Report: I just finished fishing the A/C pro / am and the WCB pro/am. I took 13th and 25th. Almost all my fish came on a 4" senko wacky rigged on a gamakatsu extra wide gap finesse hooks on 6-lb. flourocarbon. The key to getting the senko down to the 20-25 foot depth needed was pegging it in the center with a nail weight, and riggin it wacky style with a latex rubber band. Pro-cure added also made a significant difference and I would suggest using it. Most of my fish came fishing the stump infested canyons in the pit river, some of the canyons held bigger fish than others. The key was casting the senko 20' off the shore and let it sit, for as long as 45 seconds, twitch a couple times and cast again. Make sure to watch your line and use it as a bite indicator. I did catch a few key fish on a osprey line through swimbait during the A/C tournament, but those larger females were spawning by the time of the WCB tournament, so the swimbait bite was off, by which I did not realize until after throwing it all the first day of the WCB tournament.

Report: Fish a friendly tourney this weekend 24th to 25th. Bite is slow but getting better. Caught 15 to 20 fish each day. Had to throw back lots of 10 to 11 inchers. Big fish weighed 3.37 lbs. fished isolated trees in coves. green worm worked best. other guys caught fish on white spinners and cranks in the wind and early morning. no much size to them.
City: Yuba CityTips: If i could do it all over again i would fish ever light green tree in every cove.

Sonoma Lake

Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started off fishing Yorty Creek arm with my brother in-law John with not much success, water was dirty & stained and the temp dropped down to 54. We picked up few on drop shot, tried crankbait, spinnerbait & Jerkbait with no takers. With all the rain at the beginning of the week it messed things up, the fish were back out on the points and suspending. It was sunny but pretty windy, which made things a little tough, we ended up with 9 fish, largest was 3lbs by John, then we left @ 3:00.
City: PacificaTips: Wait for a couple of weeks of warm weather and it should be good.

Ended up with 3 smallies and 4 largemouth fishing on Luck-E-Strike bass magic, Z-Man ZinkerZ and Strike King Zeros. Fished the shore from Martini Cove to Jack Rabbit Flats. No real monsters but all fish averaged 2 lbs. I gotta come back and hit this place from a boat!
City: San JoseTips: Water was clear, but still fished dark baits like I'm used to in dirty water. Junebug worked like an charm!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Hey thanks alot for the info. That helps out alot. That was exactly what i was wondering. Ya i just got a new boat so its got the 3 star carb rating so i should be able to put it in there. Is there any horse power or length restrictions. The lake sounds like all the San Diego lakes that I am used to fishing. Ill be out there in APR and will post my first couple of trip reports on here.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Ok...I am bored. I agree these people that keep big, spawning females are morons that just want to brag to their buddies. Anyway, I no longer post when I catch BIG bass...not worth it. I fished in the pouring rain and managed 2 very good fish right on the bank. Got them on a go to bait of mine that usually produces. Let's all just fish and try to persuade these baby killers to release their catches as they happen.

Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: My partner Dan and I went out between rain storms for 5 hours last night. Dan caught one while I was parking the truck, and then caught another a few cast later on of all things... a buzzbait believe it or not. The next thing he caught was me. Right on the head. , but it could have been worse. Things picked up at dusk and we boated 25 total with the biggest going #6 and we had a ton of #4 & #5"s.
I caught mine on c.b.'s and mag jerkbaits. dans mostly came on the buzzbait or c.b., but he did get one I missed on a senko. we had doubles twice once it got started. About 9:00p.m. the skies opened up again and we bailed.Tips: No rhyme or reason to location. We caught em in thin water and thick. they did want darker colors though.

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Would like to mention the Chico Conservation Bass Club tournament this Saturday. Launching from the dam, 80 bucks includes big fish, food and raffle. You can sign up that morning if you haven't already. And you don't need a full blown bass boat to fish this. But you need to keep the fish alive so a livewell of some sort. Also want to mention the flyer for the Yuba City Bass Busters tournament is available at Oroville Outdoors. Its another really fun tournament.
City: ParadiseTips: Shouldn't have much trouble catching a limit. The waters 126' from the top as of today. Just throw the stuff you have confidence in and you do just fine. Lots of debris so watch for that.

Water Temp: 56 plus
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Toaday I was on a walk around the lake on the conn valley side and noticed the bass are starting to bed up. This has been happening for a few weeks now. There were a few pairs stuck together like glue and very aggresive towards intrusive baits laying in there beds. So this is more of an update of the way fish behave. I did stick a few bass.

Water Temp: 62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of LazyM 8am and had 16lbs of frog fish by 9. Frog bite died after that. Don't know if it was the wind that picked up, or the morning topwater bite was finished. Either way it was good to see them aggressively eating the white phat frog. The rest of the day was ho-hum.
City: BrentwoodTips: Bring your grass frog rod. They were 30-40ft back in the thick grass and a chore to get out. Only lost one (the first one) coming off halfway to the boat.

Amador Lake

Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: toss spinner, swim bait 4/6/8", jig,n wake bait but no taker. I did wat Matt S did n got bite. Just read Matt's report n notice my bite was the same but with different worm. Tried Aaron magic n a few other worm but no bite. Til I change to the right one n bite was on. Got there a little late n met up with a lot of boat traffic . That made the bite a little tough but once traffic dies down it was on.I had other boat cut infront of my path b4 but today i had a guy on the bank walk in front of my path n toss his lure in front of me. I guess he didn't see my 8 inches swim bait..haha
City: elk groveTips: spot that had a lot of moss didn't produce for me. Weeds was the key n points that had kind of a slow tapper(fish was sitting on the drop off). fish was in 5-10 ft of water. Try different worm til u get one. Bite is much noticeable. I had a few fish tick tick me twice n three times cuz i wasn't sure it was a fish or sinker dragging again the rock or snagging on weeds

Bullards Bar Lake
-
Water Temp: 54-61
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: If you have the chance to get out this is the place to be right now. The spots are big and fat and easy to catch. The junior Bass Club spent the day on this great water fishing for those big fat SPOTS. Most of the bass were found in the back of coves when you find the water falls. Using a darter head, worm and some time. They found big bags upto 16 plus pounds for five fish.Find the time right now and enjoy the day.
City: RocklinTips: fish slow and have plenty of darter heads
