Report: Great weather today. Fished 4 hours in the narrows. Caught 10 bass from 12" to 2 lbs. splitshotting 4-6" magicworms (#62 best), most in 15-20 ft. off points (best 5 maybe 8.5 lbs). One 2 lb. smallmouth in a cove and one 2 lb. largemouth in shallow (5 ft.)water off rocky point. Nothing on crank or spinner.

      Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished tournement out of Ladds, had no clue prefishing Friday on what the fish were doing because of fishing the B.A.S.S Fed. Toc. at oroville the week prior. My partner and found spinnerbait and crankbait fish in practice so we figured we might do ok. At blast off we ran like crazy to get to our first rock before the fog came in. We started off throwing 1/2 red crawdad rattle traps and in a 200 yard stretch of bank we had our limit of 1 1/2 to 2 1/4 fish, running to our second spot my partner flipped a 3lb on a blk blu gitzit. We finally ran to our main bank and culled out everything we had,'but the 3lb bass' on red med. diving crankbaits and our Big fish came on a DUH!!! 1/2 oz shad colored spinnerbait, We took second place with a weight of 19lb 8oz.
      City: Galt

Tips: Best bite seemed to be on the first half of tide change. Work your crankbaits SLOWWW, just crawl them though the weeds and hold on. Spinnerbait bite; pitch your bait to the rocks, if fish does not hit in first 3ft reel in and throw again. Fish are now schooling in weight classes if you find one fish there should be more close by... Good luck and God bless!!!

Report: 6th Annual Shambre Invitational is now in the books with alot o IMPRESSIVE ish weighed in. Todd Crockett and Chuck Zaulers win with 15.6 lb. bag and a 10.1 big ish. They caught this ish "towing" a Castaic Trout in deep water. The top three all stated that they had caught their ish deep and mostly on plactics, but there was a brie reaction bite irst thing in the morning (although I didn't notice it). 34 ish weighed in or 60.6 lbs or a 1.78 lb average. The lake is on the verge o turning over, the bait and bass are still deep, so the Classic boys next week should have their hands ull with a totally dierent lake than when they preished prior to the cuto.

      Water Temp: cold

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Sunny and cool, absolutly no wind and not a single ish to be seen or caught anywhere on the lake. I talked to several people and nothing! I walked about hal the lake and didn't even see any bait ish. better luck next time!
      City: Pleasant Hill, CA

Tips: I generaly do well here on spinnerbaits, Jigs, and 6-10in black worms. AS or the question on those giant cruising bass, the only thing I can get them to hit is the 9in castaic trout. Not even the 12in basstrix gets there attention. I have caught a 3.5 and 5.8 on the original castaic trout.

Report: Fished the last 100% team tournament on 10-18-00 by myself since partner CV qualified for BASS Federation at Oroville. We were sitting in 21st place and I needed to move us up one spot to qualify for the TOC. Anyhow, caught five good keepers weighing 15.63lbs. Started and ended the day throwing a red Bomber crankbait. Fish were very aggressive hitting the crank with a vengence. The key was to crank slowly and pausing for 3-4 seconds. The fish were stacking up on wind blown rip rap points with weeds, tail end of outgoing tide. Throughout the day I tried a spinnerbait, jig w/ pork, brush hogs and senkos. Only got keeper fish on the cranks.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Crank slowly and give a pause..deeper cranks bouncing off of the bottom helps too!

      Water Temp: cooling

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out Sunday, started fishing a 10:00 a.m. Overall just a fair day, made quick runs to my regular spots in big break, Frank's, Middle river and Mildred, tried some new areas and methods as well. 1 2 lb blackie on spinnerbait in barge cove, 3 small stripers on rattletrap as well, missed several fish. Pitched brushog on cut into Frank's, not a single hit. Cranked two barely legal blackies on rattletrap and another 2 lb striper, still missing fish on trap, so sharpened and changed hooks. Ran to Middle River, two small keepers on red/black crankbait, and one slightly better on Senko. Pitched brown jig in tules, weeds, and rocks, no takers. Ran to Mildred and made a striper milk run in an area that has been fairly consistent. Missed 3 fish, caught two small stripers, about 4-5 lbs. Pitched brown jig in weed clumps and timber, missed one fish, no other bites. Cranked a wall in Mildred for another blackie of 2 lbs. Pitched jigs on docks and rocks by Piper and Taylor. No hits. Missed one fish on rattletrap run along docks in Taylor. All told, 7 small blackes, and 6 small stripers. Conditions were ideal, but I could not get on better fish, guess that's karma for not giving more details on my pattern at Clear Lake last week when I was on better fish! Good luch to all, and from now on I will be more specific!

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished on saturday 10/28. Arrived at the gate about 5:45, only 1 car in ront o me. Gate was opened by 5:50 and my boat was loating by 6:05. Stll very dark and oggy. I motored to my irst spot right past the narrows on the right. Fished the rocky steep drop o. Still pitch black out and I will assume that is the reason things stared out so gloomy. I had 3 solid hit and runs but no ish landed. It is now starting to get light out and WHAM a 2.5 lb. largie. 2 Minutes later a smaller 13 inch ish. Next cast produces my biggest ish o the day. This one goes 5.25 lb. Water is lat and no wind. Temp is a little mild but still nice. A lot o suracr action all around me. I suspect smallies eeding on shad. I continued down the rest o this shoreline (about 100 yards) and totaled 10 largemouth at this irst stop. I lost at least 5 additional. In act the spot was so productine I thought I would go back to the beginning (where I lost the irst 3) and try again. It has now been 1.5 hours since I irst hit this spot ( I usually leave ater 30 minutes). I decided to try to igure out what all the top water acticity was. I tossed out a small black rapala (jointed) and rolled the 100 yards back to my start point. Within 2 minutes a solid hit but no hook up. I was now back at my starting point. I ished ny same area gain and landed 3 more bass in the 2 to 3 lb range (glad I came back).Decided 13 rom 1 hole was good enough so I cut across the lake to ish the other side o the narrows. On my last trip this spot yielded 16 ish (2 weeks ago). I ished this shoreline or about 1 hour and pulled out 8 buetiul bass (all 2 to 4 lb). I tried one more spot and landed 3 more largies and 1 smallie. Now 11 AM and I have 25 bass landed. I decided to try or trout. I trolled or 2 hours (used at least 10 dierent lures). Wind came up, rain came down and i put my rain gear on. I inally caught a 2.5 lb trout on a Fire Tiger Rapala (jointed).Went back to bass ishing and landed 3 more bass in the 2 to 3 lb range. Got tired o ighting the wind so I decided to go home and see i my amily remembered who I was.All I can say is everyone I talked to was catching bass. Many people also had some nice trout. A riend o mine went late on Sunday (29th) ater the rain stopped. He ished rom 10 AM to 4 PM and caught 27 bass all in the 1 to 3 lb range ishing the same spots I did on Saturday.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched from Cappel Cove at 6am. Fished rocky banks and creeks with little success. Worked topwater and rip baits early. Got 3-4 blow ups and a lot of little fish hitting the rip bait, no keepers! Switched to 4in worms later and caught one keeper smallie in 20ft off a rock point. Caught a lot of trout on crank baits ranging 1-3lbs, nice if I were in a trout derby. Reeled in a $20 king to boot. Not very happy with our trip seeing that we were targeting old bucket mouth.

Report: Pretty good action right away when the lake first opened....had a few bites and caught 3 in the first half hour. The action slowed to a crawl for the rest of the day, as I boated only 3 more and my partner 1. My biggest was about 2 1/4lbs; the rest were just average. I tried LOTS of baits but the only one that produced was a carolina rigged 4" P&J worm from Action Baits. I also missed one on a jig, and my partner got his only fish on a speedtrap. All in all it was tough-fair for most people. Weather was perfect...calm, cloudy, showery, with minimal boat traffic.
      City: San Mateo

Tips: Carolina rig 4" worms 15'-35'; get there early.

Report: Son, John, and I departed Paradise Point Marina at 9:00 a.m. and headed for back end of Telephone Cut. Caught six fish (5 largemouth and one striper) by 11:00 a.m., all on crankbaits on outside edge of weeds. Four largemouth (from 1.5 to 5.25 lbs.) and the striper (2 lbs) took a black and red Strike King Series 4 crankbait. One largemouth took a firetiger Frenzy crankbait. No shad activity visible this time. Deeper weeds were still bright green and fresh. Weather was incredibly nice - overcast, light wind, NO rain. Moved out to Bishop Cut at 1:00 p.m. and had no further action for remainder of afternoon on west bank of Bishop Cut and adjacent channel. Morning action and pleasant weather made it a fun day on the Delta.
      City: Monterey, CA

Tips: Black/red crankbait was cranked down into weeds and then ripped free. Fish hit after lure emerged from weeds.
