Water Temp: 53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started o at Yorty throwing cranks at the bank, that did'nt work. So I put on a aithul grub and BAM! A atty 1 pounder. trew it again and a large and in charge 11 incher smacked my grub. Then i decided to catch a blue gill so I tied on my good ol' mini tube jig and BAM! almost pulled the rod out o my hands, it was a 3 inch bluey. then i ended the day throwing my aithul grub and nailed a 10 incher, I ought that ish or a good 4 seconds.
City: PetalumaTips: Anyone know why the bass in yorty creek are so small, and a lot o the rest o the lake. Each year you catch the same size bass, sure there'll be a decent ish here and there, but there all in that 10, 11,12, 13 inch range???

Water Temp: 58
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Wow what a day!! The wind was howling and the rain was pouring. There were 3-4 t swells out there. Isn't it unny, you couldn't pay me $100 to go into my own backyard and work on a rainy day. But when it comes to ishing... well that's just dierent. The ishing was just as tough as the weather. We managed two ish, one on a jig and the other on a worm. Both caught about 8t., one in stained and one in clear water. The interesting thing about Clear Lake is one part o the lake can be semi-calm while another part can seem like the Paciic Ocean and getting to calm waters can be a rough ride.
City: WindsorTips: I've had some o the best ishing in rain. But when it's raining and windy, you might want to do what the Bass are doing... just stay hunkered somewhere comortable.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Franks Tract today, throwing Tora Tubes (white) to boils of Striped Bass. Landed over a dozen 5lb to 7lb range. To many shakers to remember, though I was starting to get tired of them by 1:00pm. Best day in a long time at Franks.
City: SacramentoTips: Watch for the birds and surface disturbance, this indicates Striper feeding activity. Use your electric motor to approach slowly (fish very spooky on sunny days). White Plastics seem to work the best this time of year. Light line and a good drag a MUST!!!! (contact me for more info.)

Merced Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Boat house tackle attendant says the lakes were stocked on Jan 21. The north lake recieved 1000 lbs o rainbow trout in weight up to 2 lbs. The rains have kept the bite to a minimal but with the recent plants the bite should be good when water clearity improves. Didn't ask about the south but with spring coming it may be worth your while to try or bass o the shore o the south lake by the impound. Lake Merced isn't known or bass but that just means they aren't lure shy. I've seen largemouth bass weighing up to 5 lbs taken with worms and tube jigs.
City: San FranciscoTips: Basic trout setup is a size 14 treble hook on a 1' to 2' leader. Tie to a swivel and the other side to the main line but add a 1/2 oz egg sinker using the swivel to stop the sinker rom sliding to ar.

I never caught a one that day, but he was still yakk'n when I put her back on the trailer. He caught one lousy ish all day and I thought I would never here the end o it all the way back to the shack.

Berryessa Lake

Water Temp: 50-52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Water clarity was clear in most of the lake (that characteristic Berryessa Green tinted color), the mud line was well up Putah Creek after the big storms of last weekend. Even up Putah, it wasn't as muddy as I've seen it in years past. There's a foot or so visability up in Putah, about a mile past the Boy Scout Camp. Water was a little cooler up there compared with the narrows. Only got one small keeper largemouth in deep water off rock wall in the narrows. I was sitting in 50'. Talked to two other guys, one had just one smallmouth on a worm up in Putah, the other was Dropshot, who had 5 fish up to 2.5 lbs. Seems like all the tournament boats I saw were in the south end of the lake fishing the main rock walls and points.
City: Bay PointTips: No suggestions, cause I didn't do so well. Keep you eye out for wild life, though. I saw a bobcat and a pair of bald eagles up in Putah. Heard some coyotes howling too.

Water Temp: 52-54
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished main lake area, searched for rock piles and large boulder point (west side). Fished for 6 hrs, caught and released 6 fish had 8 hits. 5 of those fish averaged around 2lbs. Caught all the fish on either black or brown jigs with junebug trailer. Fish came from 15 to 25ft of water. Couldnt get a rip bite nor a worm bite to go.
City: Castro ValleyTips: Right know Id stay with the main lake area, creeks are stained brown. fish main bays but stay on the out side near deep water, finding rocky area in 15 to 40ft of water. Fish jigs slooooow until you can determine what there aggressiveness is. Black or brown jigs will work.

Report: Fished WCB teams today-tough bite overall. 8 bites,5 fish for 9.14 lbs. Small brown Worms 15 to 20 ft., cranked one smallie. Lots of boats on points, camped out. If you find fish- stay on'em a while and be patient. Not a great day for me ,farmed a couple possible money fish . Never really establised a pattern. Had to leave as soon as weighed in, didn't hear results or winning pattern(S). chilly all day-could have used more or thicker cloud-cover Don't
City: WILTONTips: split shot or spider jigs 15 to 25 ft submerged humps.

Water Temp: 51-53

Water Temp: n/a
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Recent heavy rains have muddied up the lake considerably, and also raised the water level a few feet. Visibility was about 6 inches. I fished from 11-4:30 today and found an overall tough bite. I managed 2, one 1 1/2lber, and one pushing 3lbs. The fish hit on a purple/brown Zipper worm, texas rigged, with Kickin Bass Scent. I also missed 2 good thunks on a small Rodstrainer football jig w/ Yamamoto trailer. I think I couldve caught 1 or 2 more fish, but the yuppies in their ski boats were thrashing the water pretty good.
City: San MateoTips: Work the bait VERY slow right now in these muddy conditions, and try to use some sort of scent.

Report: Went out of King Is. Honker cut is mud. Fished middle river it was o.k. clarity wise not fish wise. Fished Whisky and outside of mildred, main channel and St. Francis.
