Report: Top Water Bite was on!! got at the lake at 6am (Had to wait a bit longer for someone to open the gate) and fished the rest of the day till about dark. Threw Spooks ALL day. That was the only lure i used. Lost a fish early on at the point nea the docks, the fish still has my Bleeding Shad Super Spook, so someone might end up with a nice lure soon!! Spooks in Baby Bass, Frog, and just about any other pattern worked for us. we fished just about all the Arms. The Carson (I think the name of it is) seemed to produce the most fish. Fish were all very shallow. There is a lot of trees sticking up as well to throw the spook around. Caught a lot of fish, all throughout the day. most fish were over 3lbs and also caught quite a few 4 pound fish and a couple fish that went about 5 pounds.
      City: Lincoln

Tips: Super Spooks, most of the fish were goin for the bigger Spooks. Cast as close to shore, let the Spook sit for a bit, start working it and wait for the blow-up!

Report: Ed and I get to the lake just as the gates open at 8am. While driving down the boat ramp, we noticed the five foot decrees from where the water line was a few weeks ago. Let me tell you, the water level was not the only thing that changed. The fish were behaving completely different compared to my recent trips. In spite of the warm weather, most of the grass has vanished. As a result of the grass dying off, the bass have really started to scatter. Points, coves, main lake, or the ends of the lake, wherever we went we picked up a few. The key right now is to find the bait that is balled up, whether that is in 5 or 50 feet.
The first two hours we moved fast and threw reaction baits, such as topwater, crankbaits, and ripbaits. Only catching a few small fish, we soon realized we needed to slow down. Using a 3 inch senko on a drop-shot Ed caught several fish, including one just under 5lbs and one just over 3lbs. At 5pm, before we headed in, we came across a school of bass busting bait. Casting poppers to the shaded main lake point we caught a few more, leaving the days total at around 20 bass.

      Water Temp: 64-67

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Wind made it impossible for me to get out of Capell cove and made it difficult to control the boat with my whimpy 12 volt trolling motor. But hey its better than sitting at home watching football! Did manage a 6 pound catfish on a jig and two 2 lb bass on a sexy shad.
      City: Sonoma

Tips: If the wind stays around, know you not going to get too far if you launch @ Capell, Waves were 4 foot easy. And a 12 volt trolling motor is no match for those 30+ mph winds.

Report: Fished yesterday at the Delta only to find the fishing was tough!! The NCCC was won with a combined weight from SIX two man teams of (23/30 fish) for 48.9 lbs. The second Place team had (23/30 fish) for 48.6 lbs. The weight for this event is usually double that. A lot of teams without limits and the the wind never stopped blowing. The water temp dropped to 56 degrees at Russo's at blast off and warmed only to 58 degrees by weigh-in.

      Tips: Stay home!!!!

Report: I was up at Rodman last weekend and ran into the county workers hooking the carp from the shore line. I asked what was going on with the die off. They said it had something to do with the vegatation dieing off and the lack of oxygen and the fish not getting any. Other than that the fishing was really bad. I caught 7 all day on a jerk bait. The biggest went a wopping 6 inches. What a bad day.

Report: Hello all, Well we just back from 3 days of clear lake and it was BRUTAL!! we threw everything and got a total of 4 fish in the boat!....little ones at that. I really don't know what is up with Clear lake this year. On top of that the smell of the rotting carp was at times tough to take. Maybe that has something to do with it, has anyone heard what has caused the die off? the only good news was we laughed alot and made fun of each other for sucking so bad at fishing. Even the tournament guys had very little action.

Report: Skunked. Periodically very gusty. Had a blowup on a frog in the back of the lake near an isolated grass top 20' off the bank, but that was it. Nothing on cranks, blades or jigs.

Around 2pm I slipped and put my hand down on a Rapala DT10 and sank a hook into it. Nice sharp hooks. Figured that was a clue to call it a day and visit the local Emergency Room. Big shot of Novacaine (ouchy), hook cut out, tetanus shot and I'm on my way. Not a good day, but still better than working.

Report: Went out all day 10/11 Sat and caught 18 between 2 of us. All but 2 were very small (1 1/2 pounders) The other 2 were almost 3lbs. Did well with dart heading-6" margarita Mutilator Lipless crankbait did ok. Several on the flick shake. Rippen early in the morning with a little luck. Sat, the wind was pushing the boat quite a bit. The trolling motor got a workout. The wind was so bad sat afternoon we went in about 5pm.
Sunday went out for just a few hours and caught 8.
There was no wind at all on Sunday. Most all of the fish were at the 12 to 15 foot range. A few were right on the shore. This lake is VERY LOW. Hope we have a wet winter to fill it up.
      City: Elk Grove

Tips: Stay around 12 to 15 foot deep. The bite was light on the dart head. Give it time.
