Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Not a report but just ino or anyone contemplating ishing CFW. Drove by today and or the irst time in a long time, the lake is illed to the brim with water coming over the spillway. Plenty o nice ish there so enjoy.
City: WHEATLAND -
Water Temp: 80
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Tried to beat out the pleasure boaters or ew a hours o ishing on a weekend, a risky thing to do on this lake. But still managed to get some good ish going in both arms o the lake. Easily had a 10-11lbs or 5 ish. I tried the usual stu, blades, cranks, jigs with minimal success. So tried a little dierent method and proceeded to load the boat. Most ish seem to be shallow as long as there is some shade to hold them there. Had 2 ish that were almost 3lbs each, which is great or CFW. Shad (white) colored baits seem to produce the best, although the ish i caught were ull o craws(orange).
City: Yuba CityTips: Go as early as possible, because at 9/10 o clock it turns into a zoo in a hurry.

Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: While having to work at 3PM and still needing 4 more hours o break-in time on the new motor, decided to go to my local lake but unortunately I took a couple rods....Just in case. Well I wound up ishing or 4 hours and running only about 30 minutes as the bite was so good. Started out on Bear River and it was really hot on a Senko bite and went up Rock Creek and elsewhere with little or no luck so returned to the Bear and the bite was still HOT. They appear to be holding near any type o cover, ie, brush, rocks and such and not in the deeper water. Most were in 3-8' o water ready to head or the shallows to spawn. Will be back tomorrow and the ollowing day. Plenty o keepers and the average size was 1 1/2 to 2 pounds with the biggest one just tipping 3 pounds.
City: WheatlandTips: Tried jigs, blades and Senkos with the later the only thing that consistantly produced ish. Can't say that any one color was more productive than the rest as they ate any color Senko we gave them and worked it tight to cover or lay downs. Bear River arm was the only area that produced.

Fished up the bear river creek arm no luck located some nice points produced a ew ish on plastics. around noon located a couple schools o baitish threw spinnerbaits caught ish on nearley every cast total around orty ish between my partners and I, I couldnt believe how many people were up there this last weekend already becoming a circus o jetskis and skiers.
City: woodlandTips: This lake is ready to bust open any time.

Report: Went to CFW to get my conidence back ater a horrible trip to Oroville saturday. Got on the water about 10, ished 4 good hours. Ripped about 10 spotted bass up to 15" on 128 lucky crat. Caught another 6-7 using jigs in brown/orange 3/8th oz. Tried spinnerbaits with no takers. Lake is ull to the brim and that's good to see. But the boat ramp still sucks. Water color has more stain than normal, but should clear soon as that will help the rip bite.
City: Yuba CityTips: A little warmer water and this lake will bust wide open. Great lake, enjoy it now because it will be a circus in a month or two.

Water Temp: 45
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: With the tournament this coming weekend at Oroville and not wanting to disturb anyone's water there, I decided to go to CFW or the day and what lip rippin' day I had. Launching was easy as the dock is at the ramp and the lake is just about 4' rom ull. Fish were caught all day everywhere I went and on everything I threw. Only wish I had these last weekend at Oroville and caught only one ish that wouldn't have been tournament quality. The average was 2-3 and the largest was weighed at 4.1 lbs. Fishing water 20' was the most productive using dartheads, Texas rigged, jigs and spoons. Once I saw a school below us, dropped the jigging spoon and they inhaled it, none were snagged as they all had the hook in the mouth. Perect day or ishing as the water layed to perect glass on the surace and only 3 boats on the lake all day and I saw everyone catching ish. This lake currently has an excellent bite going on and it is indeed one o the best kept winter lake secrets o Northern Ca.
City: WheatlandTips: Worms were 4" peanut butter and jelly, morning dawn with chartruese tail (straight tail) and jigs in brown/green. Find the deeper water and work very slowly.

Water Temp: 70-75

Report: Fished Camp Far West last weekend. Bit was air biggest ish going 4.1. My advice to visitors to this lake would be ish at night. The morning bite didn't exist. The bite turned on at dusk (when the skiers go home) and continued until we were too tired to ish. Topwater was the ticket around wood and rocks. Fished mainly the Bear inlet.

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Been having serious problems enticing the green ones into a bite. Was out all day Sat. and till 9:00 on Sunday. Started out Saturday with a big slaming bite on my Huddleston on like my 5 th cast. I had finished fishing the bait and was begining the lift for my next cast when a serious explosion and violent tug right at the trolling motor alerted me much to late to the fact that nobody told the fish to wait for the next cast. Fished swimbait alot without another tap on Saturday. Hooked and lost a fish on the glow/chart.ice jig in 35 feet. Caught a fish on a brown jig with brown trailer about mid day. I have had pretty good luck midday spooning in the back of Chismahoo and when I went there about noon there was a boat right on top of the spot with a guy spooning. I never got touched/neither did he or the other boat that pulled in so the spoon thing is dead until the water temps spark some activity. No fish on any other presentation this day. Did not fish any plastics. Came back Sun. with a different Huddleston with my stinger all ready...Fished it at the same spot for 10 minutes and ....tink....and gone...Damn. 2 casts later I get half a tink and that was my last bite for the whole morning. Don't know if the live bait boyz are making bait as I saw none on this trip. It is very tough...Ya just gotta pay attention at first light as that seems to be my only bite with any quality at this time. Unknown when the lock jaw will end as it's been tough for the last 3 weeks for me. with less than 5 fish in the day 3 weeks in a row. Need either rain or cold...I'll take either!
City: OjaiTips: I think the swimbait bite is deep and that is why I have good to fair intial results when it is dark. I believe I need to drag the huddleston deeper after the sun light gets any penatration. I am just guessing as my research did not answer any clues.

Report: A wee bit Graphic Darrin but the reality is true. Now comes the BIG battle for all that paid for annual passes, advance camping sites, $40 to $50,000 on a new ride. Who at Casitas is willibng to refund even the annual pass costs? I am thinking it may be a 'too bad', that's life' situation. BUT you certainly can almost figure that you probably won't get back a "DIME" if they have their way about things. BUT!!! They will have available for a nominal fee, an inifficient, inadequate no live well facilitation 'rent-a-boat' for your use.. Go check the rental prices! Egads! So who in the H qq want's to rent a $80 proposed space rental charge for "your" $40,000 bass boat and only use it at their lake because if you take it out of the main gate, your DONE on this lake with that boat for the next year! What a shame.... Write your congressman and get these 'bleeding heart' I Hate Bass Fisherman of our planet!

Report: Fishing is great during the week. Wide actually, yeah the cold weather has pushed it back a minute, but only a minute. Should snap any minute.Big fish were chewing during the wind storm last week. My client got a 10.5 lb! It was great because there was no one around. No one at all actually.
For more detailed reports check out socalbassfishing.com
City: Simi ValleyTips: If you hear about the lake being hot all week and go there on the weekend expecting the bite to stay the same, forget it. As soon as Friday comes the boat traffic is real bad and the bite shuts down. Yeah you can get lucky, but it is not the same.
