on saturday at 9am with Quency. We started just out on the rocks in front of Granite Bay ramp using 4" lizards in green pumkin and a morning dawn leach. Before the rain came we got some small spots in 10-15 ft on rocks. We made our way to another rocky area that had a flat and droped into 30 ft. When the rain and winds came we had 9 spots and 1 largie. Most of the bass were on the flat with large rocks. No bits on jigs or rip baits.
City: rocklinTips: split shots with a 3 ft leader and slow. white ears worm.

Report: This Lake as well as all the lakes in the area are in great shape and looks like were going to have great fishing here in the south bay this year. As the front kept coming the fishing got better. From lunch on these guys ended up with 20 or so keepers to 4.5lbs with about 15lbs for there best 5. One jig fish in the 6lb range came unbuttoned for some reason followed by another broke off big fish with 5 minuts of each other. Carolina Rig and jigs.

Report: APPLEGATE LAKE
This was my first time out here so I took my fiance along. We fished submerged humps, ledges, and dropoffs next to the dam. Also stump beds and rock structures near Copper Ramp. Only fished the northern half of the lake today cranking spinner baits as slow as we could and used tubes, worms, and senkos but had no luck.
Tried the same presentations at Selmac yesterday but had the same results.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Rod, I was just curious when western bass was going to add those lakes to the website? Hope it is soon cause I'm getting ready to start fishing Lost Creek and Selmac this spring, and I would like to have a place to check on those lakes.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out fishing with trhe wife and had a decent day fishing.Could not get a shallow bite,so started to drop shot fish werte real lippy but ended up catching them down around thirty to fifty feet.brown and green brushhogs seem to work the best ,bites were very liteand only caught a couple of fish in every spot we stopped at .Every fish was very fat so not much longer for the bite to go off the hook.
City: ModestoTips: Just let it set with a couple of twitches

Merced Lake

Water Temp: Cold
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Went out between rains for an hour or so. I had one light bite on a robo leach, but missed it as I was lighting a cigar. In the end - got nothing but wet. An older Russian couple managed to take home 3 carp from the DPW pier...
The south lake level is up, almost to the same height as about May-June last year. It just needs to warm up for a few days.

Water Temp: 50's
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: went to the horseshoe for an hour of exercise. caught a fat 16 inch largemouth on a crankbait. yes, she was caught and released alive. she had all the markings of pre spawn.
water is really high and stained from the rains. almost no shore to walk around. really muddy. all the good drop offs are submerged. i'll have to start bring in the tube or boat.
City: FremontTips: downsize and slow roll. they're right between the first and 2nd drop off. i can't wait til the blade bite starts. i guess that should be in a few more weeks.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 53.5
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: club tournament 25 guys. Heavy boater fished by himself. 16+ lbs his kicker was 6.72. Dan caught it on a crank bait first cast across point. Fish are moving up and are hitting grubs drop shot split shot heck everything.I had 10.5 lbs drop shot rig on sides of points. Wood near by helped.Didn't find my jig fish like I wanted in 50 feet so I went to the bank. Maybe the heavy rains moved the fish shallow? Most of my fish were beautiful smallies. What a great fishery berryessa is.
City: orangevaleTips: If you go in the rain fish shallow. If the sun is out I'd go deeper. The fish a definatly moveing to the back of coves to spawn now. Next full moon look out. Lizards and brush hobs good choice. Don't know why drop shot worked so good all of a sudden but use morning dawn if water is stained. I did and it worked. You still have to fish slow.

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 52-54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took my son Niko to my Club Tourn. on Sat. Weather did not treat use very well. We caught fish, Niko tied on one of my homemade Jigs for the first time. He caught 2 on Black/Blue. I hit 4 on the S20. Sun. We fished The Hook. Went to the same area. Niko tied on the same jig and bamm 3# first fish, Bamm 4# second fish. We were on fish. We had 4 by 11:00 and then Pop at 11:30 the trolling motor cable broke. Made it hard to fish, but we hung in there. Ended the day with 5 fish just under 11 pounds. Just our luck... Hope we made the TOC...
City: FremontTips: Look for cleaner water. Try Jigs and 6-7" plastics. The bass are moving up and should just get better as the water warms.

Collins Lake
-
Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I tried a 3 hour trip this morning, forgeting that it was a 3 day weekend - and there was a local tournament - wow!!! Anyway, I wanted to try some of my new G.Loomis rods and check out the jig bite. My first cast with the new GLX 854 produced a 1 1/2 lb spot on a purple Weapon jig in about 12 feet of water - that surprised me. I got 4 more bites, all on the purple jig, and 3 of them were nice ones - spots from 2 to 2 1/2 lbs. Tried to get my 5th bass, but it started raining and I wasn't in the mood to get wet!
City: Yuba CityTips: I fished rocky points and walls - some far offshore for my jig fish. Most fish were about 20 feet. You have to fish your jigs a little faster at Collins because the rocks will cause them to snag up all the time! If I was there longer, I would have tried more tactics. I did throw rips and cranks for a bit, not no takers.

Del Valle Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Miserable weather on hand Saturday but that
didn't seem to bother the fish. Caught 5 LM bass
in 5 hours from 4lb-6+lbs all on Texas rigged
Yamamoto bait. Caught most in 8-15' ft of water
or should I say chocolate milk. Bites were real subtle missed several fish due to just a little slack in my line. Best success was slowly jumping bait up off the bottom. 1 lunker channel cat 7lbs! and the dam thing fought hard.
City: OakleyTips: Bring a little luck with you, it definitely helped me out. Wishful thinking>>>>I saw one clown with two bass totaling 16 lbs! On an F'n
stringer!! I'd bet a steak dinner that the catfish taste a ton better than them old bass any day!! What a moran.
