Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Castaic from 7-1:30 today. Good conditions, with good fog until about 10:30. The fog kept most of the skiers off the water until later. Good breeze later on in the day, but you have to have some good boat control! Ended all inall with 6 fish, 4 bass and 2 stripers. Biggest was a nice 3.5 largemouth, on a Pointer 100 in a little cove near Old SS.
      City: Pearblossom

Tips: Fish reaction early on. Topwater will get some bigger fish usually, as will rip baits and blades. Otherwise, go split and drop shotting. Good #s of smaller fish for the drop shotters, if you want quanity over ouality. Wind and skiers are making for mudlines all across the lake. Staysees and blades in the line where clear and mud meets, and Senkos or dark T-rigs if they won't hit reaction.

      Water Temp: 73

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched 5pm at white oak. Still busy from big weekend! Headed east, fished main lake rock walls and small cuts since most traffic would be in the less windy bays and narrows. Threw spinner baits (windy)...first fish 2.5lbs off isolated wood, then three dinks over 2.5hrs. Getting dark...headed to back bay, threw top water...nothing. Saw schools of shad, crappie slapping around, and people killing the bream and crappie...but no "bass strikes" anywhere. What's up?

On all the smack about tourney guys v/s. non-tourney guys...There will always be different views...let's here them on the Forum page!
      City: San Luis Obispo

Tips: You got me? Margarita can me an absolute mystery at times. Maybe I'll have to learn to fish a drop-shot? Didn't get skunked but nothing to brag about...That's how it's been for me lately. Maybe I need to learn how to fish? Or maybe it's too much pressure from the tourneys? HA:--)

      Water Temp: 56.5 to 61.6

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Gold Coast Bass -- SM Lake Tourney -15 boats- White Oak Launch
      ----------------------
Boats off at 6:02am Cold and foggy morning.
A crisp morning but reports state that the day will clear and sun is on the way -- Hope so -- Sure was cold!

Hit across from launch and started with top water-tried Sammie Shad 1st, then Storm swims with no hits. Switched to plastics and started looking for colors. Hit small dinks on a few fifferent colors but ended up using Watermelon 3X. Hit a keeper and lost a very nice 6+ 3 feet from the boat. [boo hoo]. Tapped out the points and moved to Jackass. Tap - Tap - Tap! All day long with only dinks to show - All the boats we stoped and talked with here in the same situation - dinks. Fished the stickups at the back of the narrows but no hits. Headed back to orginal stop and got more taps and 8 more but only hit 10 1/2 to 12 inchers. Getting late so we hit the store marina area on the walls. Tap - Tap - Tap . One hit but a dink -- Days over at 3:30 with one in. Sad-
Winners: 16+ on 5/Big fish was 6.4 All winners fish were caught on watermelon color hooked Wacky.
      City: Santa Maria

Tips: Robo worms were out today -- NADA. Some fish on swims but only a few in the narrows.

Todays big bite was on Watermelon color - 3X worked well on 14# Sensaline. Cast it and leave it lay - Them two or three cranks in then let it lay.

      Water Temp: 67 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished Castaic Sunday. Forecast said winds NNW 10-20 mph. Lots of boat traffic. Cool in the morning with some wind. Picky worm bite 5-20 ft. Oxblood. Worm fishing is so boring. By lunch time I had two fish, one dink and a 2 lber. By 1:30 lake was totally calm. Lookin' grim. At 1:45 wind came up out of NW. Picked up chart spinner bait. No takers. Lots of just hatched fry near bushes. Switched to white spinner bait with translucent green/blue in skirt. A 4 lber smacked it big time. Continued to fish near walls with hanging bushes. Bite got better. Fish were just nailing that spinner bait. Quit at 6:30 .... ended up with 14 bass. Only one dink hit spinner bait. Rest were all cookie cutter 2-4 lbers. Lots of fun. Great day considering boat traffic.
      City: Oak Park

Tips: IF you get wind start throwing reation baits around hanging bushes. Later in the day it doesn't seem to matter. Fish came up from 10 feet to surface.

      Water Temp: 69.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started out about 6am. tried to get out before the crowd. Headed to B Rock and fished a zara spook in baby bass color. Just one strike, but missed'em. Started throwing a Rapala dives-to in bluegill. Caught a good spot, 'bout 3.5 lbs boucing the crank off the rocks. Caught another spot, 1.5 lb, on a 5" robo worm in bold bluegill color on a Texas. That was about it a B rock. Headed towards Snake creek about 10 am and caught another 1.5 walking the Zara spook. Boy did he hit that thing, came up about 2 ft out of the water to get that thing. Other than that it was slow. I think the amount of boats in the water have made the fish go deeper.

Question? Where did all the largemouths go? Can anyone tell me where to find some bucket mouths or smallies. Thanks
      City: Santa Maria

Tips: Bluegill color seemed to work for me.

Report: Went out the day before Memorial Day weekend (Friday) to beat the crowds. It was already getting pretty hectic, but we stayed in the coves and in the no-wake zones and didn't get hit by too many waves from the skiers. Got some nice spots on a shad/chrome Booyah spinnerbait. All were near wood - trees, lay downs, etc. My friend got some on shaky head worms as well. Got their at 7:30 and we were gone by 12:30 - got about 25 fish total, biggest was only about 2 pounds though.

      Water Temp: 67 to 69

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well we had a mixed bag here this weekend starting with top water early and senko's by 8 am alot of bass are 1 to 2 pounds with a few to 3 but not many. Bass were in 2 to 12 feet of water and the trick is wacky worm your senko with nail weight in nose dead stick it and you will catch more fish. It drops fast but the results are deadly on the bass that are deeper. Watermelon red/black flake ( 208 ) color is been working best. Any cove with grass pockets hold bass also bigger bass are holding off long flat points. The spillway area is holding some good bass also. Lots of water and bank anglers should watch for snakes around tall grass with water been up high.Traffic is heavier on weekends. Park number is 559-673-5151
      City: kerman ca.

Tips: Senko's and weight the nose with a small nail weight wacky style. Top water is still just a litte off but starting to pick up. bank anglers watch for snakes. Any questions e mail here at markinman50@aol.com

Report: Got to the dragon 'bout 6am, fired up ol' reliable and headed to las tablas. Started fishin' about noon( ya caint beat a johnson seahorse fer speed) and wouldn't ya know it a flippin wake board boat is headin my way with 9 whiteboyz whoopin like banshees, and they was pullin a gal behind them what looked to me like a female wrassler. The music of Notorious B.I.G. was so loud that I didn't even hear the first wave that crashed over the bow, I tell ya what , now I'm pissed. My half a bag of stank-bait and what was left of a bagel, with the other half of the stank-bait spread nice and even, nearly washed out of the boat. And to my horror they was commin' back for another pass! Now I can't tell ya how many times buddies that fish with me have asked why I have a "rocket propelled grenade" under the front seat of my boat. Well sir, I stood on my homemade 1/4 inch plywood front casting deck and in the crosshairs I could read the words as clear as day OFFICIAL U.S. OPEN TOW BOAT.Putting my finger on that trigger was the same excitin feelin as when I first held Beulah's hand in my own. I squeezed and BBBBUUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ !
The neon green numbers ont the alarm clock read 4:30. Whoa I best git up I'm goin fishin today!!
      City: bakersfeeld

Tips: Don't eat Dominoes w/extra chovies at 11:00 the night before you go fishing!!!

Report: Lots of skiers for sure, but lots of bass too. me and my buddy had spots up to 2 lbs on senkos, plastics, topwater, cranks, blades. basically everything we used. my partner busted the fish of the trip immediately on the first day with a senko - a really fat 3-12 spot. most of the fish were hanging around trees, but we got quite a few fish on points - any point. a couple dock fish too. topwater best early/late of course. saw only one small school of shad in 2 days. a few whites mixed in. no smallies or largies at all. light tackle is the way to go...
      City: SB

Tips: 6-8 lb. spinning rod with a 4 inch senko is awfully hard to beat
