Report: Went out searching or some early morning striper action w topwaters. Worked grass lines at low/incoming tide inside Franks. Saw quite a ew small boils but the big girls just weren't there or me, yet. Switched to a shad pattern mag-trap and started ripping through the grass. Kathunk! Solid w/ deliberate head shakes, this was no striper I thought. A ew jumps later and I had an 8.2lb largi in my hands. Not a bad conselation prize. Managed a ew more 1-2.5 lb ish on the trap, o the water by 10am...

Report: Fished a club turkey shoot with my 11 year old son. His irst tournament. We did real good. Threw rogs, buzzbaits and spooks with lots o blow-up and a poor hook-up ratio. We caught over 20 ish, but alot dinks. I did take 2nd with 3 ish or 10.55 with a 6.55# rog ish. Niko caught his own limit and got the chance to weight ish in or the irst time. A athers dream.. To ish with his son. We will be ishing "The HOOK" together, so see you all out there.
    City: Fremont

Tips: Throw that rog at low tide. Look or the weedline and hang on.

Report: Launched out o Orwood at irst light and headed toward Mildred. Threw Black/Red persuader buzzbait and POPr or the irst two hours. Caught one big ish (7lbs) on buzzer and lost two in the 14-15 inch range...Threw POPr and caught several dinks and two small keepers. All in all about 12 bites between the two. Let the area and began exploring looking or weedline with deeper water (10-20) eet. Found our areas that looked good and two produced ish. Caught a 3+ on drop shot and a 2.5 on spinnerbait (slow rolled). Managed to catch a number o dinks with other small keepers mixed in. Caught 25+ ish in 7+ hours.
    City: Discovery Bay

Tips: Topwater early or big bite/s. Drop shot, worms, and spinnerbait all worked with some degree o regularity. Best worm/drop shot colors were dark in nature (black/red, purple, green, brown). Enjoyed the lack o boat traic.Stay sae. TG

Report: Friday - Launched out o Orwood and started catching ish not long ater...Fished the middle Delta using Frogs, Worms, Spinnerbait, Buzzbait, etc. The only bait we didn't throw was a crank and it would have worked. Caught a 5 ish limit well over 20lbs. 3(rog ish)4 & 5 lbs, 1 (5+) on Buzzbait, 2 on ripbait, 2 on Spinnerbait, 25+ on red/black worm and drop shot. Fished weedlines with deep water drop os. Tom caught 5 ish over 4.5 on worms working his magic. Great day on the water. Keys were depth with thick weedlines.Monday - Launched out o the break and threw buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, rogs, and drop shot. Caught a skinny limit 10lbs with only 1 blow up on the rog (2lbs) which I caught...2 buzzer ish (1 big...1 small)...12+ on the spinnerbait rom 1.5-2 lbs...and 20+ on drop shot...up to 2lbs. Topwater just wasn't working well today as we didn't have time to wait or the bottom o my low or the bigger rog bites. We had a un day and scratched out a ew ish. What a dierence a couple days make.
    City: Discovery Bay

Tips: Frogs, Spinnerbait (wh/ch), and worms with curly tails seem to make the ish attack. Red/black and watermelon are the colors o choice in the worm selection. Fish the baits real slow including the rog. The better ish seem to eat it when it alls on top o them and just sits or a ew moments. Work deep grass in open water or better rog bites. Drop shot will always catch ish and the quality will luctuate rom dinks to 5+ lbs. Stay sae...TG

Report: Drove all the way to paradise Point rom San Francisco late night saturday - got on the water in my little inlatable at 12:30 AM - went up Bishop cut and saw carp (and a whole messload o beaver!!) rolling everywhere, but couldn't ind the bass. First time ever ishing on the Delta at night, and my lack o experience showed. Cruised slowly up to White's, spent most time dragging a senko and throwing a buzzbait, but no luck. Clept on the water or a ew hours, then started ishing in white's at sunrise. Got a ew dinks back in the weeds, and one rog hit (and miss) at high tide. Still can't seem to igure out how/where/when to get the rog hits. I've tried mats thick and thin mats with red duckweed, nasty yellow cheese, and plain hydrilla. I've thrown at mats near the rock walls and those in near islands with no rocks. But just no luck in general. neded up making my way to disappointment slough where I caught a 3+ lb bass on a trap, then cruised all the way down to 14-mile slough and hauled in 15 dinks on a trap. All in all, probably got around 20 ish, most 12 inches or so, with around 5 in the 1.5-3+ range. Fun day (but really want to catch that rog ish!!) Enjoy!!
    City: San Francisco

Tips: Early AM senkos in the shallows worked well, but as the wind picked up I couldn't position my boat to ish these areas. Shad patterned traps on the outside edges o the weeds seemed great at low tide. Still looking to get that topwater bite that seems so great or more experienced Caliornia ishermen!!

Report: We hit the water around 7:30am out o Paradise Point. Only a ew boats on the water throughout the morning and early aternoon. Our group had three boats on the water or 8 guys, each boat was pretty successul. As a group we our best 5 ish probably total 20lbs (6#, 2x4# and 2x2#). Lot's o dinks that kept us interested all day. I ished Senkos (dark w/ red lakes), buzz bait, and top water. Most ish were caught on Senkos and plastics. Where I saw bait ish hitting the surace, buzz bait worked well. We had a great day on the water! Thanks guys or our annual gathering on the delta....see ya at the amily reunion this weekend.

Tips: I you see a ishing licensing loating on the water, it's probably mine. Does anyone know how to obtain a replacement? I have my 2003 pink receipt.

Report: Went out in my tin bote with Durbin or hal days Thursday and Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. As with other olks' reports, the ishing was outstanding. 25-30 ish on Thursday aternoon in only a couple o hours o ishing. Biggest around 4lbs. 20-25 ish on Friday aternoon, biggest around 3lbs. Saturday a bit slower, but still excellent, around 30 ish, up to 3lbs. Sunday was huge, must have caught around 70 ish, up to 4lbs again, on each day caught lots o small keepers, dinks, and enough 1.5-2+lb ish to make decent bags each day. Missed several large ish, with Durbin missing an absolute MONSTER Sunday morning, but redeeming himsel with numerous quality ish later that day. I'm not a topwater an, or wasn't until I went out with Durbin, but have now been converted. Many o our better ish came on topwater baits. We caught them on nearly everything we threw, I got on a nice jig bite-my avorite way to ish in multiple areas. We ished pretty much Delta wide, rom Del's to Tower Park, and Taylor to White's/Disappointment areas. Launched rom Holland or Ladd's. All in all, Sunday was one o the best days or numbers mixed in with decent ish I've had in years. Have to thank Durbin or helping me to learn a new technique and or showing me new types o structure/cover to consider or ish and appropriate methods to use on these types o spots. Get out there!Good luck, and God bless,Rob T
    City: El Granada

Tips: Basically we got ish wherever the water was moving, with some clarity. Then, depending on depth and cover we ished the appropriate baits. Caught ish on topwaters, spinnerbaits, medium and shallow running crankbaits, jigs, senkos, rattletraps, didn't try other plastics, since everything else was working real well.

Report: Sarted o down south hiting my conidence spots with topwater. Very ew takers and those were rats. Bounced around a bit and ended up in the middle delta area. Bite was late morn or us, once the tide started to all. My irst was a 3+ on a super spook, my only spook bite that day. Shortly ater my girlriend stuck what should have been our big ish o the day. A 5-6 lb class ish on a buzzbait but armed it. Ouch! I inally switched over a stuck a 4 on a buzzbait. Tried some roggin but the mats and weeds in my avorite spots are all gone,, the've been spraying a lot recently. Between noon and 2 we lipped a deep tule wall. Lots o bites. Mostly little guys, picked up another 4+ and a ew 2's. Best ive around 15lbs, the big one would have put us around 18-19lbs.... would-a,should-a,could-a...Next time!

Report: On the water at irst light again, should have slept an extra hour as the bite started o slow. Began to pick up a ew 1-2lb ish on buzzers. Just as I pointed out the spot my 6.1 on wed came rom to my girlriend, another Kawooosh!! Horsed this one straight to the boat (that's the beauty o ishing topwater on an 8' lip stick w/50lb braid). Weighed in at 6.14, on a white buzzer. Piked up another 3something and the rest rats. About 15 boated today, best ive close to 15lbs. o the water by 11. I've been spoiled ishing weekdays and almost orgot how many skiers are out there.

    Water Temp: 70-75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished down south tues & weds morn rom 5:30 till 9:30 (I love this new swing shit gig). Topwater bite started o a bit slow which I attributed to the recent drop in water temp. Almost an hour beore our irst bite but it was worth it, a double hook-up. A iesty 6.6 or me on the super spook and a solid 3 or my partner on a buzzer. As the morn temps warmed so did the buzzbait bite. We inished with close to 25 boated and just over 16lbs or our best ive. Wed morn, same partner in back, hit the same spots only colder temps and breezy. Again, the bite was slow or about an hour with a ew 1's and 2's on buzzers then kawooosh!!! My rod doubled and then went completely slack. I panicked or second thinking I lost her and rantically tried to reel up the slack. She was still there and on her way to deep water. It's amazing how ast these big girls can move. I called or the net and watched my partned swat not once, not twice, but three times beore I couldn't take it and grabbed her. I think he was actually trying to knock her o and we all know how much bigger these ish look with their gills laring when airborn. 6.1lbs in desparate need o anger management. Although we both agreed that had he knocked her o with his sloppy net job she would have been an easy 8. At least the scale keeps us honest. As the morn temps pickep up, so did the bite. Boated 12-15 with three more over 3lbs and the rest 1's and 2's. Best ive in the high 16's.
    City: TRACY

Tips: Topwater! Topwater! Topwater! Look or grass near deeper water, most o our ish were out away rom the bank. Work slow and deliberate when it's calm and very aggressively when its blowing.
