      Water Temp: 46

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Windy! Getting windier as the day went on. Graphed a lot of fish but only caught two! Talk about a fun bite today. Did miss a few to many as the fish were not hanging onto the bait more than a couple seconds. Found lots of inactive fish near the break. Normal retrieve for this time of year and water conditions, slow. Dead stick with faint popping action and long pauses got my bites. The two I caught knocked the crap out of it and were easy to feel. The other bites were like pulling in your line without a lure on it, they would just pick it up, move the way your working it, then spit it out. Had no problem feeling them spit it out, its just the picking up part I wasn't detecting. Oh well, at least I got to be on the water! Saw only one boat fishing for bass and that was it.
      City: Mountain View

Tips: Plastics and cranks is what we threw, plastics got the fish. Think the cranks would be better with a little sun out to bring the temp up during the day.

      Water Temp: cold

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Been out of town on business, so late report (no luck again). Fished half day Thursday, Jan. 18. Still trying to find new water. Launched out of the Hook. Senko fished barge cove, no hits. Ran to north end of Taylor, ripped a while, met another NCBFer. No hits in Taylor, water was fairly dingy due to rain. Ran to Potato, cranked and wormed - no luck. Went into far back of Sycamore hoping to find cleaner water, but it appeared that they were pumping back there - the water was brown and very cold. Still the area looked good so I carolina rigged worms, cranked and ripped a little with no bites. Last 3 trips I have hauled water, but still enjoyed exploring new areas that I will definitely visit come springtime. Better luck to all.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out to see if the fish would go by the ramp. Only had an hour and a half so I only brought jigs. It was raining and breezy. Slow dragging the jig had three bites and two hookups. Lost the first fish which bit at the end of my cast. Didn't hit him hard enough. Destinctive bites when I got them. Talked to the other two guys fishing, one guy in a tube said he got two on rip baits fishing the island near the ramp and one on a point on the west side of the lake. The other guy was fishing from a boat and I watched him fish some good water and not get bit. He said he didn't get a bite all day (he needed to put the fly rod down and pick up a jig). If I can get three bite by the ramp on a day like this then the rest of the lake should be great!
      City: Mountain View

Tips: I threw a green and brown jig 3/4 oz. with brown pork in four to five feet. A mix of dead sticking and short quick pops is what it took to get bit.

Report: As much as I hate having to pay to launch at least they are making the eort to level the playing ield. Now i they would only make more o an eort to keep the ramps clear and open, make sure the loats are usable, that the lights in the parking and launch areas are working, and bee up patrols to cut down on vandalism, we might see a return on our launch ees. On the downside an employee rom DFG stated that not only are they going to discontinue aerial stocking but that they plan to stop stocking all lakes above 4'000t. Hope he was misinormed. The more we pay or ishing licenses the smaller the bag limits and the ewer our ishing opputunities become.

      Water Temp: 46-48

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Son, John, and I departed Paradise Point Marina 0840, fished Telephone Cut, up one side, down the other, on outgoing, low and incoming tide, until after 1:00 p.m. Tried lots of different presentations (soft plastic jerkbaits and swim baits, jigs, Brush Hog, Senko, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, etc.), mostly slow due to cold water temperature. John had two hits but no fish. Motored up to White

Tips: Keep moving, keep casting, have patience -- the fish are there and are eating. To cope with moss on bottom just about everywhere, try drop-shotting with heavier weight (1/4 to 1/2 oz) and bubba baits (plastic worms, lizards, crawfish, creature baits, zipper worms, etc.).

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: another beautiul caliornia day. alot o people on the lake trolling or a good reason. It seems thats the way to catch trout. we trolled between the pumphouse and bobcat cove with a silver syclops mepps lure or a total o 11 trout. thats the only lure that worked or us. no other lures were hammered, some got hit,but not the solid strikes that the syclops got. also my riend ralph got a ew trout also trolling, a bass o simi-deep rocks with a plastic worm. some trout ate his worm also. my dad was on shore and caught a 11" bass. all bass were released, and some trout also.ish on ellas. sure beats sitting at home.
      City: los angeles

Tips: while trolling we use 4lb test outits with lure tied on only. sub-suace seemed to be the ticket.
