Report: Worked Yorty Creek Area for 6 hours, caught 20 fish to 4 lbs. Water temperature was warmer in outer portion of creek and action was much more consistent in that area. Senkos along submurged grass beds was the hot ticket.
    City: Sebastopol

Tips: Look for warm water in outer area of feeder creeks.

Report: i was out in the middle of the lake using a lure i made my self, when i figured out that im never going to catch anything wiht it, so i switched to a peace of salami i had left over fom my lunch. There was a huge, huge frenzy over it, and at the end of the day, i came home with 4 HUGE ifsh, i caught more but they were all small. when i put the peice of salami in the water, i saw some iol or something drifting on the water, thats probably what attracted the fish.
    City: santa rosa

Tips: My tip is to look for shady parts of the lake when its sunny outside, and look out in the sunny side when its gloomy. When its hot bass will be on the bottom of the water, when its cold they'll be on the top. Also when its dark and everything is still, try to make as much racket as you can on the water with your lure or bait.

Report: Mr Unknown, I have been fishing this lake for 15 years. I have been a "Local" for the last 7. I have never seen the display of racism you are describing here. If you had a personal conflict with someone I'm sure there's two sides to the story. Putting everyone in this group of "Locals" is just plain wrong.
Hope you get it worked out.

Water Temp: 57 am -62 pm

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water @ 7:30 ran up to mouth of Yorty and nailed three quick ones in first hour one on drop shot in a tree in about 25 ' the other two off the shade line on the point with a crank bait. Worked my way over to Brush Creek and started down the south shore and three boats came in, moving further up the cove. Fished on down trying various techniques with no luck. Decided to find some new water, so I cruised on up Dry Creek and hit a nice cove on the far bank from Cherry Creek. Caught four more, one on the drop shot and 3 on a Senko. All came near wood with a defined shade line. All were 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. Cruised up into Cherry and couldn't get anything to go. Off the water about 1:30. All in all not a bad day. Would liked to have stuck a decent size fish, but hell it sure beats working on a Friday.

Report: Skipped work and went fishing with dave, no rain just cold wind and cloudy at times. Started off in Cherry Creek and Dave picked up a nice 4.1lb Large Mouth on a Salty Dog Texas rigged, then he followed it up with a 1.5lb. But from then on it was me for the next nine fish with my trusty Drop shot rigged with a Pinky Tescadero, nothing over 2lbs but 5 big enough to take home the overall weight. One of the highlites of the day was watching the drive by Squirrel Hunters! All in all it was a good day, sure beats work.

Report: You ask for it, here it is. The Redwood Empire Bass Club held their February tournament on Saturday. Overall it was a slow bite for everyone, but every teams managed to weigh-in. Top 2 teams weighed over 16 lbs for 5 fish, 3rd had 14.65 and my partner and I took 4th with 13.99 lbs. Big fish was 8.22 caught on a suspending crankbait. Our big fish ran 4.3 lbs and was the 3rd largest. Because of the pre-frontal conditions most of the fish were caught on plastics worked very slow. We were drop shotting at 25'-40' on points. Grubs and jigs also produced if worked deep and slow. A few fish were caught on rip baits.
    City: Rohnert Park

Tips: As the weather improves this week expect the rip baits to start producing. Also try blades around the trees. If no reaction bite, work grubs, jigs or baby brush hogs on rocky areas or drop shot down to 40'. Best colers are are your greens and browns. Cherry Creek is a little warmer than Warm Springs right now.

    Water Temp: 49-53

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out with my brother and the two boys. The boys had a great time even though we only caught 4 fish, that's what it is all about. Turns out a local Sonoma club was having a Tourney ~ 20 boats (with really poor launching skills from what we saw). Tried cherry first, that's how we found there was a tourney, you know a boat on every point and no problem at all with pulling right in front of you. Got a nice 3.4 in the first 30 minutes and my 7 year old could barely reel him in. Looked like the start of a great day. 30 minutes later a 1.5 and another picture of my son. That was it for us later my brother and his boy got a 1.5 and a 1.9. All fish came on plastics. Heard talk of an 8 pounder from the club and weights like 15 lbs. for the leaders. Maybe they'll post and let us know more about what was working and what was not.
    City: Pacifica

Tips: Too bad more people don't post their results. I know there were 40+ boats out there Sat and my guess is that several will read this board for their own benefit but will not take the time to let others know how they did, good or bad, what worked and what did not. If you have a tourney coming up I agree completely, but if not why not share, we are all releasing the fish anyway and that is the purpose if this venue. Too bad so many just read and don't write. Good luck.....

    Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Saturday - February 26. Fished with my buddy Jeff. Just like the past four months, Sonoma was predictable and fishing was excellent. The bass were tight on the banks. They have been tight on the banks for a long time this winter. Launched at 8 and was out by noon. We landed 8 smallmouths and 2 largemouths. The Ghost and six inch sinkos were still the hot lures. Had one fish I could not hold - must have been a really big largemouth. Took my bait in less than three feet of water. Forget jigging (drop-shoting). Some of the smallmouths are already group spawning. Many others have been spawning off and on over the winter due to unusually mild weather and warmer than normal water. This is especially true in our family vineyard ponds. Vineyards are pushing two or maybe three weeks ahead of last year. If you have not noticed, the acacias are already in full bloom - many weeks earlier than normal. A guaranteed indicator that the smallmouths are spawning. I love fishing this time of year - the lake level is perfect, water clarity is ideal and the hills are green.
    City: Healdsburg

Tips: Fish slow. I burned less than one pint of gasoline for two hours on the lake. Work the brush along the shoreline for the big largemouth and the rocky points and shoreline for the smallmouths.

Report: Don't put away your dropshot as the previous report said. The dropshot can be very deadly and bring you lots of big fish if done correctly during this time of the year. If you want to catch guppies right now, go ahead and beat the banks. You can have em.
