Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well I arrived about 7:00am and it was very calm and warm for this time of year.I figured the Lake would be low becouse I have not been here since Spring.Boy the Lake is LOW and they are letting some out.The River was flowing pretty good as I looked at it driving across the Dam.And as I went over the one lane bridge over the San Antoinio River it was flowing at full pool, bank to bank not good.Well the fishing was ok I did catch 9 spot's and all were over 15" and three were 18" so the size was very good for here.I would say I had over 10lb's easy for the best five. All cought on Texas rigged Power worm's on 6lb test and small weight. All fish on steep rocky bank's.The lake got more stained the farther you went up toward's Las Tables. All my fish came in the clearer water.I never fished much past Bee Rock, well what's left of it.
City: SalinasTips: Use as lite of gear as you can here it seem's to help for quantity just hope for larger fish.Sometimes you find them.

Water Temp: 64
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Slow day on the water. Fished from 6:30 - 10:30. Lots of shad and metered fish. Cranked secondary drop-offs with one keeper. Tried the dropshot and texas rigged worms with no luck. Going to try deep jigging with a spoon next weekend. Never tried that method, but might be worth a try with the large schools of shad hanging deep.

Report: Everybody was throwing cranks, we did too but did too but couldn't get bit. So we tried plastics at the flume. We hooked about 20, mostly around 2.5 to 3 lbs. Landed won 6+ and lost a much larger one.
City: BakersfieldTips: Splitshot was the only way we could catch keeper fish.

Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: A fun trip to the lopes today just to enjoy.. Sun was out, wind wasn't and it was a rarety for the Lopes with a lot of flatter than usual water and ample sun. Headed towards Vasquez in hope of using a new jig and trailer combo but no luck. Knew that it would be slow but it was really slow! With a front headed in and the water temps down we knew today would be tough and it was. Left Vasques area and headed toward the 'mircle mile' by the old roadbed. Partner hit a great weigher on a drop-shot [which was the only thing working today]which maybe pulled the scales to 3 to 4 pounds. Chunky fish and we were in right on the bank in the transisiton areas. Cruised around towards the marina and hit again right on the point on the same setup drop-shot.
Headed off at noon with only four in the boat that were keepers. Still --- A fun day despite a few battery problems
City: SMTips: For those dropping -- No need for that 'bigger' hook. A #2 Owner worked great with about 18" of trailer line for the shot and eye hooking the bait. Stay close to the banks as it seems the fish were moving up closer looking for shad in the 8 to 20 foot range of depth.

Pyramid Lake

Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Good bite up until this week, when everything died. Fished several trips that were good to excellent. Then Wednesday and Friday everything stopped biting. Conditions were good coming off several days of north winds. Bait was less concentrated than past weeks but water wasn't moving (maybe a reason?) and the moon phase was full. Only managed 5 dinks for the day.
Tips: Bites came on dropshots, topwaters and jerk baits. Crank bite has died altogether. Chartruse seemed to make a difference.
