Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Wow! Bring out the warm stuff! Arrived at 5:50 this morning to a very chilly 29o.. Put on the warm stuff and waited for better light with a 6:20 launch. headed for Zaca flats and tossed a top water --Nothing hit - Moved off to the banks and shot out a crank in several styles and colors - Nothing. Headed to the edge of the bouyed off area by the dam and tossed more -- Nothing. Then about 7:20ish -- FOG! Made it into the 5mph zone and worked the rocks - -Nothing - Fog lifted and I headed towards the narrows about 9ish. Pulled out the drop and finally scored a 15-16 incher. Stopped and chatted with three others -- Nothing in not even a hit. Worked the walls some more and hit a real shorty - then NOTHING! Sun finally came out and I started shedding clothes. Headed back towards White Oak and worked the edges. -- Nothing. Said OK, try again Saturday. Only four other trailers in the lot when I left at 11:20.
      City: S.M.

Tips: Wait till maybe 10ish. Bite is really off and the fish are deep and the warming sun may bring them up more towards the edges. Bite was on a Robo 4".

Winners Tomey/Tomey were in with 10+ and a kwel $1K prize! Not to shabby. Don't know where they ended up but I saw several boats heading towards the back.

Report: Frost on the pumpkin this morning with a 'white' dock at this mornings launch around 8AM. Pretty cold for sure and warmies was the call along with lots of hot coffee. A few old club bassers were out this morning and I assume, it was a practice for next weeks Anglers meet. Lousy was the call for the day! Bite was well off normal and searching for fish took up most of the morning. Tried cranks, creature baits and jigs with nothing to show so switched to drop and picked off two nice crappie. Oh woopie! Hit the usual spots and ran into most everyone saying the same -- TOUGH -- A few with some small limits in the 6lb range and maybe a good 4 here and there but slow times at the Lopes today. Sun and warm finally came out late around 10:30-11 with a very small breeze, but a cold one!

Dam area was producing hits but small. In the back of the lake reports have a few good ones taken but nobody was fessing up to what it took to get them.

Tips: Tips for the day -- BRING HOT COFFEE

      Water Temp: 59-63o

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: A great day to finish out the month... Feeling that 'brisk' morning air now that winter is closing in on us CentralCal folks. Was also greeted with a small bit of wind at 6:45 but nothing to get excited over as it soon passed and the sun soon popped out giving way to a great warm day on the water.

Started near Vasquez with a swim on the flatter ground but only had a few small hits not giving me much of a confidance to keep using it so I tossed a jig against the walls with only one 10" black to show for my many casts. Shot across the lake to another point and started drop shottin with much more response on the very first drop. Pulled out several smaller bass but no keepers. Fished it pretty good then headed to the dam area shotting again with many takers and at least 1/2 bag of Robo's taken. Switched to a smaller #2 hook from a #1 and started getting more hook-ups on the Robo I used. Mostly larges and only two smallies out of maybe 15-16 caught. Stayed in 30-35 foot range slowly walking it back to the boat.
Left there and hit the 'Mircle Mile' with only two but one good keeper in the 2-1/2 range. Hit the point at the marina for three more and called it a day about 11:30.
      City: SM

Tips: Drop shot seemed to be the best bet today. Try an Oxblood Crawler Robo on 8lb green fluro line with a #1 or #2 wide gap hook. Used the Owner brand hook which worked great and the Gamagatsu #1 hook I use for whacky rig. Just cut off the nylon weedless guard and they work OK as well.

Report: Got there about 6:30 and there were a few boat's all ready out.Boy they dropped the lake alot in the last three week's.It was sad three week's ago but now it's real bad.Can only launch one at a time.

Well the fishing was good.I cought 12 fish. All spot's except for one Largemouth and one Smallmouth. The first time I have cought either in about three year's.

The Largmouth was 3-lb's and the Smallmouth was 2-lb's.All the spot's were 15".

Lot's of boat's I think they were pre-fishing for an event comeing up.
      City: Salinas

Tips: Small Worm's and as lite as you can fish.I used 1/8th ounce weight's and six pound line fishing about 15'.
