Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Not many species are native, who really cares. It is true that the SMB are screwing up the kokanee fishery. If the SMB grew a little larger in the lake, then they might be nice to fish, but you have to fish through about a 100 fish to find one over 12 inches. They arent worth the space and resources in the lake.
      City: Fresno

Tips: Catch up the smallmouth, and eat the Kokanee...taste a heck of a lot better

Report: got to the lake at 6am and headed to white oaks launch ramp. lake was very muddy and still overflowing. Some out of towners had a tourney and I dont tkink they did very well. started off the day with a fat 6.7 on the main lake. then got a nice 3 back towards the river. hooked into what i thought was a huge trout but it was a mud fish and went about 5 pounds. it was a very tough and slow day. around noon i hooked into a good fish, she went 4.7 lbs. shortly after i hooked the most ugly bass i have ever caught. the 1 lb male was so beat up he loked like he was protecting a nest and was having to fight off all kinds of fish. it began to rain around 3 so i headed in. ended up with about 15 lbs. with the four fish. when the sun comes out, the rain stops and the lake clears, its going to go off!!! tight lines to everyone

Tips: wait a week and it will be awsome, if the conditions improve.

      Water Temp: 57 to 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took today off between storms to fish Nacimiento. Launched at 6:30 AM and began fishing the shore line east of Snake Creek. Began the day throwing a suspending jerk bait for one small spot then switched a jig for no takers. Finally started shaking a 1/8 oz dart head and caught about (7) 2lb class spots. The fish didn't want a lot of movement so I would cast and shake for several seconds and then dead stick. That turned out to be a killer technique for today, so good that I lost count of the number of fish I caught, probably about 50 fish. Most fish from a pound and three quarters to two and a half pounds. All fish caught on the main lake, mostly points and walls just inside the major creeks. Never went any further than Las Tables. Best baits were Robo body shad in baby bass and arrons magic.
      City: Bakersfield

Tips: Don't be afraid to dead stick as long as 20 seconds. Watch your line and lift your rod slowly occasionally to detect loading.

      Water Temp: 52 to 54

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Saturday senko's were the choice and also junebug lizards were working on bass to 2 pounds . Bass are shallow in 5 to 18 feet and the lake level is very high and the dam area and around the campsite area are holding most of the bass here. Slow down and work these areas wacky worm was the best way to fish senko's with pegged nail weight in nose of senko colors here are junebug, watermelon red/black flake and black/blue, brown & purple bass are shallow and holding on flats and around rock piles here try the shallow brush piles here also the bass are in them.
      City: kerman ca

Tips: Fish much slower now as the storms here have stained the water even more also look for trash in thewater here as it is floating under the water and it harder to see in the darker water. senko's & lizards are my choice here. any questions e mail me at markinman50@aol.com

      Water Temp: 53.6

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Really slow day -- Lake at 85% now - Influx of water has fish on the move and bite is tough. Headed to Vasquez but water was really coffee and started with a 8" chartruse tail plastic. Only one tap! Moved off and headed for better visable water South of the dam and around the corner and across from the point just South of the logged off area. Used up ideas of how to get a reaction bite in this really muddy condition. Only one small dink to fess up to. Headed to the flats off Whitenburg- 2-3 boats fishing the stickup's but never saw anything being taken.
      City: Santa Maria

Tips: Let the lake settle a bit -- Some reports on Sunday the 9th said fishing was better... Sorry I didn't go again! Hit Cachuma next week.

      Water Temp: 52 to 54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The fishing here was been good on bass to 3 pounds but this last storm slowed them some what and the water level came up about 7 feet from last saturday. Senko's are the the bait of choice and lizards and brushogs are a close second. watermelon and junebug both work right now in water from 5 to 15 feet fine a cove you find bass in them traffic is light on weekends. SWIMBAIT FISH ARE THERE FOR PEOPLE WILLING TO TRY. There are some big bass here to be caught if anglers are willing to try no traffic means these bass are up shallow and going to stay now.
      City: kerman ca

Tips: Work long points here and there lots of flats also brush piles and around rock piles the water level is high and there plenty of areas to fish.

      Water Temp: 49

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: A.B.A. had a bass tourment on saturday,4-1. Only 7 boats showed up, the weather conditions were one of the main concerns of the tournment with the wind blowing hard and about 2-3 foot waves things were pretty slow with only 2 bass being caught in the tourny. Bill Heinz caught a 8.66 lbs
bass and won. Good job Bill. I fished but not in the tourney and caught 3 bass that day for for about 51/2 to 6 lbs , that was saturday.
Now on sunday it was a little differt. Wind did not blow near as hard saw a couple of friends on the water after I had caught my 9lb 7 3/4 oz. bass
you know just had to show it off.
      City: lake isabella , ca

Tips: the fish are trying to get up on bed, when the weather premits. Fish in 4-8 ft range. Jigs and spinner baits are the way to go, atleast so far

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Pre fished Margarita looking for bed and holding fish for this months end tourney - Cool AM temps - Water temp was 53.2 at 7AM crusing to about 56 for the mid-day temp. Worked narrows early AM with only small dinks to brag about. Robo Bold Bluegill worked on these stick-up fish. Hit areas at 1st dock on the walls with cranks - Pulled in my very 1st 4.6 pound on a black and blue buzz - Only seemed to work once - Probably a crusing fish. Lots of Bluegill in the 20 to 10 foot range so used a bigger Robo with a 3/0 gama hook. Landed one more 3# but it was a hit and miss deal. Fish are there but never really hit a stable patteren. Day turning gloomy so I headed to the dock at 2:30. Hit rain coming back in Pismo. Will try again this Saturday weather permitting.
      City: Santa Maria

Tips: -- Keep looking on the inlets -- Saw a guy with two nice 5 and 7 pounders taken off the inlets back by the narrows. Naturally, he wouldm't fess up to the bait used. Oh well -- Keep pluggin....

      Water Temp: 58 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Pre fished San Antonio today. Mostly sunny after about 3 days of rain. Foggy in the morning but cleared off about 9:00. Fish are moving up with the males making a few beds but are not locked on yet. I had 12 keepers with my best 5 going about 13 lbs. The bigger females were not to be found yet. There was alot of activity on the lowrance in about 20 feet of water but no takers. This should get real good in a couple weeks as the water warms and we get a stable, clear weather pattern.
      City: Paso Robles

Tips: When going down a bank fishing for bass that are moving up, make long casts out in front of the boat next to cover. A 3/8 oz jig with a YUM twin tail trailer has a slow fall, scent in the plastic trailer and got all the bigger fish.

We also had 3 on lite green pumpkin 3/8 oz football head jig w/yamamoto watermelon red/black flake single tail grub as are trailers. It was a tuff day on the lake and traffic was light the bass are shallow but the storm yesterday slowed the bite. The lake is high and they are letting water out slowly. It well get better if this weather will stay nice but there morestorm on there way this week.
