Report: Hey Jake L.
Nice to see a report. You were doing the Tri-Valley meet? If so, I must have finished OK. If you were 12th in at 9 and change, I must have did top 5 with 11.54.. Guess I need to call Steve and ask.. What was big? Had to leave earlier than I wanted so I didn't see all the weigh in

Report: Tri Valley Report for June 27 - Lopez
Yet another great turnout for Tri Valley as 30+ boats were on hand for a windy day at the Lopes, but decent bags.
1st Phillips/Austin 6 fish 27.42 lbs $950
2nd Rose/Glass 6 fish 23.01 lbs $350
3rd M and J Short 6 fish 22.80 $150
Big Fish D/C Chatterley 6.37 $260
2nd Big fish Ralph/Sam Sawdey 6.03 $115
Next Meet: Santa Margarita - 18 July
City: SMTips: Lots of wind but for myself, I found my big three on Aarons Magic Red Flake drop shot. Tried several sizes and color combos hitting on one that seemed to work best. Was tough holding in the wind but it worked. Toss rips on the points if the wind is up. Some having keepers on this but didn't work for me. Most of my three limits of 'under age hits' came just off the bank but majority were under 13" so moved deeper and started to hit better fish but not near as many.

Water Temp: 66-68
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The 2009 Police and Fire games were held on 06/16/09-06/17/09.
Winning weights for the indiviual event on 06/16/09 were first place 13.95 lbs, second Place 12.98 lbs and third place 11.53 lbs
Winning wieghts for the team event held 06/17/09 were first place 14.36 lbs, second place 14.17 lbs and third place 14.01 lbs.
There was also 1 smallie that was weighed in!!!
City: StocktonTips: The early top water bite was good in the lake coves near the rocky shorelines. Also drop shotting 4" green worms and wacky rigged 4" inch worms worked well too. The shaky head also played a good roll. It's a tough lake, but the fish are there if you're fishing slow.

Report: Guy. I assume you already got my email but for those in Taft clubs that still were wondering.
Gold Coast Bass shut down at the end of the season in 2008. Unfortunately, things happen and the economics were rough as was some attendance of membership and we the officers, elected to close it down after 30+ years of service.
Hopefully in the future, we can once again strike up a new band and put GCB back on the front lines.
Regards,
Bob Dixon

Report: A small group of Kern Valley bassers were out for a meet today when I arrived at 6:20. Still lots of green algea on the water causing your line to 'green-up'. Hit Whittenberg stickups with a Rico top water and scored several blow-ups but only 1 hitter for the 1st 1/2 hour. Kept pluggin away at the stickups with a slower then faster retrive trying to set a pattern. Managed another three with one decent 4 pound male. Hit the point on the way out and was surprised that nothing was showing in a few decent spots
Moved off to the Vasquez area and tried a jig. No takers at all with four different colors and trailer combos. Headed to a point off the miracle mile and started with a crank on the points with only one small dink so switched to a drop shot with Oxblood robo curly tails with y a few 10-12 inchers. Changed out to a Aarons Magic with red flake and hit on three consecutive casts with one decent 4+ lady. Wind care up about 10:30 so called it an early day at noon
City: SMTips: Work the flats with a top or crank first then start your search for bigger fish in 20-40 feet. Tossing to the bank and dragging back only produced smaller fish. Try going deep to shallow then switch. 4.5 curly tail robos in Oxblood, Aarons Magic and Blue Smoke worked all morning. Rico for the top water and my smaller CLU original design Casitas Black crank worked on a few of the deper points.

Report: A day to pratice with a fishin buddy.. Was surprised being a holiday weekend that the parking lot was sparse. Figured by 11 or noon, it would fill.
Was coat weather for sure as the sun barley peaked it's face - - probably why no one was on the water. Too cold ---
Started out towards Whittenberg at 6:30 and calm waters. One boat already there and we knew him. Said it was pretty slow and got nothing on the top water or blades.
Headed off to the point just out of the marina and started dropping. Partner hit a decent 14" and all I managed was a miget fish. Worked the walls down the mile with one more in the boat. Moved down the wall a god 100 yards or more and started fishing again. Felt a slight tug and set the line - pulled in a nice 4+ large. Continued on the wall with nothing more so moved off towards Vasquez. Still no hitters - Moved into the back area with no luck so headed back to the mile and the walls. Wind started comingg up so we kept heading in towards the marina and winds started to pickup. Decided to call it a day at 11:30 -- Ramp was getting busy as was the cars coming in so it was a good time to stop.
City: SMTips: Drop shot worked - Oxblood red/flk seem to be the best color this motning. Nothing on blades, cranks, jigs or swims.

Kaweah Lake
-
Water Temp: hot
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Lake Kaweah is full of 1 pounders. Like 14.5 inchers. Its open 24 hours too many people take fish from this place. DFG needs to raise the size limit again. How about 17" this time. I'm done fishing this place. Not worth catching sub 15's. The odds of catching a 3lber are 50:1. The odds of catching a 5lb+ are 100:1. And I've watched the results of many tourneys. Not worth my time. See you at the golf course.
