Report: CBL- Christain Bass League had it first inagural bass tourney today. 12 teams fished, two with kids under 16. It looked like the fog would be gone by blast off, but thank God for a GPS. I was half way to Rogers when I wanted to go to Big Creek. The sun finally came out and it was a great day. Most of the field caught fish off the bank dragin a worm, drop shot, shakey head or the likes. My son caught the only keeper in our boat throwing a white rip bait. The Big fish was caught by Clayton, who is 14. The fish was 3.15#. Only one limit for 5+ #s. Our next tourney is on McClure. David 209-988-5818

Tips: Fish slow and throw the plastics mostly on steep sloaping points. Keep it on the bottom. Trout are fun to catch but don't help our sack.

Report: Trolling up the McCloud Arm @ 3-4 mph. No luck with the Megabait minnow or Cripplelure. The Brass Kastmaster never fails, but a Krocodile Spoon Wobbler seemed to be the ticket, netting 7 good size salmon in a few hours.

Report: Had to go out and try this Sprung Leak one more time with the great weather. Got on the lake by 7am and forgot how cold it was, 32 outside.

Threw everything I had at them and they just won't bite. I need to take my own advice, wait until more rain but until then this lake is dead.

Wonder if the DFG will stock this lake now that they are not stocking others lakes??? It would really help this lake. Write the DFG if you care!!!

      Water Temp: 43-45

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Did a little trout fishing the other day and noticed a bass boat on the water in this cold weather still. I stopped and asked how he was doing and he said he had one fish with several bites on a texas rigged plastic bait, looked like a crawfish pattern of some sort. Larry if your out there, I'm an avid delta rat but lakes are not my specialty. I see all kinds of trees and stickups where the bass may be hiding but I was wondering if you had any tips for me. I plan on heading to the lake Wednesday the 7th of January. I also noticed a coulple of islands now that the water levels are so low. Pretty cool to see where the bass are hiding when the water is at normal capacity. Any help for my first amador winter bass trip would be great! Thanks and happy new year to all!
      City: manteca

Tips: The TV fishing shows have started their 09' season so if the fish aren't biting, stay warm and learn some tips from the real pro's!

      Water Temp: 45

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: This time of the year is cold, but using Jumbo Minnows from Limited-Out Bait& Tackle is the best bait. Hook it on a small cycle hook and a #4 split shot and just drag it over rock piles in the South end of the lake will get you 25 of the largest bass for the winter. Most of ours were 3-5 lbs. The Junior Bass Club and I stayed in the water all day just catching fish after fish. See Bob at Limited Out for these Great Minnows and have fun.
      City: Rocklin

Tips: Drag very slow and stay on the rocks.

<p>Next weekend 10,11 Jan is the last time the Lake will be open to vessels until April.
