      Water Temp: 75-78

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: First lets start with water clarity I put 0-2 foot but it depends on where you were, at Red Bud launch ramp there is no visibility !! There is 2-3 inches of what my 5 year old son called turtle poop:) but if you go accross the lake you will find 2-4 foot of visibitily and than got down 100 yards and you are back to 6 inches of visibility !
OK now the report, after my starter went out at the launch ramp with my boat & trailer in the turtle poop a nice guy pulled my out and I got someone to put a new starter in for $50.00 and I was back on the water, only 2 hrs lost !! but it all paid off when I hooked a 7.5 lb on my 2nd cast with my bluegill swim bait, OK its only a 4 incher but its still a swim bait :) After Javier & Tony in there nice Skeeter took the photo for me (posted in photo's) I went right back to where I got it and tossed the bluegill swimbait out again on the 2nd cast again wham!!! I hooked a fish that was even bigger than the 7.5, this fish pulled drag on my 8 foot powel rod that I had the drag tightened down almost as far as I could, this fish hit in 5 feet of water and went straight down to 20 feet and again pull drag for about 5-10 yards, the 7.5 lb fish did not pull drag so this was much bigger, "it" never came up and like a dork I started playing it, I have only been doing the swimbait thing for a little while and I know you are not supposed to play a fish with a 8 foot rod and 20 lb big game line, you are supposed to just hall him in, do not play him and I let the fish have a little slack and it came un buttoned, because this fish never came up I will say it was a 15 lb catfish, this makes me feel better :)Saturday was 13 total fish to 7.5 lbs (landed), 9 on swim bait, 2 fish on creature bait medium size watermellon candy (bubba shotting) and 2 fish on new worm Javier kicked down on a shakie head (can't say color, Promised Javier)
On Sunday only fished 6 hrs but got 6 fish, 4 on the bluegill and 2 on drop shot but my son and I swam quite a bit, it was hot!
      City: San Jose

Tips: #1 go to carwash that was accross the steet from Red Bud launch ramp to get turtle poop off boat and trailer $3.00
#2 Slow roll the bluegill swimbait like a spinnerbait and hang on ! or any large crank bait will work in a dark color (very stained water)

#3 Use your plastics but go dark.

Report: Update from knowledgeable source at San Benito Water District indicates the environmental review and permitting processes will now take until the fall of 2010, so the dosing with potash won't happen until the winter of 2010 at the earliest. That could mean that re-opening the lake for recreational fishing may not happen until the summer of 2011. Fortunately, all agencies involved are still cooperating well together and all want the process of eradicating the mussels to be done quickly and efficiently, but thoroughly so there will be no possibility of later reinfestation of San Justo or contamination of downstream sites. Good news is that all agencies involved are working toward eventually re-opening the lake for recreational use.

      Water Temp: 78-82

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had a very nice 6 hr guide trip last night - 7pm to 1 am. Evening bite was only fair but got better as the night set in. Bass were not hitting hard but did seem to be feeding some. I showe them plenty of good structure and hopefully they will do well in an upcoming tournament. They fished very well - getting most of the bites! We had over 20 hookups, landing 13 up to 7lbs 2 oz. Good limit a little over 19 lbs. Wish I could say more, but "zipped lip" is my policy when helping folks pre-fish. We did fish most of the lake.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: It is no secret that there are plenty of weeds, so plan for that. Because it was a cooler evening, the normal east breeze didn't blow much - gorgeous night!!!

      Water Temp: 68-72

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I see there has not been many post lately so here is along one. :) One day it's good and another it's bad. Seems it's been this way all year. Guiding has been a struggle all year. I've found if you're fishing the rocks with some deep water you can catch fish on cranks and senkos also a 6" worms if you feel like finessing. Then open water flats with weeds I've been getting some crank fish, like little mandeville, franks and little franks and places like that throwing a Spped trap, rattle traps, Lucky Craft CB cranks and the new Daniki shallow runner in crawdad and green colos. Most of the fish I've been catching especailly the better ones have been in the current. "No current no fish" I've been getting quite a few fish on the small Revenge deep runner spinner bait I think it's called silver side 1/2oz slow rolling it along the rick banks. For top water I've been throwing a Secret lures chubby frog kind of a blue sparkle color (I think it looks like a dragon fly)not a ton of frog fish but one here and there. For the best chance of getitng a big bag is punching (fo it all day your bound to get five big bites) just look for hyican with some deep water underneith points are best. 1 1/2 oz weight, chigger craw or beaver (I don't thing color matters)
      City: Martinez

Tips: It's tough so make every cast count and you'lkl cath more fish.

Report: The government's stupidity never ceases to amaze me. you have the fish and game trying to get a piece of the action by fining fishermen who weigh in more then 5 pounds of bass in a bag, you have the water districts trying to blame bass for the salmon and delta smelt decline, and the list goes on and on. I don't know what the deal is with these retards but why are they in control again?

Report: I am camping at Del Valle this week. I heard there is an Quaggula inspection. How does this work and what are the fees?

Also, I have never fished Del Valle before for stripers and blacks. Can some one provide me some insight? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also read they have a 10 mph limit. How do I determine this if my speedometer is broken? LOL...

Report: Ruth Lake is now doing boat inspections. Make sure your boat is clean, drained and dry. This is an actual physical inspection ,not to be confused with the so called inspection at Clear Lake. The fishing has been poor for me ,quality seems to be a little better the numbers seem to be way down. I caught an 11 inch fish saturday evening that looked a little different , after looking a little closer it was a spotted bass , what kind of a idiot would do that. Has anyone else caught any spots? This lake needs all the help it can get , and planting spots wont help .

      Tips: release the big ones.

Report: I wanted to go to Vaqueros (much more luck there) but it was too windy. Caught two bass in Arroyo back pond around 8 and 11am. One on a sunfish colored crank and the other on a night crawler. Seen about 4 nice ones swimming around, but they weren't hungry. Both were caught off the bank in one of the small coves.

Report: fished middle and south delta for half day Sunday. Threw the shell cracker the whole time on extended tule points till my arm loosened up. Managed to land a couple 2's and a 3. And a five. Lost a 6+ at the boat ( my dog is trying to learn how to net). Then picked up the senco. Picked up another 5.4. And a few around 1-2# each. Off the water at noon.
Loaded up the boat and broke a leaf spring after leaving rivers end. I want to say thanks to gene over there for loaning me the tools and parts to get back on the road! Awesome service.
