Report: My riend Rich and I launched around 6:00 am and headed or Bear Creek. On my 5th cast using a Vyper spinnerbait in a shad pattern, I put a ive# in the livewell. About 5 minutes later Rich boats a 3# on a ratteltrap(chrome & black). Ater missing a ew more, Rich get hit by something real big. As soon as she hit he said that it was a hog, so i tell rich to loosen his drag. The ight was on, he must have ought her or close to ive minutes. When she suraced I could tell that she was going to be a GOOD one. When we inally got her into the boat and weighed her, she came in close to eleven pounds(caught on a bass pattern crankbait). What a beautiul ish. During the rest o the day we landed eight total the best ive probably going somewhere close to 27. We also managed to land a six pound striper. Her is a good one. We were working the point in between two campgrounds(I was using a rattletrap that was nailed by a nice sized Bluegill. This was my best day yet (the irst ten plus in my boat). Needless to say I will be going back.

The bite is sot, use a carolina rig with 1/16 oz. wt. 1 1/2 t. leader. the ish would usually hit the worm deadsticking let worm sit or about ten seconds ater it hits bottom. Just about the time you drag it, they would jump all over it. Fish were running 1 1/2 to 3 lbs. Good luck!

Report: Fished New Hogan or the irst time today. Nice Lake! Fished as an observer or Bigun who won the CCBC Angler o the year with 4 or a little over 6# (Congratulations). We caught smallies, spots, and largemouth. Best LM (4.38#) I caught on a white speed trap at early in the morning out o the weeds in the back o a shallow cove in 4 eet o water. Bigun had a ew bites and a couple o ish on worm, but out best bait seemed to be brown/green jigs. The 6 keepers we landed came airly shallow (less than 20 eet). Best banks were steep rock. Us observers has a 1 ish option going, thought my 4# would be good enough, but got beat out by a 7#. There are some nice ish in this lake.
    City: Brentwood

Tips: No real pattern other than the steep rocky banks. Best area was the south end o the lake where the water was a little warmer at 49 degrees.

    Water Temp: 56 - 67

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Water still a little murky with viability only to about 6 t. Water temp starting at 56 in morning and by mid aternoon the back coves are holding at 67. My buddy Jason and I ished rom 0700 till about 1700 and only came up with 2 ish , 1-14" at 1pm and 1 at 4pm that went 12". Saw lots o ish both male and emale up on beds. We ished across rom Acorn campground to the south end o the lake. Still alot o muck loating in the water as I guess the lake has turned over. Rattlesnakes are out as we saw two doing the mating thing. Fish are holding right on the bank and waiting to nail anything coming o the shore.
    City: markleeville

Tips: Fish are holding at about 2 to 20 t sitting on nests. Try getting out o the boat and sighting ish under cover o bushes and logs. Most ish were at 2 t o water and staring right at the bank so presentation needs to be rom shore and slip it into the water. To bad we didnt ind this out till late in the day. Try 4" worm in non bright colors.
