Report: Tri Valley Meet was filled with a good 39 boats today. Cloudy day and still a few spots of sun but very few. Very slight winds much of the day with heavier winds coming in late in the day making it almost a perfect time to fish Lopez.

Partner and I hit on three nice smallies with good weight in the 1st 45 minutes then everthing headed deep. But it was still a decent day with about 9 and change in the scale but winners were in with good loads. Saw a 34+ hit the scale from the winners at last meet so they have things figured out.

Most big bags were out of Whittenberg area

Next month is San Antone Apr 25th
      City: SM

Tips: Drop shot worked for us against the walls in 25-35 foot. Jigs and brush hogs and whacky were used by some. Didn't see any beds yest in the back. Some in whittenberg which probably got hit hard - but - so did the fish!

Report: Well the Lakes coming up its right at the bottom of the new ramp.Started out by the first rock wall on the right and first cast with a pop-r I picked up a small Spot.Fished down a couple hundred feet and picked up four more. Then ran over and fished the coves on the right past Bee rock with 6" Robo worm Texas rigged (Arrons Magic)and cought all the spot's you wanted. All the fish were out on the points and just a little ways into the coves. The farther you went in the worse the fishing. Then I ran down and fished across from Las Tables and switched to cranking all those little cuts with a Wee-r.Not as many fish but all better quality between 2-2-1/2 lbs. Then ran to the back of Las Tables and started at the five mph line.I threw a small 3" Chart.grub and cought 5 more spots three Crappie and two White bass.So I guess what I am saying is the Lake is fishing fantastic.

      Water Temp: 52-55

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Here are the results for the Visalia Bass tounament on March 14th. First off let me tell you that the lake was on fire. I could only account for 11 fish that were over 3 lbs. but many more where in the scales since we only weigh 1 from each team. I can tell you that of the 35 teams that a 10 lbs. limit and a fish in the area of 3-3 1/2 lbs would get you back some money. Not today, weights in the 10-11 lbs range and big fish in the 3 1/2 -4 1/2 lb range got you nothing today. Here are the top 3 for today.

1st place Gary Coker & Victor Diaz 20.91lbs 2nd big fish 7.34 lbs

2nd place Ken Borba & Russ Huffman 17.10 lbs Big fish 8.60 lbs

3rd place Randy Weldon & Jim Tatum 13.28 lbs

You had to have 11.78 even to cash to for 7th place.

Most fish caught in the river area using Swim Baits and jigs from 2'-18'

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: A practice day at the Lopes with a fishing buddy.
Hit Whittenburg on a first stop and we were greeted with some very cold conditions to say the least. Saw a few guys out in the same area bundeled up tight against the conditions. Slow going for sure. Tossed blades into the weed stickups [as was others] looking for crusing fish but no takers. Headed to Vasquez area with jigs against the banks and walls with nothing. Over to the dam area to get out of the wind but it still followed us. Tossed a few jigs and started to dropshot. Partner pulled in one keeper after three breakoffs in the rocks and I pulled off three lighter jigs as well with nothing. Two younger kids to our right pulled in maybe two smallies [really small] and that was it. headed to a few other good spots but nothing hit. Used a drop on the point just out of the marina where we finally were showing fish but still nothing. Wind was really pulling us around and we elected to call it a day at about noon. Cold out, hungry and alot of casts with no much to show. Warmer waether may help.
      City: SM

Tips: Being it is March, no real sign yet of fish moving to shallows for pre-spawn. Maybe in a few days... Weather helping.

Report: Cold! 28o when I hit the main gate. Shorts off - Levis on! Headed to the river to check out the situation as there were several trainlers at White Oak but saw no one. Hit passed the first dock entering the narrows and saw several boats mored. Must have had a breakfast or something going on at the campsites. . Back was empty at the stick up's but tossed a few anyway. No takers so headed back towards the dock area and the rock walls. Tossed a jig on the transition areas and popped a heavy! 7+ and the nice guy that was just down from me trolled up and said good catch - shes a heavy. Who ever it was THANKS! Never got his name. Toosed back in the same local up and down the banks and lipped another good 4+ so there were in there and I left them be.

Headed towards the 5mph coming out and hit the sunshine side with a few others in the area. Went to a drop and it hit the water and she hit me. Good solid 3 1/2 male on a Robo in 18feet.

Hit a few more smaller ones and called it a day at noon.
