Lighting moving towards grease and we move to the point as no clouds by there. 1 bass on DD 22 1 3/4 lbs. Moved to dam and wind is going crazy. no fish. Move to rock wall and see 2 boats tied up to floating restroom with lights in the water. 6 people fishing next to it. Boats have 2 way radios and the boat in grease calls them to go over there they got fish schooled up. They go around the corner and we fish down the wall. I get 1 more 13 incher and the wind is now around 30 m.p.h. and we go home.

      Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: This lake can be tricky. The lake was down so fishing can be tougher, but with no moon I thought we would do ok. We had 22 boats in our club and only 2 limits where brought in, nine pounds won it. For my son and I we took 6th with a whopping 2 fish at just over 3 lbs. The only thing I can say is the points in about 15-30 feet was the word of the day. No top water this day only had 2 blow ups and no hook ups. We caught our 2; 1 on dropshot (1 lb smallie),1 on a spoon in 25feet on a point (2 lb largy). With so much shad and baby bass to feed on you have to take what you can get.
      City: Bakersfield

Tips: Find steep point with little grass and throw everything you've got till you catch somthing. Spoons do work so watch your electronics. Keep your line wet.

Tried a jerkbait over the grass and the smallies were all over it, big one 2.32. Got off the lake early around 10:30 because of the idiots on jet ski's. No boat patrol to control em.

Report: GOLD COAST BASS AFTERNOON MEET
A good gathering this afternoon with 13 boats on hand for a 2 to 8 meet. Lots of grass weeds on the lake making casting tough as several bowls of salad were coming in with the baits. Props getting clogged as were a few motors. A few teams trying frogs late with a couple of good blowups . Senkos hooked wacky were taking in good keepers across from White Oak. Wind was up more than usual but the temps held for a nice day.
Winners in with 16+, second in the 13 range. Several good bags above 9-11 pounds. Big fish at 6 and change. NEXT: CACHUMA on 20 Sept.
      City: SM

Tips: Moring bite was good all week with 20+ bags. Afternoon shutdown made it tough to take in any fish. Zca Flats holding quality fish as was the back side in the narrows.

      Water Temp: 70*

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had a hot tip that this lake was good. NOT!!! My son-in law along with his brother, myself and the grandsons traveled down for a last day before school started trip. After not having the boat out since April for the CDC tournement. Its was nice to be back on the water for a change. Hit the water about 7. That was to late but you have to have bait when you have kids with you. Even at that the bit was non existant. 5hrs of lines flinging every direction produce 1 whopper. A large mouth that tipped the scales at 2oz. Thats right folks. Should have gone to the Delta. But it was great to have the boys out for a male bonding day. Geez, never want to have beans with dinner the night before!! We did have 1 contest today, you figure it out. But as the old saying goes. A bad day of fishing is better than your best day at work. AMEN!! Never a bad day when your with your family. By the way, that lake is the lowest I have ever seen it. Pray for rain soon. Dog days of summer for sure. See ya all in January at the first Big Valley 100% tourney. Yes, we will be back next year after a 2 year hiadis.
      City: Fresno

Tips: Wish I had some. Maybe next time. But we will be back to Lake Success. But today we had none.

      Water Temp: 78-81

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Only a short time to fish. Around 9AM
picked up a 2# Off the point with the fallen trees, past the Sheriff's tower on a shakey head
with a "bold bluegill" (brown and chartruese) worm. Fought surprisingly better than the bass I
normally catch on Anderson. Between 8AM - 8PM the Lake becomes a freeway of skiers, jetskiers,
and wakeboarders. Cost $35 to register for the year. Tried night fishing for the first time. Got some bumbs on a C-rigged Black Lizard but couldn't get a hook-up. The stars were beautiful.+
      City: Monterey

Tips: First time on the lake.

      Water Temp: 82

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished 6:30am-10:30am, 0 fish. Water level low.
Tried topwater, crankbaits, dropshot, split shot, plastic worms, spinnerbait, trolling. This place must not be that great if it takes 2 guys catching 10 lbs of fish to win a tournament. Not a good sign!!!
      City: visalia

Tips: Lots of fish?- busting baitfish. Watch out for 1 feet of water in middle of lake-(marked with orange buoys).
