      Water Temp: 68-70

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Definitely a fishing day I want to forget. My partner and I finished dead last in the NBW tournament. The Friday before the tournament, I fished El Cap for the first time in months, and I got two nice fish (about 3 lbs each) on a 4.5" Senko in pumpkinseed. I was pitching into the brush/rock near shore. I cut the hook after the second fish and continued to get bit all day, but it was the only pattern I had. It didn't pan out on Saturday though, and obviously we didn't make the necessary adjustments.
      City: Monterey, CA

Tips: After thinking it through, we stuck to that Senko pattern for too long, trying to force it to work. My partner is a good dropshotter, but he couldn't get bit either. I probably fished the worms way too fast and simply couldn't give up on the Senko (I even Carolina Rigged it to no avail). My advice (for what it's worth) is to not stick with something that isn't working! Downsize your tackle and try 4" worms in the typical San Diego colors (brown, blue, black, green, purple).

      Water Temp: 58-61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: We had a great day on the pond. We caught fish all day on just about everything we threw. We started off fish main lake points throwing splash it's. We caught 10 top water fish before the sun came up. We then spent time ripping and throwing yamamoto grubs in the back of some of the creeks. We had a 60+ fish day between the two of us. Mostly spotted bass up to two pounds.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Dart headed grubs and small rip baits dominated. Look for shallow ledges and let the grub come off the bank and fall down the ledge. the fish will pick it up and swim off with it.

Report: Pre Fished for next week tourney --

A kwel and a bit fohhy morning and I was forced to put on my snow pants!
Water was clear and I really didn't seen anu signs of muddy water even in the back narrows. A few boats out on a 'fun' tourney with a lot of locals trying out for a $20 a head pot.

A tough bite! Used robo Ox blood drop shot and maybe a few nibbles. Talked with sevral boats and pickins were slim. Only saw three people with keepers at the White Oak dock. Just a tough bite - Used up every color combo in my bag with only a few dinks to show and one pretty nice crappie. My partner was out as well but didn;t get a chance to ask how it went -- Guess we will know come next Saturday.

      Water Temp: 57 to 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The senko bite here is pretty much the bait of choice for spawning bass to 3 pounds. The bass are in 3 to 8 feet of water and are hitting watermelon and junebug colors. Blades are also working in the 5 mph area. Any shallow water flats are holding bassand some good cover is also holding good bass. Bank fisherman should be on the look out for rattle snakes as its starting to warm up. Lots of water and traffic is not bad on the weekends.
      City: kerman ca.

Tips: Senko's, lizards, spinnerbaits, topwater there all working now fish and area and take your time there some nice bass here to catch. markinman50@aol.com

Report: Drop shotted and split shotted south end main lake points. Caught fish on every one point. It did not seem to matter much which technique we used. Surprised how much the water has cleared up. We had about 15 foot visibility. Caught our fish with 3

Tips: Seemed bigger worms with darker colors early and smaller worms with translucent colors once the sun was up high was the way to go. Good luck!
