Water Temp: 48-49
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: My brother and his buddy go out today and caught 3 fish with a few other bites all on green pumpkin jigs. No big fish, biggest 1.5lbs. They worked it extremely slow and did not feel some of the bites just weight.
Tips: Fish were caught in the main body next to river rock piles. Oh by the way to launch with a 2 wheel drive my brother said that a person go stuck try to get his boat out.
Unfortunately I had to work and could not fish. I get tired of work getting in the way of fishing.

Water Temp: no idea
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Walked the shoreline running my dog...threw small 1/4oz football jig in watermelon red with a pumpkin netbait paca chunk...picked up 1 spot and 1 smallie, both around a pound. Just having fun runnin' the dog and throwing a line in...wasn't expecting to catch.
mnuzum, thanx for posting reports...was gettin' tired of lookin' at my old one. lots of folks walkin' the old Mormon island settlement asking if there's fish in folsom lake.
City: folsomTips: none...other than the usual...work it slow. I hate workin' it slow when I'm on the boat but even more when I'm on the shore...so I throw it out and just start walking...when I see my line parallel with the shoreline about 10 feet out, I reel it back in and cast again, then walk. oh well, sometimes somethin' will be cruising the shoreline.

Water Temp: 49-50
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched around 8am and headed to the southwest arm. Caught 1 LMB (2lb 6oz) next to island view campsite. Then hit the main body of the lake with no success. Had a first on the water experience in seeing a DEER several hundred yards from shore in the main body. It was almost hit by another boater and turned around. I knew deer could swim but hadn't seen it in person before and wouldn't have thought it would try to cross the whole lake.
City: Santa RosaTips: Slow down. Drop shot is the only thing that has produced for us so far this year.

Water Temp: 50 - 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Friday 1-31-14, my buddy and I launched out of Holland Riverside Marina and fished near Little Mandeville all morning. It was cold and windy. We tried many different techniques but caught no fish. In the afternoon, we move backed to the Holland Tract area. Still no fish. As we were about to quit later in the afternoon, we came upon a large mat of Hyacinth extending from shore out to 20 ft. of water. My buddy decided to flip his drop-shot rig into a small hole in the mat in about 15 ft. of water. He dead sticked his seven inch RoboWorm for about 15 seconds and son-of-a-gun his line started to move. He had the first fish of the day. I said, if there is one fish there, there should be more. He when right back into the same hole and caught another fish. A few minutes later, I caught a fish. Because we hooked these fish using our light pole and line, there was a problem getting the fish out of the mat. To solve this problem, I used my telescoping lure retriever to widen the hole in the mate to pull the fish through. If it wasn’t late, we would have continued this pattern and probably caught more fish.
City: PinoleTips: If nothing is working, try punching Hyacinth mats with 6 and 7-inch Roboworms. If you are using a light pole and line, use a telescoping lure retriever to get your fish though the mat.

Most of the fish were well away from the points (we were targeting points). Fished south end of the lake most of the time. Report: Well hit some of my key points and rock piles with drop shot, jigs and a crankbait, caught quite a few fish on the drop shot Roboworm (prism shad) but had nothin on the jigs or crankbait. Then found the schools of shad and the bite turned on, threw spoons and drop shot. Caught more fish and seen more fish also when we found the shad. We even snagged a couple shad and used them (they hammered it) catching all different types of fish.

Report: Fished from about 8:30 am to 1 pm. Bad day, strong winds and white caps early when we launched. The further into the north fork, less winds and nearly glass like. Couldn't get fish to take anything. All Jeff and I managed were a 13-14 inch each, 2 fish the whole trip. Saw 3 large spots chasing my bait near the end of the trip, still couldn't get them to hit. Better luck next time.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 46-48
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: As I have said before - it takes a real man to make this report. Fishing was tough yesterday - at least in the lower lake. Mike and I fished for a little over 5 hours - from 4 pm 'til a little after 9 pm. I had 2 giant bites - yea - all of 3 1/2 and 2 3/4 lbs - after dark. Hey, at least I boated both of my bites!! Mike is still recovering from his recent 11.35 bass - hasn't had a bite in awhile. Mine were caught on black/blue hog-type baits in about 15 feet of water. Saw very little bait and few fish on the meter anywhere! At least yesterday - they weren't on the bank anywhere. I will end with the conditions - the warmest January night I have ever seen at Clear lake - and the full moon rise at dusk was nothing short of stunning! Problem is: too many sun and moon rises - how about rain clouds!!!
Tips: Nothing much to say. The water temp this time of year might inch up on the surface, but after dark is returns to 46-49 degrees. Starting in February, the warm sun will mean something as the rays begin to penetrate deeper and fish will start moving more shallow - especially up north. They might not have far to go this year.
