Report: Why doesn't anyone report on this lake any more? I dont have much to report but I can say I was up there a few weeks ago and the launch at minersville was just fine. Lake is very low 99.9% tailing piles are out of the water. Good time to go find thoses isolated rock piles that you always see guys fishing but can never actualy find when they leave :) Got there early fished in the pouring rain and 10-20mph winds. Lots of muddy water comming in. Had a 5, 4, 3, and 2.something in the boat in the first 1/2 hr. all largemouth on swimbaits. they were in about 6-10 feet of water and vevy pale like they had just moved up out of deeper water. That first 1/2 hr had me pretty excited but that was about it for me. My partner caught a bunch more than me drop shottin' and lipless cranks but not much size.
      City: Mckinleyville

Tips: Get out there and fish pray for rain.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished against my buddy A.K.A "Come Back Kid" All I needed to do is win today and I would have won our best of seven series. I didn't, he waxed me. C.B.K. stuck with a top water pattern all day which rewarded him with over 7 pounds for 4 fish. He fished the Narrows with a Super Spook. He told me not to give out the color. He said he tried other lures but got 0 bites. I tried a trout colored Super Spook, 0 takers. I saw bait balls but could not get them to bite. I couldn't get bit in the lower end on anything, so I took off for Putah Creek. After wading through about 10 dinks I managed to catch two keeper fish dragging a reaper with the current. All in all it was a beautiful day on the lake only saw 2 other bass boats.
      City: W. Sac

Tips: The Super Spook can be deadly especially on cloudy days. Once the lake turns I'll be back. Hey Sid, I checked out your fishing website, how do you know so many famous people?

Worked mostly White and dissapointment slough with worms, cranks, jigs, swimbaits and spinnerbaits. all baits fished extremely slow but no bites. I know if tough this time of year but I always struggle this time of year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I was going to run to franks but wanted to try new water.

Report: Look for stripers in Disco Bay today, found only 1 small keeper and two barely legal LM. Also tried near the holland riverside marina. not a single bite. Are the stripers still close to the main channels?
      City: San Ramon

Tips: Yeah, I need some. TIA.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Bite is still tough. Got out right at daybreak on Sunday and was greeted with howling winds and 3-4' rollers in the main lake. I caught a fat 4lber shortly after daybreak on a LC BDS crankbait. That was it for several hours until I caught 2 more small ones on a flick shake worm. I did see a few crappie caught at Kono Tayee. Overall it was a slow day jam packed with wind.

Report: Bank fishing... I got there at 8:00 am and didnt' get bit until after 10:00. By 12:30 I got 5 keepers, with the biggest going 4 lbs, on a c-rigged red Zipper worm.
      City: Mountain View

Tips: Go to the points and cast out as far as possible and spool line off the reel as the rig sinks to make sure it gets out in the deeper water. All fish were caught in water deeper than 20'.

      Water Temp: ????

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of B&W 6:30 am, straight to franks, wife picked up a nice 8# striper (see photos) on a Vixen baby bass spook with a special chartruese and white feather treble hook added on. Lots of slaps and blow ups, missed alot of hook ups, I was pretty sure they all were stripers. It got slow for a few hours, went back to bass fishing for a while and hooked up with a real nice 8.9#er (see photos) on a senko on one of the last casts of the day, made for a nice day on the delta.

Tips: 7 inch watermelon senko on a 4/0 finnesse hook, 14# vanish, deep in the tules @ begining of outgoing. Striper was on a vixen, 50# braid, close to the submerged weedline (5 or 6 ft away from tules) @ start of incoming. Most of our fish came @ north part of franks. Good luck.

Report: Launched out of Paradise. Cloudy, no wind and a bottomed tide. If you launch there on low tide, take your time as the ramp is slick. Fished outside weedlines on 10 foot ledges with purple/blue senko for a limit of clone 1 3/4lb bass. All pressure bites. Had a jig on standby but didn't throw it.
      City: Manteca

Tips: All bites were pressure bites so watch your line. I had no gut hooked fish, all were released unharmed. The outside weedline structure on deep(er) ledges was key.

Report: Water is pretty clear still which is one of the reason I think the bite can be tough for some and that includes me and my brother:( We had no problem getting bites for 4 days but they were all dinks, got 5 keepers in 4 days but caught at least 25 fish each day, we had about 4.11 lbs on Sat and 2-3 lbs on Sun, I did not get one fish on anything but drop shotting, I cranked, ripped, jigged, swim bait (all sizes) Now back to the statement "for some people" there was a future pro tourney going on, first place had 23 lbs on Sat and 16 lbs on Sun, they tried everything and than down sized there crank baits to 2 inchers and that was the ticket, a reaction bite which I tried but I did not down size my crank bait:( Goes to show you there is "Almost" always a pattern to get them to go.

      Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Well, Larry was right on the previous post. The fishing was better on Sat. Hit 35-40 bass up to 4'15. Total junk fishing day. Caught em on spooks, rip, jig and drop shot. The 4'15 was a beautiful l-mouth that inhaled the rip bait. Had a 2 pound spot on the spook and had a trout that was at least 10 pounds fly right over the top of the spook. That thing was huge! Wish it would have hooked up. Don't know what it is about those collins lake trout and topwater baits. It's the only lake I ever catch top water trout on bass tackle. Overall, the jig and d-shot ruled the day. The fish were deep and have never seemed to come up this fall.
      City: Roseville

Tips: It drizzled on me a little Sat, but for the most it was a nice day. I was suprised the reaction bite wasn't a little better, but it was good enough to spank em on the jig and d-shot.

      Water Temp: 62-63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Missed a cloudy day by one day - fishing would have been better today (Sat - cloudy). I took a grandpa/grandson team today for a 6 hour trip and found fishing slow because of bright skies, calm wind, and high barometer. Bait balls were suspended and scattered. We spooned several and caught one or two on 4" Power worms. The big event was the 10 year old hooking and landing his first spoon bass - a nice spot at 1 3/4 lbs! He did that after 5 minutes of spoonin' on his own!! I thought the late afternoon bite would turn on, but it didn't. I tried some topwater to see if they could try that technique but only had one taker. Fall fishing is hit and miss and I guess we were in the middle with 7 bass total and several missed.
      City: Yuba city

Tips: The staff at Collins Lake again has done an excellent job of maintaining their low water launch at the dam. No problem launching a 20 foot Ranger bass boat! And the walk up the hill to get your truck isn't as bad as other lakes!! I thought the jig bite might work but no takers. You just can't beat a Duh! spoon in the black shad color. I use the 1 3/4 oz size but a smaller one will work too.

Report: Up river to five mile an hour bouys, nice blacks. Cold front came in early, shut it down.
      City: Sac

Tips: When cold front appears early in morning, go home and sit by fire.

      Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: my buddy Dan and I worked our fannies off all day just to get 6 fish in the boat.
3 came on buzzbaits,a couple on cranks.
most of those came as soon as the skies opened up and dumped on us at dusk.
They have lowered the lake 2.5 feet and the weeds are right on top as a result.
Alot of fish were striking about 2 feet away from the buzzbaits.

Tips: we talked to a real nice gentleman that said he was getting them a little deeper on jigs and senkos.
Maybe thats the ticket, cuz we werent doing very well doing what usually does us well.
