Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Ladds-fished Mildred Isl. Frog bit in the early morning 3 fish. Sencos (dark color) after that, about 15 fish, no kickers. Some wind not too bad.
      Great day all in all..
      City: Fresno

Tips: Fish on weekdays if you can durning summer if you don't want to share with pleasure boats.

      Water Temp: 73-80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Water temps from low 70's to 80 even. Viz...Clear on the walls dingy everywhere else. Water elevation has dropped some which has started to kill off some of the weeds. I had over 20 fish on buzzbaits, three swimbait fish, one dropshot fish...Just to see if they were where I left them. 6 senko fish...one 7lb. 10 oz. one at 5lb 4 ozs. and one at 6 pounds 13 ozs. I had a great trip and just fished what I wanted where I wanted when I wanted...Lake was deserted because there was an evening tourney....Dave Poolman won it with 31 pounds and a nine pounder...

      Rip

I had a dbl. digit miss my bait on two back to back casts....darn near stopped my heart on the second swipe  She just plain missed the bait the first time and missed the hooks the second.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished a couple of hours each morning for the last week, primarily from the narrows to Rattlesnake. Overall it was pretty slow - for the first couple of days around the 4th I caught more cats than bass! Seemed to be the same for others I spoke with. Got a bit better later in the week (perhaps as the holiday crowds subsided?). Quite a sight to see all the carp spawning behind Rattlesnake.
      City: Glenhaven, CA

Tips: Surprisingly slow bite on drop shot/dart headed worms, usually these work well. Most productive was Basstrix 4" swim baits off Henderson Point - got 2 4+'s in successive casts. Bite for all was very soft.

      Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: 7 bass towards north end. South end is clumped up again with algae bloom. Stinks real bad. Shag rock was a little better water. Wish F&G/County would let this lake go through it's natural cycle and stop spraying chemicals that are killing off all shad/baitfish and fry. $10.00 monthly stickers are a waist (nice to know money is going to spray chemicals in lake and killing off fish.
      City: pleasant hill

Tips: Fish cleaner lakes and try again next year.

Report: Agreed with earlier posts. It is time for local fisherman to somehow mobilize to get our access back to this lake. When I was a kid it was power boats one day, sail boats another. We have dealt with muscle inspection at other lakes in the area, we could clearly deal with it here. And, hey, electric motors only... fine! Let's just get some access to this beautiful location. In the tips section is a link to send email directly to santa clara county parks... i think if enough people start making a lot of noise, we may be able to get people thinking. Screw the rowing club - i see them in power boats buzzing across the lake and it pisses me off I can't be on there in at least a float tube. I have caught some nice fish here (crappie too) back in the day.. it's time to get back on Lexington!

Report: I live in the hills, just a few minutes from Lexington. I've only lived here for about 3 years, and never bothered to fish Lexington before this summer, since the lake was so empty. Since mid-June, I've fished it 3 times and my sons and I have caught a good number of little bass each time. When I say little, I mean little---like 6 inches would be a lunker. We fished near the boat dock each time, and I'd bet some of these bass were stocked there (it's the only place to drive down to the water), since the further we move away from the dock, the less fish we catch. Anyways, there seem to be lots of small bass, there are definitely tons of minnows, and clouds of bass fry are everywhere. If the lake stays reasonably full for a few years, it should provide some quality fishing. Of course, you have to fish from shore, but everybody has the same handicap, so that doesn't bother me too much. Well, the rowers would have an advantage, but I'm pretty sure they're not fishing---at least I've never seen anybody troll that fast...
      City: Los Gatos

Tips: Good fun for kids who just want to catch something and not concerned about the size.

      Water Temp: 77

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched from Markley Cove at 6:30 AM, hit a few points with topwater followed by drop shot before leaving the Narrows. Nothing. Ran up to Big Island and landed two nice largemouth and a beautiful small mouth in about 20 minutes with drop shot around 9AM. Ran up to Putah Creek and hit rocky walls and points. Nothing. Ran back to the Narrows and pulled in a nice spot. Ended the day at 2PM with a total of 4 fish in the boat. Only saw three other boats fishing for bass. Dozens of Kokanee trollers.

      Water Temp: 74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had a great day on the water, but fish had a little lock jaw. I went out for four hours in the morning and only boated 7 fish. Fish were caught on tubes in 30' of water off main body points. Last week I was up at the lake and the bite was awesome cathing a 18lb bag. That day I was jigging a spoon on bait fish around 25-35' water. The boat traffic is crazy and no getting away from it. Mud lines where producing as well
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Deep main body points, natural color tubes, jigging spoons, mud lines all produced fish. Don't be afraid to hit main body points with lots of boat traffic as the fish still would bite.

      Water Temp: 66 to 72

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

      Report: June 5-8th.

On Saturday I fished the Rattlesnake arm to State Park and caught around 20 fish using worms, Jigs and swimbaits. The bite was much better for me in the morning.

Monday and Tuesday I fished Rattlesnake and the Red Bud arm and had a slower bite and still got a lot of fish but it was a bit harder work.

I was flippin the heavy cover, thules, weeds, and fishing the deep breaks with Jigs and soft plastics, also I fished with swimbaits and some reaction baits around ambush points.
Most of the fish were only 3 1/2 pounders, kinda small but its still lots of fun to go out and catch a bunch of them.
      City: Lower Lake

Tips: Fish the heavy cover or flip thules. Fish the deeper breaks.

      Water Temp: 80-84

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: After picking up my boat from Capitol City Marine (little odds and ends to be fixed), I decided to hit Amador for the evening bite. I knew it would be tough because of all the Sierra thunderstorms (they always shut off the bite)and the 4th of July weekend. However, the trip was worthwhile about 20 minutes after launch (5 pm) when I got a great blowup on my green Snagproof frog. I love it when I am so stunned by a blowup that I don't set the hook immediately. Maybe that's why I land most of my frog fish. This one stayed on the hook and she went 4 lbs 5 oz. Not a monster, but fun! I missed another blowup and that was it. I was reading the water as the Sierra clouds drifted over the lake - it became the dead sea. Not a single rise of anything and only saw a few shad dimpling. I decided to throw my B&M Piranha swim jig and landed a 3 pounder and missed another after dark. Just as it turned dark, I fished a Junebug 10" Power worm and hooked a big one but lost her after 10 seconds or so. Missed another Power worm fish and that was my action. I left about 11 pm.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The water has seen quite an algae bloom in the past few days and visibility is limited. There arn't too many fish below 30 feet right now. The lake looks great - only down a few feet.

Report: launched out of B&W today and headed out to franks with no luck, then headed back and worked my way around stanten island, only caught one for the day...cant believe it!
early morning i was throwin a dirty white bully wa 65 into slop and got nothin, then senko's at the weed edges and still nothin
finnaly i picked up the delta craw jig and landed a nice little 2 1/2 lb. largemouth
      City: dixon

Tips: i need some help on finding these fish

Water Temp: Mid 70s to Mid

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The fishing has been much better in the last week, and we are now catching an average of 15 to 20 fish a day. Still not to many big ones, lots of 2 1/2 to 3 pounders a few 4 pounders and a nice small mouth.

I am fishing plastic worms 4" to 7" Texas ridged and Dropshot. Jigs, and some Reaction Baits. In the weeds try Frogs, 5" Swimbaits, Sinkos and Swim Jigs. The best action for me has been in the weeds and thules. For reaction baits try Deep Cranks, Swimbaits, and Buzzbaits.

I have been fishing both the south and north parts of the lake and both are fishing well.

      Have fun !
      City: CLera Lake

Tips: Try the Swim Jig in the weeds and Deep cranks around rocky areas.

Report: I too have to agree with David!

This is a late report as I did a family camping trip from July 7-11. The water quality is really bad at Clear Lake. The keys were completely choked off in some parts with nasty green/blue scum/foam and there are areas where this stuff has made the keys completely unfishable. The lake is already getting green and getting choked off with algae in many areas. Yes, there are some spots that have clear water and this is where I caught all my fish but these areas are small and few and far between. I could barely make it into Rodmen slough because my motor kept getting fouled up with all the algae already. I have never seen the lake like this so early in the year. In late August through September, yes, but not in early July. Especially since the hot weather really just started getting going a few week before I was there.

Just to keep this a report, I got 9 fish over the three and a half days I was there, fishing a few hours each evening and each morning. All on Texas rigged plastics and all were cookie cutter 2.5-3 pounders.

      Water Temp: 78*

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Yet another late report-stayed with the family for 4th weekend, 1st-7th. Did great, lots of cookie cutter 2lbers with an occasional 3 in the mix, best fish going 4.3. Had best luck again on Yami Creatures in cinnamon and pumpkin t-rigged with an 1/8th tru-tungsten weight. Picked apart pockets in the tules and structure around docks, fished Windflower Peninsula, Rattlesnake and Anderson Islands. Hit Hwy 20 side up past the narrows, action wasn't quite as good, bumped t-rigged worms off of Shag and narrows ledges for a few. Didn't do as well as Mr. Perkins on the swimbaits, had some short strikes and bumps with a couple of hookups (maybe presentation?) on Osprey's. Threw the kitchen sink first couple of days, patterned it out and enjoyed a great time fishing. Weather has been beautiful, and have to disagree with previous poster about the water conditions. It rained all winter, the water is way up (not sure of Rumsey right now, but almost at 8 in May) and just perfect. 14 of us swam, fished, went water skiing, kayaked and no algae, the water was refreshing and great. Very few weeds this year too, due to cold winter and high water. It was AWESOME, and the fishing is breaking wide open, good numbers but not a lotta hawgs.
      City: Clear Lake Park

Tips: Fish every pocket, point and indentation in the tulies, go slow and let it sit after it drops. If you graph fish on offshore structure, drop a worm or a jig on 'em and LET IT SIT awhile before you move it.

Report: Took the family out tuesday evening. Was fun for everyone. The fish were in the flooded brush in 7 to 15ft most were 13 and 14" some were smaller. My daughter had 5 in about 5 minuets. we fished from 7 to about 8:30. All fish were caught on bluegill grubs on 1/8th and 1/16th dart heads. The best places for us were sloping mud banks on the main lake. Fun stuff.
      City: San Jose

Tips: 1/8 and 1/16th oz dart heads bluegill 4" grubs worked for us.

Report: Had a really good day even with holiday activity on the lake. I just had a so so day. My partner put 18lbs in boat and culled my only 2 keepers. Only caught about 10 fish total, but the quality was there. Main body and up the river were good. My partner was dialed in with a hula grub and could do no wrong. I eventually switched over to it, but still nothing. He was using 6lb floro and I was using 8lb mono. It must have been the difference. No topwater, crank or drop shot bite. Draggin was the only producer.
