Water Temp: 78-82
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Had a very nice 6 hr guide trip last night - 7pm to 1 am. Evening bite was only fair but got better as the night set in. Bass were not hitting hard but did seem to be feeding some. I showe them plenty of good structure and hopefully they will do well in an upcoming tournament. They fished very well - getting most of the bites! We had over 20 hookups, landing 13 up to 7lbs 2 oz. Good limit a little over 19 lbs. Wish I could say more, but "zipped lip" is my policy when helping folks pre-fish. We did fish most of the lake.
City: Yuba CityTips: It is no secret that there are plenty of weeds, so plan for that. Because it was a cooler evening, the normal east breeze didn't blow much - gorgeous night!!!

Water Temp: 68-72
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I see there has not been many post lately so here is along one. :) One day it's good and another it's bad. Seems it's been this way all year. Guiding has been a struggle all year. I've found if you're fishing the rocks with some deep water you can catch fish on cranks and senkos also a 6" worms if you feel like finessing. Then open water flats with weeds I've been getting some crank fish, like little mandeville, franks and little franks and places like that throwing a Spped trap, rattle traps, Lucky Craft CB cranks and the new Daniki shallow runner in crawdad and green colos. Most of the fish I've been catching especailly the better ones have been in the current. "No current no fish" I've been getting quite a few fish on the small Revenge deep runner spinner bait I think it's called silver side 1/2oz slow rolling it along the rick banks. For top water I've been throwing a Secret lures chubby frog kind of a blue sparkle color (I think it looks like a dragon fly)not a ton of frog fish but one here and there. For the best chance of getitng a big bag is punching (fo it all day your bound to get five big bites) just look for hyican with some deep water underneith points are best. 1 1/2 oz weight, chigger craw or beaver (I don't thing color matters)
City: MartinezTips: It's tough so make every cast count and you'lkl cath more fish.

California Delta
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: The government's stupidity never ceases to amaze me. you have the fish and game trying to get a piece of the action by fining fishermen who weigh in more then 5 pounds of bass in a bag, you have the water districts trying to blame bass for the salmon and delta smelt decline, and the list goes on and on. I don't know what the deal is with these retards but why are they in control again?

Del Valle Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I am camping at Del Valle this week. I heard there is an Quaggula inspection. How does this work and what are the fees?
Also, I have never fished Del Valle before for stripers and blacks. Can some one provide me some insight? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I also read they have a 10 mph limit. How do I determine this if my speedometer is broken? LOL...

Ruth Lake
-
Water Temp: 74
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Ruth Lake is now doing boat inspections. Make sure your boat is clean, drained and dry. This is an actual physical inspection ,not to be confused with the so called inspection at Clear Lake. The fishing has been poor for me ,quality seems to be a little better the numbers seem to be way down. I caught an 11 inch fish saturday evening that looked a little different , after looking a little closer it was a spotted bass , what kind of a idiot would do that. Has anyone else caught any spots? This lake needs all the help it can get , and planting spots wont help .
City: EurekaTips: release the big ones.

Shasta Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Main Lake 13-15in. topwater real early,if they dont go right away go to dd crank,or carolina rigged floating rip-bait in a shad pattern seems to work best. clear earth tone plastics working too.shad or gray plastics too.Good Fishing To All.
City: ReddingTips: if you go out about an hour earlier than you usually do,you can really take your time and just have fun.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I wanted to go to Vaqueros (much more luck there) but it was too windy. Caught two bass in Arroyo back pond around 8 and 11am. One on a sunfish colored crank and the other on a night crawler. Seen about 4 nice ones swimming around, but they weren't hungry. Both were caught off the bank in one of the small coves.
City: San RamonTips: Go early. Watch out for all the dogs and snakes. Vaqueros is better.

California Delta

Water Temp: 80
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: fished middle and south delta for half day Sunday. Threw the shell cracker the whole time on extended tule points till my arm loosened up. Managed to land a couple 2's and a 3. And a five. Lost a 6+ at the boat ( my dog is trying to learn how to net). Then picked up the senco. Picked up another 5.4. And a few around 1-2# each. Off the water at noon.
Loaded up the boat and broke a leaf spring after leaving rivers end. I want to say thanks to gene over there for loaning me the tools and parts to get back on the road! Awesome service.
City: sanjoseTips: outside inside. Couldn't really get a pattern going.I know that I have to give em what they want. And put it where they are!

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got windy... so the boat was all over the place. made fishing tough. Found some protected areas outside of franks, and caught a few on cranks, and the rest on RAGE SHAD. Buzzed the bait over hydrilla clumps, and had a blast. Didn't kill them, but anyday where you catch em' on top makes a good day.
City: el cerritoTips: find moving water, key in on the weeds, and look for irregularities in the weed line. Bass are just waiting to crush your bait.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 76-82
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from July 4th to the 10th. We were on the water by 7am till dark everyday.. We caught 130 bass in 7 days from 2 to 5 lbs. We fished from the State park to Long Tule point and caught some nice ones on spooks and spinnerbaits in the weed beds there. There were actually some fish on beds back behind the weed beds in a 25 yard stretch were the water was a little clearer. One evening we hammered the fish on a drop shot on Anderson island with three doubles. Watermelon candy trick worms were the ticket. Checked back again and never found them again. We also caught lots of fish around the RedBud area on Bill Norman cranks in Clear lake craw and Chili bowl color. And had a good spinnerbait bite going around the Island at Cash Creek. From about 5-dark we actually had a really good frog bite going in shallow tules between docks around Konocti Bay, Harbor & Spa.
City: WinstonTips: Spook & Spinnerbait the weed beds around bait in the county park area. Throw Crankbaits around Rattle snake island & Rock piles from Konocti to Red Bud. Drop shot in 25-35 feet way out in front of docks. Frog in the evenings in shallow tules.

Water Temp: 76-79
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I guided a skilled angler and great guy Thursday night - trying to beat the crowd! We started a little after 7 pm out of the Oaks. Water was a little cleaner and fishing was a little better! The day bite might still be better but the night is starting to produce some quality. We still had to dodge boat traffic in the evening as we fished Senkos and topwater. The first Senko bass was almost 4 1/2 lbs (#301) - good start. Topwater was nada! We fished most of the evening in Horseshoe Bay, trying to stay out of the wind. He caught his first of several there. Henderson was fair at night - though we missed several. Biggest there was a little over 3 1/2 lbs. Worked our way back to the narrows and fished a favorite area near Anderson Island. His first or second cast there produced a nice fat bass at 4 1/2 lbs+, using a brush hog. We worked our way back to the ramp, catching a few more. We were limited in the areas we could fish because of big swells. I showed him a subtle rock pile that was hard to pinpoint in the dark of the moon. He made several casts without a bite. Sometimes these small piles are hard to find. I started casting to try to find the high spot for him - first cast a 5+ found my Kreature bait. Frustrating when that is the only active fish there! I showed him some lay of the land around Rattlesnake Island and as I was putting stuff away he got a big bite - about 10 lbs of whiskers!! Besides the cat, we had 12 in the boat - 5 biggest a hair over 20 lbs! Better quality fish!
City: Yuba CityTips: All I can say for sure is that most of the nice bass are hangin' alone. There are some nice bass to catch, but one here and one there. They are not limited yet to depth - we caught fish from 5 to 20 feet. Actually, the bigger fish were less than 10 feet. Other than the nice Senko fish, most were near deep water breaks - if that helps. At least for my trips, the topwater bite has been slow as has the frog bite. I have heard that from most anglers.

California Delta
-
Water Temp: mid 70's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started off buzzbait, in northern Delta along rocks w/tules, not much action, couple small ones. 3/4 ounce trap same type area picked a few up to 3 pounds with current on the move. Punched hydrilla rest of day and hit the horses, 8.5, 7, 5, and couple of 3.5 for 27 pounds, my best day to date in the Delta. Saw bass suspended and not in the mood to take cranks.
City: FairfieldTips: Time on the water to find good spots, moving current for reaction baits, low tide for punching.

Camp Far West Lake
-
Water Temp: 83
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Bear River Arm with my wife in the afternoon and evening. We caught a total of 8 fish, 7 Spot and 1 Largemouth. The evening bite was best. Caught all on Robo Sexy Shad 6 inch worm.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of county park at daybreak and went right over to Long Tule Point. Partner threw buzzbait & spook while I threw a popper. No takers on buzz or spook but I had 5 blowups on the popper in the hour that I fished it before the sun got kinda high and topwater bite diminished. 2.5er landed, but missed what looked close to 5---whole body came up but missed popper by a good half foot and couldn't coax 'em back. Fun little popper bite there though. Then fished various areas from State Park to Henderson. Pretty tough bite from 7:30 to 1:00. At 1, we hit Henderson for a second time and buddy got 2 decent fish (bigger 3.2), 1 on drop shot, the other on a jig. I had a couple bites at H too, but didn't get em. We had to leave at 2 so perhaps the jig/dropshot/shaky head bite was starting to pick up (all Henderson fish came in about 20 feet). Kinda hot day but not unbearable.
City: San RafaelTips: Try poppers at first light (mine's a Heddon Pop N Image junior). No hits on baby bass color so switched to white/purple shad and that's what all bites/fish came on while the topwater bite lasted. Find points like Henderson where there's deeper water and throw a jig/dropshot.

Water Temp: 79
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Nada! Out on water by 6:45am...tried dike8, peninsula points(rough/windy), south fork points/rock walls/coves and 5mph zone before sf bridge.....NADA! tried topwater, slow jerk staysee, dropshot, darthead, senko..brother tried same plus fluke...NADA. ok, must be the fishermen! saw lots of fish everywhere..suspended, bottom..also saw lots of fry and whatever. oh, one series of ticks but could tell it was small. was the only hint of a bite!!
City: folsomTips: nothing to offer.....wait for the other guy who posts catches lots of limits every time.

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 67-79
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This has been a very busy week on the water. Traditionally the week of the 4th of July is one of the busiest. I finished it with 6 trips and as it got closer to the 4th the busier it got. My clients were all fantastic and from all over the USA and as far as Masadonia. The fishing was also as spread out. We had to cover a lot of water to find bass. The key was to fish slow and deep down to 35+ feet on walls, points, and river chanels. Most of the bite came from 6am to 10 am and tapperd off from that time, however the bite did pick back up in the evening. There was also a reaction bite in the afernoon with lipless crank baits as well.
City: ParadiseTips: Gitzits tubes, Paradise Tackle Jigs, Robo worms on drop shot and shacky head hooks, senkos all were working through out the week. Colors seem to change almost daily. Fish shallow (early) to deep(later) to find feeding bass.
