      Water Temp: warmer

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started Jack's Shack caught a two pound spot, then a three plus smallie, two more bites, wasn't paying attention, talking to someone. Later on no boates so I quickly moved up river past underwater bridge to "lovers leap"(rock ledge dropping straight down into main channel, one of my secret holes). Fish were stacked up awaiting water to rise for bedding. Immediately I caught a five pound plus black and on the very next cast was a clone, fished another ten minutes still could not hear any boats coming up the lake and whammo, another fiver(all blacks), then about three casts later I caught a four plus smallie. Total was over twenty one pounds. Dumped them and headed out to Jack's again to sit it out and get a bite to eat. Could have thrown swim baits like R.Graves but I've done that many times and have been very sucessful at it, however I take a different light to it now.

Tips: Take time to understand what time of year it is and like I have said before , "they are moving up" Check out structures close to bedding areas, that is where they will stage, crawdads are the favorite meal right now. Eight pound test is what I recommend. Jigs caught all my bass today, 1/4 oz, brown, open hook.

      Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished for most of the day. Caught a lot throughout the day. Fish seemed to be located on rocky points between 10' to 35'. Also caught a few off of trees. All were pretty much around 1lb with a 5lb 12oz LM mixed in. Caught 5 smallies also. Plastics were the ticket. Green worked the best, but other colors worked. We drop shotted, carolina rigged and the shakey head worm all seemed to work.

      Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: partner dan, and I killed them today. Dan Nailed a #7 on his second cast with a chatterbait, and then continued to knock the snotbubbles out of them for the next half an hour, he couldn't do any wrong with that damedable bait. No matter where he thru it, there was a big bass waiting for it. The smallest fish of the day went about #2, and there was only one of those. The bite cooled down after the early a.m., but picked up where it left off about 11.00 this time it was my turn, and I got them all, (cept) 1 on the same lookin chatterbait.
Only other fish came on a superfluke. Total for Dan 11 bass, for me 8, but I would love to get out fished like that any day of the week. all in all we had a #28 5 fish limit

      Water Temp: 54-57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got out on the water about 7:45 this morning. Wind was kicking ass from several directions pushing my little Nitro all over. Managed to get 2 on tubes on the first 2 points on the right side entering Santa Felicia. Got tired of running the trolling motor constantly to keep the boat straight. Decided to drag Normans around the shoreline instead of fighting the wind and found 4 more on the east side by the entrance to the narrows. All fish were about 1.5lbs nothing big. Very suprising that there was not alot more "Lake Lice" with the hot temps. It wasn't a bad day but not as great as it has been.

      Water Temp: 54-58.9

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Clarity about 2 feet. Water temp: most places in mid-to-upper 58s, some places in the mid 54s. Fished from 6:15 pm till 2:30 am. No moon until 1 am and it was too low to make a big difference. All fish but one was on jig, other was senko. Two fish before dark (jigs) and about 8 or so after dark. No bites on anything else. A few fish were shallow but most were about 12'-18' (that we caught). Many metered fish out deeper in 18'-50' with no takers. Overall, quite slow but what do you expect for a no-moon night and cold temps and fog banks floating by? Day jig was Hemphill special with shortened 5" Yammy craw and night jig was Vypr black/chartreuse with 5" #180 Yammy grub. Smelly Jelly seemed to help. Caught fish about 1/2 way back in coves and main body but all but one were near points.

Tips: Watch out for the debris near the launch ramp when loading your boat - tons of it. Tip: partially pull on and off your trailer 3 or 4 times before trying to put it on trailer. If you hear squeaking, it means there is wood stuck between your hull and your trailer bunks and you should reload. After you pull trailer out of water, visually inspect to see if any large wood is stuck between bunks ahd hull. If so, relaunch and reload.

After about 20 fish we went to the north side and only got fish here and there mostly on the jig some on a shaky head in 5ft of water using a purple ghost 4" worm. Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Took my dad and his golf buddy out for a lesson in bass fishing. Lots of fish caught with the drop-shot and tubes. Fish are between 20 to 2 feet. In the afternoon the fish were up shallow - lots of fun sight fishing...even more fun for 2 rookies. We ended the day with about 25-30 bass up to 4lbs. Saw some really big bruisers but could not get them to bite.
      City: Fairfield

Tips: The fish are in full prespawn right now. Get your best polarized glasses and head to the lake.

      Water Temp: 55-58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started out in Rock Creek and found the water color more stained than other areas but managed a couple small bass and then moved to main lake where we got on some nice shallow banks and worked a chatterbait and tube with great success. Fish were caught on virtually anything we threw, blades, jig, dropshot, tube, crankbait and ripbait. Lake is really starting to open up and with another week and more clearing, CFW will be on fire! Headed back out in the morning as I can't get enough of a good thing.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Dropshot in 17-20' with Aaron's Magic and they seemed to like any color chatterbait and the 2 I had broken off were 1/2 oz white/chartruese. Jig fish were on brown/orange with Yamamoto #180 grub. Just throw it.........they'll eat it.

      Water Temp: 46

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Made it up to the lake for a few hrs today to see if my predictions would come true. Looks like things are right on track. A 5 deg increase in water temp has prompted the fish to start back toward the bank. I caught a 6.69 LM and a smallie almost 5 plus a few other good fish. They were in 20-30' and pretty agressive, Can't wait for the tournament on Sat.
      City: Weaverville

Tips: I was fishing pretty slow but the bites were hard. I caught a 3lb LM on a gitzit about 5' from the boat during a rapid retrieve. This opens up a whole bunch of possibilities.

      Water Temp: 54-58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I met my client about 6 pm for a 6 hr night trip. We started in the main body, nothing - so tried some areas in Jackon Creek. Bingo! I missed one and my trusty client set into a nice one, using a black/red brush hog. She went 4 lbs 10 oz. He then lost one that shot out of the water upon being hooked. I missed another, so 1 for 4 before dark. After a sandwich, back at it. We fished one of my favorite spots in Rock Creek and it is now HIS favorite spot!! When he grunts I know that is a good sign! I got to net a 7 1/2 pounder, again, taken on his brush hog. He caught 2 more and I caught one also - a nice limit of 17 pounds or so. I went out this morning for about 3 1/2 hours and also caught a 7 pounder along with a 3 3/4, 3, and a near 2. the big one nailed a purple Weapon jig with a #157 Yamamoto grub trailer and the other hit a brown/orange jig.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Water has good color but is fishable. Reaction bite may be a few days off. Bulky baits like brush and Power hogs are good this time of year. He also caught one on a 10" Power worm. The bass were very shallow before dark but were deeper after dark. Not any bass in coves yet, at least today!
