Report: Camped rom Friday through Sunday. Had a great trip. Fishing was slow as we were working or reaction ish and water was still pretty cold. Picked up a ew hens in the trees and western coves, but in deeper water. No crappie, to be expected with the water so cold. Sorry to say we got 5 squaw ish rom 1.5-3 lbs. Never got so many so large. Not a good sign or the bass ishery.

Tips: Water should warm over the next several weeks. Bass bite should come on real soon now.

Report: Launched out o Eagle Pass at irst light. No wind went to the let side o dam to try top water.Used 6 lb. on an ulra light with a ly rod size hula popper and boated 12 bass. One about 14" the rest under 12".Ater sun got to high I started trolling and during the next 4 hours I caught 1-14" spot and a 15" large mouth- 5 more bass that were not keepers. Caught 3 channel cats 2-at 15" and 1-at 4lbs.Also caught about 20 squaw ish and the were ull o very small ry,they really are very hard on the bass and crappi ry. I kill them because o the damage they do to the ishery.Only one ishing and only saw 3 other boats.Great day.

Report: havent been here since late eb.(once, but ished here all o last late summer and all with much success.) started at anglers cove, was suprised to see how much water in the lake, it had never been this ull. early morning bass were eeding on top, practically jumping in boat but could not hook up on them with anything. hooked up a ew cats on some crankbaits which is quite usual on this lake. went to ish the ledges on the other side and cruise the coves that never had water in them beore. recreational boaters please watch were the #^#$%^# you are going, we isherman may have to retaliate with some pinpoint snag-your-ass casting. was dragging a perch pattern rattletrap and caught a healthy crappie to 3lbs. went back to anglers cove late aternoon and deadsticked Senkos or an hour on so. caught 6 largemouth to 15-1/2"

Tips: varieties o crankbaits in perch, baby bass or iretiger use to work here steadily as well as some inese worms. work the lower end o the shallows to 16 eet. good luck with topwaters, you'll need it.

Report: Wind howling in early morning couldn't get in until around noon. Fished North side o main body East o marina around tules and ound a 3 pounder and a 15" er on brown and orange jig with a split tail trailer. Brother in law caught a 2 lber on a small shad colored swim bait. Tried reaction baits but no luck. Only my second time on the lake so I haven't got the pattern down yet. The scenery is the reason I like this lake so much. Looking east over the dam you can see snow covered Mount Lassen and looking North you can see Mount Shasta. The dam is built between two buttes that are the home to many predatory birds, and watching them sail in the wind will sometimes take your mind o the slow ishing.
