Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Slow gowin'. Fished mid-lake for 5 hours. Strugeled to get bit. 4 fish, 3 confirmed landings . Bites were between Conroy Cut and Clayton slough. The technique was cast and find something to talk about then check to see it there is something on your line (deadsticking).Natural worm colors. High water conditions combined w/ high winds.
City: bahiaTips: Get a non-boater who can work a net; lost a bruiser at boat. Be careful what you wish for.

Eastman Lake

Water Temp: 68.9 to 71.3
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: We hit the lake friday afternoon again it was breezy and we tryed a few different methods in catching the bass we added spinnerbaits & buzzbaits along with jigs but the jig fishing out preformed the two other baits. Dead sticking the jigs again and having some patiences only produce bass to 2 pounds. We fished in the same 17 to 24 foot range with jigs I got a phone report from one of my friends that fished the lake from early morning in the am till about 12:30pm friday and he reported most of his bass were caught on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits and also some senko bass(WACKY HOOK )style. And he reported he had some bass to 3 pounds most of his bass were in less than 10 feet of water.
City: madera caTips: Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits throw in some senko's in early morning and in the afternoon toss some jigs if its breezy try dead sticking the baits i used mostly 1/4oz. bullet head jigs in lite green pumpkin/barbwire/grn/blk flake. w/208watermelon red/black flake 4" twin tail yamamoto grub as my trailer on a spinning outfit with 8lbs test and also a 3/8oz football head jig in the same color w/208 5" twin tail yamamoto grub as a trailer on casting outfit with 10lbs test. Both jigs produced about the same number of bass. I would even try baby brushogs also thats another bait that might produce some nice bass.Im a die hard jig fisherman and its tuff for me to throw other baits other than jigs and a few buzzbaits. There are several baits that are producing here and there are a few bigger bass being caught not only from boats but there producing from the bank also.

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: senkos along the inlet dropoffs and some willows/trees. not real consistent but picked up some 1-2lbers (5). 5" strike king zero (senko type) in junebug worked for me this time. nothing on dropshot but then didn't work it long.
City: folsomTips: mostly senkos, wacky and flick shakin' them. most took on the fall.
riverat: check out kent brown's video on summer topwater...talks about doing topwater all the way to 2pm and he's on the money. sometimes an area looks good and my brother and i will do topwater and we hit. summer and warm days of fall we always work topwater first thing in the morning and then throughout the day if it looks good. even til sundown.

City: reddingTips: use white senko's, yamamoto or yum, blue pearl with silver, the whiter ones worked well for us.

Bullards Bar Lake
-
Water Temp: 58.5
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started the day of pretty slow With only a couple small ones on a tube and a shaky head. We finally figured out the bite and caught a total of 40 fish with the biggest 4.5 lbs on a ripbait. Threw a Swimbait for a few hours in the evening, hooked two nice ones on it but they spit it before i could get a look at them, typical swimbait fish!
City: Flatlander CityTips: Dont bother going in the backs of the creeks unless u want numbers. The bigger fish were on the main body on steep walls. Throw reaction and hold on... These fish smoke em! Always practice catch and release this is a great fishery, lets keep it that way.

California Delta
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Spent only a couple of hours fishing after lunch. Caught 2, one was about 1lb. on a drop shot and the other was about 3lbs. on a tube near Rock Slough.
Tips: Bass Tip for Vinny: The bass in all the Asian markets across the entire U.S. are typically farm raised. You can tell because they are usually harvested after they reach the most profitable market size. This means that all the fish in the market's fish tanks will always be about the same size, color and weight. So unless you or your "friend" saw a 1 lb. bass together with a 4 pounder, with different colorations and various fishing injuries, don't assume they're illegally caught by a fishermen with a bobber.
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: if you guys dont pay attention black bass will be the next thing with no size limit or limit at all we are all in store for a big battle that we will lose if we dont watch out the bobber fishermen are the least of are worries it the politicians we have to fight with

Clear Lake

Water Temp: 55-60
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the north area of Lakeport and found the bite tough. Light wind most of the day. Caught a couple on drop shot, 2 on a senko in the tules and another on a Yum Frog on the back side of the tules near some trees. My son lost one over 4 lbs on the senko.
City: Rohnert ParkTips: Found some bed fish late in the day in the Lagoons. Hooked a couple, but most were not locked on.
-
Water Temp: 58-64
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished thurs and friday with my partner. Decided to try for a swimbait repeat of the FLW, LOL! Tossed an osprey 9" in hitch for 3 hours. 2 hits and coverted on a 4 and 5. Decided to change over to jigs. Seemed to be the ticket. No big numbers but quality. 18.57 best 5 thurs. Friday struggled, every bit of north and main body pre-fishing, 6-8 boats deep in some spots, 3 fish for 10.12. Swimbaits zippo, frogs zippo, jigs yes, 1 senko fish.
City: san franciscoTips: Tournament season if full swing at clearlake, tough to find a SECRET spot! Only spotted 1 bed in 2 days managed to pull both fish. Fish the tules 4-8 feet once the sun is up and pick them apart slowly!

Folsom Lake

Water Temp: 62
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: This is my 4th time fishing at folsom lake. I kinda took my time fishing on flats n rocky points to kinda learn the lake. The first n second time I fish here was when it was a river or a pond. The third time was last week n figure they still in spawing area. This week they still there but not as big or as many. Flats with submerge rock pile ..i threw popper, crankbait, spinner to no result. Threw carolina rig from flat to deep with no result, hoping the female be in deep after spawning. Went with drop shot n bite was on. I found them in flats w/submerge rocks near by and calm from the wind. Caught a 2lbs spotted in tree in about 12 feet of water, try a few other submerge tree but only that one i caught spotted. Caught smallie in submerge rock b4 the flats, LMB in flats. Caught 6 lost 3 nxt to the boat, wacky style..don't set hook hard enough. On one of the flat i've must saw light 20 plus carp in the shallow chasing wat look like fry, blow up everywhere. Saw a few 10-15lbs cruising in 10 ft of water. I wonder is it legal to use a bow on carp at lakes? I know the fight real hard n was thinking about to snag it with rattle trap for the fun fight n release it of course but i didn't..haha
City: elk groveTips: once i've caught fish, try to find the identical spot n fish it fast but slowly. Robo worm n senko was the go to bait. DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHEN TOP WATER IS ON AT THIS LAKE?? WHEN WOULD BE THE GOOD TIME TO FISH SUBMERGE ROCK PILE IN THE DEEP?

McClure Lake

Water Temp: 63-66
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Toughest day of May fishing I have ever seen. Water was crystal clear, and NO BASS SHALLOW. The water again cools way off with sundown. Very windy and somewhat cold for this time of year. We fished from 3:00 P.M. till Dark, and caught a grand total of two fish. I fished all the usual spots, but all the bites except for the fish caught were "Play bites"..tap, then off. I cruised the back of the coves, and saw no beds, and even the carp were just cruising around, not even rolling around the banks..Tried senkos, brush hogs, rip baits, lizards. I caught my one on a dark smoke senko in 15' of water, and my buddy caught a pretty nice 2' in 30 feet on a cotton candy lizard...
City: Merced, CATips: No advice, hopefully the weather warms up. It still is down in the 40's at night, and the water at the dam was 66, but at horseshoe, it was at 62, and cooling. I think the cold water, and rising water elevation has messed it up. Search and move often until you find fish. They have to be somewhere...

Clear Lake

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Has been windy as hell here. Broke in the new pontoon float tube. Saw many fish under docks in deeper water. Fish were very close to surface. It's supposed to cool down so we'll see how it goes. I do have some bad news. The hydrillia is coming up fast. I fished the Buckingham area and its already hitting the surface. I have seen huge patches so watch out when throwing your crank baits.
City: K-villeTips: I'm looking for float tube fisherman to fish with. I don't want to join any clubs but If any body needs a fishing partner, email me.

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 60-65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: It is off the chart fishing once again. Three days produced 300 to 400 spots - not our best year but excellent nevertheless. Some largies and smallmouth too with a bonus salmon caught on a tube bait. Second day was impressive as we caught roughly 50 over the slot with one hitting 20". It was hard to believe the size we were catching that day. Back end of one wind blown cove produced roughly 18 spots in about 45 minutes. Wide open - everything works. Would like to go right back up again and do it all over.
City: OrovilleTips: Plastic of just about any type, topwater, spinnerbait, crank bait... Did I leave anything out. Great lake - great fishing.

Sonoma Lake

Water Temp: 65 or so
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Had a great day down the Yorty Creek arm. Started out slow sight fishing for some cruising fish in 5 foot of water with weightless worms and other soft plastics, but the fish weren't super interested. Saw lots of pairs actually in the act of spawning and left those alone. Only caught two fish between ten and two but then the fish went on a tear between two and four and I caught about 18, including my biggest bass in three years and a fat 2.5 lb smallie. I caught them all on a shallow diving ripbait and they were all in 5-6 feet of water and 6-15 feet from the bank. The big female I caught weighed about 8 lbs and would have been my biggest bass ever if she hadn't just spawned. I also got crapped on by a cormorant, but I didn't mind so much since it was a great day.
