      Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Jones Valley and ran up the Squaw arm. Started throwing 7" brown power-worms with no luck. Switched to a carolina-rigged watermellon-black specked 6" lizard and hit a 12" spot first cast. Most bass were down at about 15 or more feet. No big ones, largest at 14". Then decided to troll for a few rainbows and found two 15"ers at about 25 feet. Set down-rigger up and dropped lures to 40 feet and reeled in one 20" and an 18". Used Blue/silver shad imitations (kastmasters, humdingers) and colorado/willow leaf flashers in front. Came home with fresh orange-meat trout dinner for the family.
      City: Cottonwood

Tips: Use Pro-cure "Shad Gel" on your lures when trolling for trout. Makes a world of difference.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Arrived at the lake at 5 pm and headed to Dry Creek area. Fished everything from worms to crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater, jigs and drop shot and only caught 2 small fish before it got dark. After dark headed into Cherry Creek and started using brush hogs and black spinnerbaits. That's when the bite picked up. My son caught several on the blade right against the shore. I caught 2 on the hog.
      City: Rohnert Park

Tips: Black blades at night. throw to bank and let sink before starting your retreive. Most hits came on the fall.
Enjoy the cool quiet evenings and get out after dark.

      Water Temp: 71-77

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Made my first cast @ 6:20a and a few casts later, boated a decent lmb on a vixen. 2nd stop in Skiers cove resulted in 5 more keeps on tw and shakey heads. The graph showed alot of active fish, but not active enough as I couldn't get them to bite. By 9a the graph was blank and the bites also disappeared. Made more than a few stops going into the narrows (working the rt side) for more of the same, nada.
After experiencing no bites for 2-3 hours, I switched to the opposite side and was able to pattern small keepers on hula grubs. Ended up satisfied with about 12 fish in the narrows and started to head back to Capell's.
On the main body, the wind was up and stopped at a windy point and pulled out a spinner bait rod. On the first cast, I got nailed by a freight train in shallow water. This fish gave me all I could handle on 10# test and when I finally boated it, she was smaller than her fight. But the 3# spot made me happy. Of course that extended my day as I made 3 more stops and 50 more casts with nada a bite, but it was good day for me. Off the water at 4p.
      City: emeryville

Tips: Before 9a the fish were shallow. (less than 10') The fish I caught in the narrows were 8-20'. I have had luck with Shakey head (brown worm) and hula grubs with 1/4oz. Color #301. In the narrows, it's better to fish where there is a ripple on the water. Hope that helps.

      Water Temp: 70+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Lake starting to drop a little each day, went out of Lime Saddle, over cast, lite breeze, started fishing the steep rock faces all alone the houseboats to the 70 bridge, got a few, fish were biteing lite and if you didn't act fast they were off. Fish were around the 20 foot range some 15 or so. Most areas we fished had clouds of minnows, from 1/8th to 1/4 inch, literly thouands, bass were feeding heavely on them, most bass we caught were pucking up minnows. Moved down below 70 bridge and fished steep rocky banks without veggetation on them, these areas seem to be the best. 5 and 4 inch senkos on a 1/4 oz. leadhead wacky style worked real well, the best color was greenpumkin, and other greens worked well also. Sweetbeavers in babybass, and green with purple flake were hot also, 4" Mojave Oxblood was a good bet. Fished all the way to the north fork and down about a mile, fish were spotty but did well alday, 5 over to 17", 5 under, and about 20 plus in the slot, fish were fat with minnows and crawdads.
      City: Orland

Tips: We fished everything with 1/4 oz. leadhead to get it down to the 20' range, some fish came on the fall but most were right on the bottom. Some hit and ran, agin most were lite with pressure, had to act fast. Saw some bass on beds, water was real clear, could see 10+ ft.most of the time. Fishing is still great, check out the mud lines after the boat traffic picks up, picked up a 2lbs. catfish and 2lb.COHO on senkos also. Color was not a big factor, most worked, but then agin the ones mentioned above did the best.

      Water Temp: 69-74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: June 16th through the 23rd

This last week I have been fishing the Red Bud and Rattlesnake arms to the Narrows.

The fishing has improved in the last few days and I'm catching some nice fish from 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 pounds on soft plastics, Jigs and frogs, and my friend Cody got a nice one on a crank bait and he got a 20 pound catfish on a split-shot.

I have been pitching the shallow cover, and fishing the Swimbait in the weeds. There is some action on the offshore rock piles that will improve when the bait starts to move around.

      City: Clear Lake

Tips: Slow down, make accurate casts and fish every piece of cover thoroughly. Best colors for me have been green pumpkin, purple and black. For the Swimbait I have been fishing the Hippo Tackle 5" Shad or Hitch color with a 3/8th oz weighted hook to get it into the thick weeds.

      Water Temp: 73 to 76

Report: There is a descent bite on bass to 3 pounds in 17 to 25 feet of water on jigs or baby brushhogs. You can also catch a few bass on rico's or buzzbaits in the early morning or late evening. Traffic is lite during the week.
      City: madera ca.

Tips: Dont get in a big hurry fishing a jig or the hog the bass are in the coves or any rock structure and brush piles and around standing trees.

      Water Temp: 71-73

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Since I just did a report, I will make this brief. Another half-day guide trip with two anglers that have done a little bass fishing. I thought drop-shotting would work well for them and it did for the most part. We had cloud cover early and I thought it would help the bite, but the spots were a little lethargic this morning. You would set the hook and they had already spit the worm. Weird. One of the fellows did catch one over the slot - barely - his first one of the day. We just fished the main body and a little of the middle fork. We just used 6" Robo worms and morning dawn w/ chartreuse tail was again the winner! Green craw was second place. Salt & pepper w/ chartreuse is starting to work also. Fish were deeper on a cloudy morning - go figure!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Maybe because of the lack of much hot weather, the lake is VERY clear - at least in the areas I have guided lately. Visibility is well over 10 feet! Finally saw some bluegill today - along with another small largemouth - and some BIG carp! They are lovin' all the underwater weedbeds! The slower bite could be blamed on the clear water with a totally flat lake - not a breath of wind!!

      Water Temp: 72ish

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Was fishing muddy to stained water the past 2 weeks with little success. Monday fished pretty clear water and what a difference clarity makes. Had 5 for 22lbs with 4 of them on topwater. Fished incoming tide from 10 to 3.
      City: Brentwood

Tips: Fishing clearer water was key Monday. But, that can change...hell, it probably already has.

Report: Shore fished near the damn. Arrived around 5pm and fished till 7pm. Only a few boats out but there wakes still made for murky visibility. Started out with black/red and white/red spinner baits and a shad minnow rap. No interest. Finished off with wack worm drop shot and t-rig worm with also no interest. One of those days....
      City: San Jose

Tips: Shore fishing has been pretty rough these past couple of weeks. Need a boat for Anderson unless going for cats near E. Dunne bridge.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Sunday morning the winds died down for the Junior Bass Club, (NorCal Bass Ratz). The cold front that blow the day before made it tough but the Juniors still came in with their limits of 3 bass. Not big but a limit. Senkos worked the best for most in and around the rocks with tules. With only 2.5 ft tide moving work it slow.
      City: Rocklin

Tips: look for those bass that are holding tight to cover.

      Water Temp: 66-69

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launced at New Hope and started at Beaver Slough; brother picked up a couple with a beaver tail (just a coincidence) on a football jig..took it on the fall. Zip for me trying t-rigged senko, lipless crank, money frog, and dropshotting Then moved to Little Potato Slough from the Tower Marina; brother picked up a couple more on the beaver working the tules. Moved to our fav spot along Mokulemne and I immediately picked up 3 on 1/2 oz gold/black Red-eye Shad, then 4 more on 1/4 oz orange craw Red-eye Shad. Lipless cranks seem to work for me on Mokulemne. Bro switched to same and picked up 3 more. Had three 2lbers and one 3lber as my decent fish; bro had same for his decent fish. Others were barely keepers but still fun to catch! Note: Also picked up a really weird looking fish..bass green color but long and skinny like a smelt or a hake but it took my lipless just like a bass...it threw the hook at the boat so didn't get a good look or a pic of it...anyone know what it is??
      City: folsom

Tips: Beaver worked for my bro, tossed between tules and weedline or just outside the weeline. My lipless cranks picked all mine up, tossed right at the tules and in the "tule inlets".
