      Water Temp: 55.0

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished for about six hours all over Holland tract then went back to slough in the Marina and caught three only two and half pounds best. Caught 6.6 last weekend. Used white crank baits and Ike tungsten minnows. Fished Super slow. repetitive casts to outside weed line at low tide seemed to be the ticket. Shouldn't be long now...can't wait till water temp is up two more degrees down below.
      City: Newark

      Tips: Slow down is right!

      Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 8:30 to 1:30. 2 spots all day and about 7 bites. Threw jigs, tubes, jerks, and cranks. No reaction bite at all
      City: sacramento

Tips: Both fish came on a drop shot MMII as did the vast majority of the bites. Wait for the water to stay relatively level for a couple weeks and then give it a shot. The fish are confused just like the fishermen. It's still very low though

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: With freezing temps in the morning, the Smallmouth bite was the only option. Caught three (two 4's and a 2.5) on a white spinnerbait shorefishing the river channel at the north end. The bite COMPLETELY shuts down by 10:30 at the latest.
      City: Ukiah

Tips: Slowrolling a spinnerbait along the bottom.

      Water Temp: 53-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched around 11am, fished 6 hrs. Started out in Little Portuguese, nuttin'. Moved to main body, was blowing like hell for first hour or so, had to find areas inside coves for a while to even feel the bait; wind died down, moved back out to main points- nailed 7 total. Best 5 went about 12 lbs. Mixed bag, spots, smallies and a couple largemouths. Most came on plastic in 15 -25 ft of water. Two came on a jerkbait, including a big crappie that went 2 1/2 lbs! All in all not a bad day....
      City: vacaville

Tips: Slow presentation seemed to be best, until the sun got low in the sky, then the reaction bite started to come on.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: What can a 27 degree morning at Clear Lake do for you - not much!! I notice we were the first to launch at the Oaks - smart people slept in! Actually it didn't matter as I was helping a client learn off-shore structure and new areas. We had a great time once we thawed out! We ran to several spots for our 5 hr trip - looking, metering, and doing some fishing. The bite was very slow in the morning which was no surprise. He did catch two nice bass and I got one about 3 1/2 lbs. Several bass would pick up our baits - bite the tails, and stuff like that. Maybe the afternoon was better - it usually is after a morning chill like that. All our fish and hits were on jigs in water over 10 feet deep.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The bite will certainly improve when this very cold March weather moves out. The jig bite remains pretty good. I did try spinnerbaits but got no action. We basically fished rock piles and rock flats - some around dock pilings. BRRRR!

Report: hey all, had a question for you. At what level do you think Dark Canyon will be useable to launch a 14' trailerd boat? Thanks for any info. I want to take my kid out fishn' in the next couple of weeks.

      Water Temp: 53 to 55.6

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Calero has turned on. Found fish shallow... in 2 to 4 feet of water. 6in wacky senkos was the go to bait. All in grass. Rocks produced nuttn. Caught prolly 15 fish all over 2 lbs. Our biggest landed were two 4+ lbrs. Had two 6+ jump and spit the hook.
      City: gilroy

Tips: Find the warmer water and grass and make long casts. Found only 1 spot with water over 55 deg and that was where the bite was on. Hint... you couldn't cast to it from the bank if you tried. Follow the channels

      Water Temp: 53.5

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Ditto Ditto Fished B&W Area hooked one fish in Fished about 4.5 hours. It was a nice day too bad the fish did not cooperate. Like the others, I threw it all at them Spinner Baits, Crank Baits, Senkos, Rip Baits, Tube Baits, and Jigs. I agree, I think the water has to warm up. Next time, I'm headed to the lakes, Folsom or Berryessa.
      City: W.SAC

Tips: Look for warmer water like a lake lol.

Report: I have a Lab I take walking there. Was attacked by 2 pitbull looking dogs. Guy hopped in his JEEP and took off. Had to have my dog stitched up. The park did nothing. I found the guy and they still did nothing. I told them I will defend my dog from now on.
The rules states no dogs on the beach or water. They do little to enforce.
But quick to take the fees.

      Water Temp: 50-52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: It is hard to fill in the water clarity box above because of the variety of water colors today - muddy in Putah Creek to somewhat clear near the dam. I helped a fellow learn some new areas to fish today - so we covered most of the lake!! I didn't expect what fishing we did to be very good, but was a little better than I hoped. We did find 2 areas that held quite a few and, in fact, had a double smallie hookup. His was nice - about 2 3/4 lbs. Mine, 1 3/4 if I was lucky! My first bass was a nice largemouth - near 3 lbs. He caught 5 and I boated 4, and we did miss a lot of fish. Our 5 best was a respectable 12 1/2 lbs - so, not bad for 6 1/2 hours. I can't say any more because he is fishing an upcoming tournament. It was a cloudy, cool, post-front day - but maybe the last one for a few days - warmer weather ahead!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: I really enjoy these "teach the lake" trips because Berryessa has such great on and off shore structure! After fishing the lake myself for over 40 years, I still learn something every trip - especially when the water is this low. Beware of the submerged weeds - they are everywhere because of the warmer fall and few cloudy days. Because of the rising water level, some of these weeds are 15-20 feet deep. Makes working a bait like a jig kinda tough. I should mention I did have a good hit on my 8" Huddleston trout, but naturally, missed it!!

      Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Hi everyone. This is my first report posted on here... and a late one at that. Launched out of B&W to 1ft visibility and a falling tide. Fished Sycamore slough and Hawg for nothing early. buddy lost a 2lber+ on a speed trap in sycamore. Ran to whites for nothing but more muddy water. ran back to sycamore for 1 fish in the boat. came on a chatruese 5" tex-rigged senko.
      City: Reno, NV

Tips: Probably different now since this report was late. But the fish I caught was while I was dead sticking the senko trying to untangle a mess. slow.

      Water Temp: 56 to 59

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Out of River's End going south on Old River to Lammers Rd. Used TNT wadda jigs, Senkos, Chatterbait, & some jerkbaits. Only one small bass at 5 to 10 ft of water. 9am to 3pm.
      City: San Jose

Tips: With warming waters, keep trying. Better fishing very soon.

      Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: got a late start (didnt wake up when the clock rang at 530)...got on the water around 10am. fished lower franks (really high tide) and unfortunately no takers. Saw alot of bass boats in the area, just working each spot really slow...so i figured this area was a lost cause since everyone has "touched" this area. went east of franks, fished speed traps...caught 7 lb striper, and another shaker few casts later. switched colors (red craw to chartreuse) and landed two keeper LMB. I was hoping for a better reaction bite since the weather was nice out...but the water is still a little cold and muddy. So I switched up, and flipped a jig the rest of the day. caught one about 3.5 lbs near mildred. another shook the hook at the boat. Got those two bites right as the tide turned fishing isolated tule clumps. i wished for a better day, but still had fun catching the fish that i did. great weather...so atleast i got a chance to get out of the house.
      City: el sobrante

Tips: fish SLOW.... black and blue jigs i think. but if the blacks aren't biting go for stripers!!!

      Water Temp: 52-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out from Ladd's around noon.Fished around mildred Island for about 4 hours.Saw quite a few Bass boats and a hundred sailboats but other than that it was not too crowded.Tryed to locate fish in deep water near flats but had a tough time.Caught one shaker striper and missed a good strike that had to have been a pre-spawn female largemouth.Well since I never saw it I guess it could have been something else.I tryed to get another strike with several follow up baits, but one chance is all I was given. That is not the first time that has happened.Oh well!! It was still nice to get out.Weather was very nice.
      City: Manteca

Tips: The water is still a little cold but with some steady warm weather they should be coming up.Good time to test out the boat, gear etc.
