Report: CHECK THIS OUT!!! Went tubing in the island pond with a buddy. We bumped into two other tubers...one o whom caught a STRANGE species o ish on a crankbait. No joke...My buddy and I wouldn't have believed him but we saw it with our own eyes (he kept it in a mesh bag tied to his tube). This ish was about 14 inches long. It was white with no pattern on the sides, and large sized scales (like a striper). It had a long, lean and slender body, built just like a barracuda. Although it had a airly big mouth, it had tiny teeth. I'm very amiliar with the reshwater predatory ish in Caliornia and have never heard or seen anything like this. None o us who saw it have! It wasn't a pike, pickeral, musky or walleye. Hmmmm...Oh well, chances are i there's one, there's more...

Report: My partner caught a 2 lb'er on Tuesday, 12/29; I ollowed suit the ollowing Saturday, Jan. 2nd. Both ish were caught lippin' a pig-n-jig into heavy brush in the ponds in the back o the park. It's basically pretty slow right now. The ranger told me they ound a 10-12 lb. bass loating near the tules back there recently. I've heard o 8 & 9 lb'ers coming out o there, primarily rom the back side o the levee. Just to help get the word out, they have established a new rule here, regarding loat tube ishing in the back ponds: they will now allow kickboats back there -- as long as you don't take your oars! I you have oars, I guess that makes you a 'boat,' as opposed to a 'loat tube,' where you only use ins & waders. Kayaks, canoes & aluminum boats are still prohibited, outside o the main lake. They came to this 'compromise' as a result o inconsistencies experienced in the enorcement o the park rules between dierent rangers. I'll take that compromise! Now bring on the SPAWN!

Report: don't go the backpond on the weekend. went out this morning, it was like a DOG PARK in the WATER. Seriously WTF is going on. Its a lake to fish not for your damn DOGS. I thought the ranger is trying to do something? Is it legal to let the dog jump in the water? Its disturbing all the fisherman. Anyways, fishing Sucks NOW. I was doing good last month, but today just dead for me. FIRST time ever skunk in the arroyo pond with the TUBE.
