Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: We started around 10 a.m. up north, but I got blown o the lake. I ound a cove to hide rom the wind, but caught no ish. The wind died down a little, so I igured I better try better places while I had the chance. We ished the Island by the peninsula and caught 3 in about a 45 min. all were good ish (2lbs.) 1 was a smallie the other two spots. They ought like hell, and made good dives under the boat too. Anyway that spot didn't last long, we moved up the peninsula ,and got 1 largemouth and here comes the wind again. We went over to browns area, and my girlriend does it again, and catches a 3.5 largemouth. We quit right ater because o the wind. This was the best day we've had in a ew weeks out here. Finally some agressive ish eventhough we didnt get to many. P.S. I understand both sides o the gaswasters debate that you guys are talking about. But a couple o months ago some kids come cruising up to us while we were ishing, and they were on a wave runner. They asked where dyke 8 was, so I started to tell them and the bastards come lying at us soaked my girlriend and I pretty badly. The deck o my boat was soaked with all my stu out in the open. Unortunately my 60hp tracker can't catch the wave runner and it is probably a good thing, but these people don't have a whole lotta respect or the ishermen. Any way good luck ishin.
City: El Dorado HillsTips: We caught all o the ish on 4 inch oxblood magic worms. In the 10 to 18 eet range.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: As usual, the morning was still elsewhere except at Folsom. Went up the North Fork looking or lat water and inally ound some with rocky points on the north side. I had a good topwater bite until 6:30 AM on a small, shallow running plug (an old Poe plug) and caught our 13 to 15 inch Spots. Then it just quit. Finally on a very small crank bait, I caught three more around six inches! I was home by ten. Nothing doing on plastics --tried magic worms and rootbeer grubs.First skiers went by about 6:45. I hate the jet skis too but its worse when some guy in a ranger revs up all 200hp to show you how much boat he has. At least the jet skiers don't understand...

Report: Fishes rom a loat tube along the rock banke close to the Folsom Point launch ramp. Arived around 8:00 am stayed till noon. Caught iteen ish drop shotting keeper worms. All the ish were legal but just barely, only one largemouth the rest were spots. Lots o short strikes.
City: SacramentoTips: The color worm I was useing was clear with a light purple blood-line. To cut down on short strikes i went to 2 inch reepers but that might explain why all the ish I caught were just legal.

Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: SLOW day, thought with the cooler water temp that the ish would be more active. We lauched at 5 am and ish Rattlesnake Bar, getting two ish on spooks, and two on poppers right away. Nothing or the next hour. Hooked into a 5+ pounder on a luke in the brush, lost him in the trees... Very upsetting... Started throwing magic worms, getting bitten in hal, all small ish. Only got one ish to the boat. Went back lipping and pitching in the trees with lukes and jigs, to no avail. Wind picked up, so we started cranking crawdad rattletraps and chatruese hot n' tots: Nothing... Wind got real bad, so we called it a day. So, we only got 5 ish, but it was still a day on the water, which always makes you better. Good luck!
City: vacavilleTips: Throw spooks in the morning or big ish, then switch to lukes in the timber, many ish chasing lukes. Slow down, and let your bait die. Good luck!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I ished out near the rattlesnake bar launch ramp rom a small pontoon boat with my son. I caught one 1.5#er on a salt n pepper magic worm. It seems like the only way to catch ish at Folsom is magic worms. Anybody else have good luck with other lures? I'd love to catch ish on something else here!
City: antelopeTips: Magic worms, again and again and again...

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started the day throwin spooks and stuck a 5 and a hal right in the irst ew casts. went down that bank a little urther but no more ish. sun came up & out so went lookin or bed ish. ound about 10 or so. ish on beds were caught on senkos and drop shot chartruese gitzits. should've probably lipped the willows but wanted to bed ish so i will do that next time.
City: SacramentoTips: don't spend all day bed ishin unless you know where they are all at because they were ew and ar between or me. smaller ish are still shallow and bigger ish have moved back into deeper water.

Water Temp: nice!
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Who else but personal watercrat operators would do great things like rip behind your boat over your lures when trolling? Or buzz between the bank and my boat 40 t. away when I am working that area. To call these peoplle maggots is an insult to maggots.
City: Gold RiverTips: When ishing in an area inested with personal watercrat use a spiderwire type line. I you get real lucky with a cast, decapitation may result.

Report: Mark - Not all jet skiers are lake maggots! I you want some better ishing try going somewhere else. Besides, what did you expect on a holiday weekend? The weekday evenings and early mornings are very pleasant on olsom lake. Besides Folsom is a big lake and there are several areas to ish where jet skiers don't ski. Maybe it's not the skiers that are ruining your ishing but perhaps your technique or equipment! I am an avid bass isherman and jet ski owner. Your misconceptions might be the bad experciences you have had, but it's unair to act like Folsom belongs to you and the bass.

Report: My dad and a riend took me out to Folsom or my birthday. What a day. Started irst light in Rattlesnake arm. Fished rock piles, only got ish shaking worms. Moved into the willows in the coves. I took the advice o another NCBF nutcase and threw Morning Dawn Magic worms. Stuck two 2 1/2's and a nice 4 pounder within about an hour in the willow trees, and I mean IN the willow trees. Only stayed until noon, but what a birthday.
City: Nevada CityTips: Morning Dawn is the ticket, everything else wasn't producing as many ish. In the willow trees.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished South Fork Wednesday evening. All o the Spots and occasionallarge mouth we have been sticking were shut o. Started down sizingbaits. We started picking spots up throwing white crappie jigs.Caught 10 spots 1.5 to 2.5. I have been ishing Folsom or at least 10 years, even though at times I hate the Lake. I saw more boat traicon Wednesday evening then I have seen on the week ends in years past. The ramp was the biggest circus I have ever seen, including some guy tryingto back down on top o my Champion. I you are going to Folsom beware, the idiotsare out in ull orce.
City: El Dorado HillsTips: Fish are very lethargic. Grubs and reapers are usually the ticketthis time o year but nada. I you can't eed them a mealeed them a snack.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I started up north, ishing all the looded rock piles. We caught a couple, but nothing to brag about. Tried a new spot arther up and caught a couple more. I decided to try the peninsula campground area, and got into some spots and smallmouth spitting up shad. We tried one more area by the south ork, and got a nice smallie on a pop r at 2:30 and 120 degrees. My guess is either late or early, because I only got two good ish. good luck.
City: El Dorado HillsTips: Pink, salt&pepper, chartruese tails, or anything in a shad imitator.Fish wind blown banks.

Report: No report on this lake, however or non regular visitors be aware this is the season or intense recreational boating- the kind you get with over a million people and only one lake. Got a report on Clearlake in a minute. I'm a weekend warrior and my outings here in the summer are early morning and they are capped o by a little ramp rage at the end sometimes. it's a volitile situation- 19 year olds bloated with testosterone rom aluent amilies trying to launch thier wake board boats and me trying to get mine back on the trailer. At Brown's Ravine the main ramp that has adaquate size is under water during the summer- that engineer was a genius, leaving only the steep, narrow sailboat ramp. These boys try to see around their rack bristling with equipment (they look like russian ishing trawlers) and it makes or a circus. I'll be out there only occationally rom now until September. Submitting these reports has worked out great. My riends have stopped talking to me- wow, the power o the internet. Fished a club tournament a Clearlake. Once lived in Ukiah (now you undertand) and ishing Clearlake takes me back a decade or so. I was in a club there, and back in the day we had a couple decent anglers. One o them, Jim Reese, has a kid brother that's a air country stick. I decided to go as a boater this time- I had all that current experience to all back on. Such is the luck o the draw or the non-boater. Four ish or 11.5lbs. Beore the trip I consulted with a couple buddies. one suggeted the post spawn conditions might require ultra inesse techniques like weightless plastic worms and small poppers. I'm ok with that as long as nobody sees me. At the end o a worthless preish day I was in a slough looking desperately or shallow, dirty water action when low, hung on a reed was a popper somebody snagged. I was lipping so I was close and I could see it wasn't corroded, it was a good color, and it turned out to be an import boutique popper just like my buddy suggested. Game day I tied that bad boy on and two bass a 3.5 and 2.5. Not in the slough- a clear water area. My partner wasn't exactly a ish magnet either except later when we started on a point at Clearlake Oakes Beach Club and Resort. Behind the boat a catish rolls up and gives a wink to my partner. It was old and beat-up about 8 t 10lbs and my partner had to wink back. Great. All we needed some deadbeat resort pet beach bum catish globbing on to us. I put the trolling motor on high and motored a couple hundred yards accross the bay and he showed up again! From then on our Karma was shot- no action rom 9am on. My partner nailed a 4.5 and a keeper on a Senko and he was done by 6:30. Maybe we should not have blown o the riendly approaches o a harmless old catish looking or some attention. We were in the south out o Redbud and three o the our came rom the Konocti side. Some o the locals are pretty colorul. On practice day I was extracting the treble hooks out o another boats anchor rope again when a ellow on the bank shut down his riding mower. From inside he house someone yells "Hey Vern you're a pretty good whacker!" Vern says "Yeah you ought to see me cut grass too!" true story. At Clearlake signs that say just say no to crack have people pulling up thier Jeans. I Clearlake were a state Je Foxworthy would be govenor.

Report: My partner John Kort and I were coming o the high rom the win at the Delta New Bass Tourney and decided i we got a check on Sat. we would ish the Golden State Tourney on Sun. Well, i you look at my previous reports we had really been on a antastic bite. Sunday, however, really put a damper on the roll we had been on. We started out throwing reaction baits and couldn't bit. We then decided to go deep or ish, thinking that with all the pressure on the lake the ish may have dropped down. By 11 we had 4 ish in the live well and were working hard or the 5th. My partner inally nailed a big spawned out 3.7 pound spot out o the trees in about 15 eet o water that illed our limit at about 1:30. Our 5 ish went about 10 pounds. We ended up catching around 15 ish with most o them being undersized. It just igures that in the last 3 months we hadn't had a limit under 14 pounds and less than 30 ish caught and then come tourney day we have to struggle to get a small limit. Though,I guess you have to expect that when there are 3 boats on every point. I am not sure what won the tourney, but I heard it was around 16 pounds.
City: roseville, caTips: The heavy pressure on the lake this weekend made it a tough time. Golden State Bass puts on a irst class tourney, but really needs to consider having it at a dierent time o the year. There was at least 85 boats in the tourney and then you add the other isherman and the pleasure boaters. Forget it! I have never seen such a mad house in all my lie. It took me an hour and ten minutes to get the damn boat out o the water. I was trapped in my parking stall or 40 minutes beore I even got to merge into the traic. No limit is worth the trip we had on Sunday and I know any o you other guys who were out there would agree.

Report: Fished Folsom on Saturday and what a day. Started out by putting a 3lbs. spot in the boat on a super spook, ollowed by a 2lbs. spot on a chug bug. The bite slowed until we started to throw grubs and ended up with 76 ish. The boat traic was heavy at times but it didn't seem to bother the ish. We lost tons o ish. Oh well those days happen. Any color o grub worked!!!!! Also caught a ew ish on cranks and a spinnerbait. Our 5 biggest went 12lbs. Not a lot o big ish but the majority were keepers; over 13 inches. Can't wait to go back!!!!!!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water about 6pm and started in the north ork throwing plastics in the trees. We didn't do too good on that pattern so we started targeting the rip-rap. This turned out to be the ticket, as we senko'd, ripped and darter headed all three species up to 3 #'s. We quit around 8:30 with about 20 ish. This seems to be the beat that reuses to die this year. We haven't had a trip with less then 20 ish in the past 3 months and most o our trips are 3 hours or less. Folsom has been awesome this year.
City: roseville, caTips: The ish are still up in shallow water. We actually caught 3 or 4 big emale spots that hadn't evened spawned yet.Be prepared to get beat up, as the pleasure boaters are thick

Report: We started out at the peninsula ,and got nothing. The last little cool o must have moved some ish deeper. I didn't even see any ish this time. So we took a drive north,as usual, and got on some ish on a rock pile. There were some willows right by us and so was a 3lb largemouth that got ooled on a pink worm. We decided to move, because ishing was slow, and got blown o the lake. We drove to a less windy cove and hooked into a 2lb and 4lb largemouth. The male looked like someone tried to make him lunch. The emale looked like she was starting to get hungry again ater her spawn. Hopeully this weekend will warm the lake up and turn the ish on. Oh, by the way my girlriend caught the 4lber. Good luck.
City: El Dorado HillsTips: Pink seems to be the color o choice. Rocks and willows always seem to have ish, just not as many this week. I gotta give props to the dude who had an awesome morning with 24lb bag. That is incredible on Folsom.

Report: Oh Man, what a morning!!!! thier are those o us who love Folsom and the others who cannot stand this Lake. It is not a in between ishery ya love it or hate(I love it) For about two and hals hours Saturday I thought I was Dobyns Nah Kevin Van Damn (I am a nitro owner) I caught my ive ish personal best ever 24 lbs. Anchored with a 8.9 Largemouth and backed up with a 5.8 Largie. and Multiple Spots 3 and better. When I hooked the big girl I knew I had a special ish as she was headin deep then then came to the surace ran me Fritts style around the back three times. Upon landing had to go ind somsetone to take pictures, so into the well she went. I ound some nice olks who were in awe o my beaut, I will guess that i she had not spawned out I would inally be in the 10+ class oh well. Pictures taken realeased and back to my rock pile, not three casts later the 5 lber hit, as I got her to the boat I thought I cannot go ask these guys again that would be rubbin salt in a wound So I let her go no Pics. Man what a morning!!!!!!All in All caught 11 ish but like I said 5 or 24 YEA!!!
City: SacramentoTips: All ish came on Rock piles with Flukes and Morning Dawn # 2worms I pour my own, say what you will about sissy Pink but this time o year in post spawn ya gotta throw them.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: 4 ish between 6:00pm and sunset south ork among all the watersports enthusiasts. There was even a cigarette boat. Mount a lipping deck on it and you would have to wave o F-14s. My son graduated to spinning gear and I graduated to a bass over 2lbs. An exhausted, spawned out largemouth on a surace bait o a point. The others came on darterheads. My son has not mastered the spinning technique- He lips the bail over two out o three casts. He has a quota on Luckycrats he can snap o. It's a great excuse or me lacking the nowledge and the ability to ish the trees- my TD minnows would be like ornaments and he'd have the willows lit up like Christmas trees. Kids grow up so ast these days- I was well into my twenties beore I shed my nickname Zebco. One day he will inherit my box o dissassebled Mitchell 300s. My wie says the Serrano Hot Air Balloon event is May 19 & 20. Shucks, got a tournament at Clearlake. Besides last year the brea cheese was too resh and or our bucks, I thought I got the whole bottle o wine. I'm going to keep ishing here to get ready or Clearlake- there's alot o similarites. Water and bass just to name a ew. I was on a business trip to Eureka earlier this week (I emerged rom quarantine with no new diseases)and in one night two o my riends had intimate conversations with my wie about my obsessive ishing habit. I had my Calcutta 51 on my light baitcaster between the seats and I had to move it to answer the cell phone. I said now that's the pot calling the kettle black and no, I was too busy to talk about it. I had my bellyboat in the trunk, blew o my last customer at 4:00pm and was headed out to a little pond I know. Almost missed my irst appointment when I went back the next morning. What's there to talk about?
City: El Dorado HillsTips: Subtle changes take place in May. Take last year or example. Me and my buddy Blademan took a third in a Club tournament on a cool drizzly mid May day using darterheads and jigs. Two weeks later brimming with conidence I entered the Golden State with another riend. The weather was hot and the lake was a cluster o powerboat users. We tried to orce the same pattern and the result was a giant sucking sound eminating rom our boat. The vortex was so intense any boat within 1,000 yards was sent spinning helplessly out o control. Watch those subtle changes to post-spawn.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water about 6pm and headed up the north ork. Immediately got in to the ish. We hit ish on senko's, darters and lizards, all in 10 t o water and less. We were surprised to get right on ish due to the bright, hot, calm coditions, but they were there. As the sun started to go down behind the hills, we started rippin, crankin and buzzin. They all worked. We stopped ishing around 8:30 and ended up with around 35 ish to 3.3#'s. It was an absolutely awesome 2 1/2 hours o ishing.
City: roseville, caTips: I hear o a lot o people saying to ish already, but there are still a ton o ish in the shallows. At least 75% o our ish were keepers.
