Report: THIS IS ALSO FOR STAFFORD LAKE
Started fishing around 9pm on Saturday night. Threw everything in my bag for 4 hours up and down the bank, worms, rat-l-traps, spinners, jigs, cranks, top-water frogs, others. I didn't get a single bit, not anything. The about 1am the moon started to come up, coincidence, I think not.
Well the bites started to come, well actually only one bite. It was a 10lb 14ounce lunker that took my favorite bait. After that lunker the bite turned on and I caught between 10-15 fish, though none bigger then 3lbs after the big one.
    City: Novato

Tips: Worms and soft plastics still seem to be the way to go. Though for the first time out there I started to see fish roll.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I have been out two times in the past two weeks and it was good both times. First trip I fished from 11:00 - 5:00. Caught 4 by 12:30, biggest was 4.2 and then went 2 hours without a bite. Wind picked up a bit and the bite turnded on. Caught 10 in the next two hours and finished with a 7.0 in a 2 feet of water.
Trip two was w/my buddy John and between the two of us we caught 15 to 4.0 lbs.
    City: novato

Tips: Caught fish on soft plastics (brush hogs and beavers) spinner baits, chatter baits and shallow running crank baits. Caught a lot of fish in 6' of water or less. Fish seem to be in prespawn mode.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 1:00 to 5:30 and caught 10 bass to 4lbs. Caught 9 of them on a chatterbait and 1 on a brush hog in 3 to 10 feet of water. Water is usually like chocolate milk this time of year, but is very clear right now with the lack of rain.
    City: novato

Tips: Lighten up your colors, try to go more natural. I was yoyoing the chatterbait and getting a lot of hits as it fell. I think a spinnerbait would work just as well, just very your retrieve.
CATCH AND RELEASE. High mercury count in this lake (It's posted around the lake).

Tips: I threw a lot of top water and swim baits, but you can catch a lot of fish if you stuck with crankin and plastics.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the shallows for a few hours this afternoon. Caught a 4.5 and a 4.75, one on a purple Kinami creature bait rigged weightless, the other on a topwater popper. Kinami fish was caught in about 4' of water, topwater was caught in 1'. This spawn seems a little odd compared to others I've seen on other lakes. I've never seen so many Carp hanging in the shallows, waiting to feast on the bass eggs.
    City: San Rafael

Tips: Throw everything you got. Topwater action should be starting up pretty soon.

    Report: Hey Pete,
The brass and glass does make a difference with the water clarity being so mudddy. The clicking of the brass and glass sounds like crawdad claws and will call the fish into the bait. Shake the rod with loose line for 15-30 seconds and then give a slow lift of the rod tip. Work the bait all the way to the bank. I got out on friday for a couple of hours, Joe caught a 6.0 on a brush hog (same fish I caught the day before on a chatter bait) 4.55 on a chatter bait and Joan (7yrs) brought a 5.0 to the shore only to drop her rod tip and watch that fish swim away. She was still very excited.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Tried to take advantage of the break in the weather, but if its not rain, its 20 mph winds. Found a nice Cove (Thanks for the tip Zane), that was somewhat protected from the wind. Threw rattletraps, speedtraps, soft plastics, spinnerbaits. Pumpkin seed baby brush hog was the winner today- landed a 5+lb catfish on it-felt like a largemouth the way it ran. My buddy hooked a decent largemouth on a light green storm lure on the windy side.
    City: San Rafael

Tips: Present nice and slow. Have not tried the brass and glass yet. Does it make that much of a difference?
