Water Temp: 65-70
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Very hot day on the lake. Thought I would avoid the boat traffic, but I guess people don't work any more. Worked a stretch near Lakeshore, mostly rocks and some brush in the water. Fish seemed to be holding in little pockets. Slow finesse tactics seemed to work the best. If you don't die from the heat you may from catch too many small fish.
City: Santa RosaTips: Bites can be slow to come, stick to the area you catch one and a bigger fish will show up. Shade pockets or inner covers seemed to be the ticket. Have fun!!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The lake is just under 4' from full. water temp in the main body is 66 and a little warmer in the coves. Soft plastics like Senkos and tubes are getting bit as well as white spinnerbaits with double white willow blades. The top water bite is starting to come on, We have had a few reports of topwater fish this week from guys that have throwing poppers and floating minnow baits and having good sucess in the mornings and evenings.

Water Temp: Low 60's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The lake is just under 2' from full pool. The bite has been pretty decent despite the recent storms that we have been getting. Bass are still being caught mainly on soft plastics such as weightless wacky rigged Senkos, tubes and 6" straight tail worms on 1/8 to 3/16 oz. dartheads fished from the shoreline out to around the 20' mark. The water in the Squaw and Pit arms of the lake has been running a little dirtier than the Sac and the McLoud. Bass are still in all stages of the spawn. Look for staging fish waiting to move up around 20' deep off of steeper drop off's, Spawning fish on long flats from the shoreline out to 15' and post spawners around the willows.
City: Shasta LakeTips: If you are planning on heading out give us a call at 1-800-462-3917 or 530-275-4939 for the latest info on how the lake is fishing.

Water Temp: 62 to 64
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The lake is just over 3' from capacity. Look for staging fish on main and secondary points and around the willow trees. Most of the bass being caught have been on 4" & 5" senkos in natural shad, Baby bass and green pumpkin or 4" & 6" Mother Finest worms in Morning Dawn and Mojave Oxblood. 4" Zoom ringworms and small flukes in Watermelon seed have also been producing well. The topwater bite has been happening in the evenings but not very consistently, Once the weather stabilizes that will improve.
City: Shasta LakeTips: if you are planning on heading up to Shasta Give us a call at 1-800-462-3917 or 530-275-4939 for the most current info on the lake.

Water Temp: 57-59
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished about 8 hours. Cool, rainy weather most of day. Smaller green tubes produced around 7 fish for me in the 12-14 inch range. I switched to Senko (style) rigged wacky with o-ring and caught 3 pounder on first cast. 2 casts later I lost a trophy at the boat. 8-9 pound range...wow. Heart pounding now. Caught about 15 more off this rig in about 15-25 feet of water. Am guessing with stabilized weather the bite will really be on.
City: RenoTips: Greens/Earthtones worked best. Wacky rigging with o-ring, #4 Owner mosquito hook, and small splitshot. Very light bite, watch your line.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished for about 4 hours on Good Friday. Had the most luck on green and brown soft plastics, fished slow. Caught 5 total, all in the 2-3 lb range.
City: Lakehead, CATips: Fish slow! Most of the fish hit on the drop, and it was a very soft bite. The females we caught were getting pretty fat in the belly and looked like they were close to spawning. Should be a good fishing this summer.

Water Temp: 48-52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Two of us fished this past Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we fished the Sac arm and ended the day with 16 fish. The biggest was 3lbs caught on a spinner bait. We caught 13 on minnows,1 on a spinner bait and two on mf worm. Most fish were in 30 to 40 feet of water. The water temp was 47 to 50 degrees.
On Sunday we fished the main body, Squaw and Pitt arms. We were able to catch 14. Again minnows outfished artificial baits. Only 5 of the 14 were on plastic (one on a senko, one on a spinnerbait and three on mf worms). Water temp was 50 to 52 degrees in the Pitt. Again the fish for the most part are not close to the shore?

The water levels looked to be dropping about a foot a day. I hope the water warms up I'll be down for a week at the end of the month. Good luck!!

Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Just finished a small club derby with 12 teams. Only one team actually caught their 5 fish limit. Most others caught 2 or 3. I caught my 2 spots on 6 inch redish robo worms. Yesterday I caught a 3 pounder on a spinnerbait and a 2 pounder on a jerk bait. I heard the team who caught 5 was fishing anything green. such as senkos and worms. It was extremely tough out there. Incredibly windy and apparently the lake is dropping a foot a day so the fish a very confused and not biting.
City: MarinTips: If you want numbers, green worms. size, spinnerbait and jerk baits. Oh and my fish were caught in around 15 feet of water on rocky shorelines.
Good luck! -
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I'm coming down to Shastsa next week. No body's done a posting in a month. Whats the H20 Temp?
Any fish moving up yet? Is it a normal spring on the lake this year? ie:Sencos and M/F hand pours in the trees/willows? Sure would like a heads up
Thanks

Water Temp: 49
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched at Jones Valley. Fished Jones inlet and lower Squaw arm. Very slow weekend. Threw green lizards (black speckled) down to 30 feet and only hit 3 small specks. Switched to trolling for trout from top water down to 40 feet with riggers and various colors. No luck what so ever. Air was cold (29 degrees in morning) and water was clear (down to 20+ feet). Nothing biting nothing! Normally February is a great month for fishing Shasta Lake. This was a day before a big storm so maybe the pressure drop stopped the bite?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Two of us fished this past Saturday and Sunday. Boy it was TOUGH!!!!! On Saturday we fished the Sacramento arm and were only able to catch4 fish drifting a live minnow. We saw quite a few groups of fish, but most of them were not feeding. Also quite a few balls of bait. We threw senko's in 4 different colors, we tried dart headed worm (mothers finest) in three different colors, hula grub on football head, and flukes. Sunday we fished the main body and again only caught 4 fish on minnows. Again saws lots of fish in 50 to 100 feet of water, saw bait, but only would get one fish or none. Most fish though were fat??? They must be feeding sometime????? Water was clear down to at least 20 feet.
