Report: Caught 5 LM bass to 2 lbs on a cloudy, windy, and cold day. Hooked all the bass on the bottom at 15 feet on a carolina rig with nightcrawlers. No other lures worked -- spinners, crankbait, or plastic worms.
      City: San Leandro

      Tips: Nightcrawlers at Alder Point.

Report: Super windy with a constant cloud cover. No luck at all from 9-2. After talking to some guys on a boat that were trolling all day RIGHT after they caught a good size trout I asked them what the fish were hitting and they said go for red and brown lures. With renewed enthusiasm, I threw on a bright red rappala jointed shad, and then cast&reeled about 20 times before BAM I had a good size fish hit. I set the hook hard and fast, at about 40 ft. and reeled her in. Great fighter and weighed in at 4 and some change, over 19" long. All in all a great day! And no, I wont tell you where I was!

Report: Had a # 14 limit today. Most were fooled by a chrome smithwick along the edge of the stained water in the coves, but we probably caught just as many on watermelon colored plastics. (gitzits, shakeyhead grubs, and senkos)
      City: desert hot springs

Tips: throw your stickbaits thru the stickups, then burn em up to it, and stop.... then wait

      Water Temp: 67-69

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Yesterday (10-5-06), VERY SLOOOOOWWWWW!!!!! With the weather that moved in you would have thought some fish would be up shallow eating reaction baits. ONE spinnerbait fish to report for 3 hours of throwing rips, blades & cranks. A few very small fish on a dropshot up north in the narrows and that was it for the day.

Today (10-6-06), no reaction although there was a perfect wind from the south creating some awesome mudlines, yet no fish. Moved to an area that I haven't fished in a few weeks and found a PILE of fish in 45-50 ft. on a darthead. Limited in about 45 minutes that included a 4 1/2 lb. Largemouth. Fish and bait in this area and they will stay for alongtime.
      City: Roseville

Tips: I guess I just need to get deep and stay there. Fished from 25-30 and didn't see much activity, once I moved out to the 40-50 ft. range I saw the bait and fish and just worked the school with a dartheaded Roboworm.

      Water Temp: 69

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: No production all day. Got on in my boat at 10 and off at 2:30 with only one nibble. I tried every bait in my bag so it definately dropped my confidence level down a notch on all of them. Water has NASTY moss growing on it, no water visibility at all. First time i boated the lake and seems to look like a nice lake. This is also a very shallow lake. I probably spotted 30 fish total on my fish finder for the whole day. Very frusterating, but ya gotta keep you hook wet to catch em.

      Tips: You tell me....

      Water Temp: 65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Paradise Point with my brother Jerry around 6:30am and 5th cast I had a blow-up on a white buzzbait and boated a 5lb largemouth. Fished in and out of Dissapointment Slough throwing buzzbaits and my brother nailed a 31/2 lber on in the weeds. We threw buzzbaits for most of the day cathing 2 and 3 pound fish. When the sun came out later in the day we got some smaller fish on cranks and lizards..Add a couple of Stripers in the mix and it turned out to be a real nice 35 fish day. Sure beats being a work!!
      City: Lockeford

Tips: When we had thick overcast and even a little drizzle of rain, the fished seemed to really want the top water stuff. Most fish came inside the sloughs..

      Water Temp: 61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Pirates Lair at 7:00 am. When through Potato and my way to White Slough. In Potato, I had two blowups on a white buzzbait, but they were short strikes and I missed them both. The cold front that passed through made the bass go deeper, so they were hard to locate. I did manage a 2.5 lber in White Slough in 15 feet of water on a Berkeley Gulp turtle back worm on a jig head. The crankbait bait along the rocks was cold. Buzzbaits and plastic worms were the only things working for me.

Report: Went up to prefish for up coming club tournament..Started on submerged humps near dam..there were several boats with the same idea..Caught a lot of 1.5 and 2lb lb fish in 5-10 feet of water...caught one 4lber..moved to the east side on steeper banks and started throwing jigs..that was the ticket...stuck one 8.25lb then a 4lber and next was a 10plus lber that went off my board..went over to another boat and asked to borrow a longer board..she was 24 1/2 inches long and had a 18 1/4 inch girth...hard as a rock..Jigs were the bait of choice for me and a NetBait PumpkinCraw Trailer..worms caught little fish. I think I will use the jig for the tournament...Yes I put them back...I wouldn't kill fish like those..
      City: Madera

Tips: Dead sticking the jig I think was the trick..same as the worm..if you moved it much you just caught smaller fish..

Report: On the water around 0930,cought 2 shakers in the fist hour. One was cought on a green worm the other on a spinner bait. 1045 landed a 4 to 5 pounder then a 3 to 4 pounder right behind it. The two big ones where cought on a blueflake worm.
      City: Mather

Tips: The big fish bite soft. Hard to tell if its grass or fish, so set the hook every time you feel resistance.

Report: the fishing for me has been tough but at least the takers are good size for anderson. because of the upcoming tournament this weekend i will not give baits and locations; however, i can say that the good fish are coming from 28-45 feet of water.
      City: san jose

Tips: find deep water structure and fish it all day. bites are sporadic but the fish that eventually bite are pretty big.

Report: I guided a nice fellow yesterday at Pardee whois getting back into fishing after a few years off. He wanted to learn the lake better and the learning was good but the fishing was not - in fact, very slow. I really was surprised since it was a mostly cloudy day. Bass fishing, however, is full of surprises! We caught 5 largemouth and the biggest wasn't even 2 lbs - wow! We saw suspended bass everywhere and I suspect the fish I saw on the meter, laying on the bottom, were probably catfish. Drop-shotting and split-shotting worms caught our 5 bass. I threw topwater forever - not a sniff!! Only 2 other bass boats on the lake and one of the guys in one of the boats said they struggled too. So, there is always next time - before Oct 29 when the lake closes for the winter!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Sorry - fresh out of tips! Maybe some cooler weather will get the fish most active for topwater or ripbaits. I plan to go back for most punishment before they close!!!

Report: I have been jogging around the lake recently (trying to lose some excess pounds) and have been noticing alot of huge dead stripers along the shore. Anyone know what's killing these awsome big fish. I saw one that would have gone over 30 pounds floating dead.
      City: antioch

Tips: Throw a swimbait. Seeing alot of huge blackbass cruising the shoreline looking for bluegill or trout.

      Water Temp: 68-70

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Not alot of bites the last two days, clear water and falling lake levels combined with the Spotted bass still offshore chasing trout & Salmon have things in flux right now. No topwater the last week, no rip, no blade and 1 crank fish. 3 dropshot, 2 darthead and 2 split shot fish in the last week. All of this tells me that the annual transition period has begun and the fish are a real negative for the next few days to a week. Incoming storm slated for Thursday should move the lake closer to flipping in upper parts of the lake, but the fish on the main body remain deep (40-60 ft.) Be out again on Thursday in the rain to see if they like foul weather anymore.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Move, move, and keep moving until you find them. Fish are real mobile right now and you have to be fluid in your decisions to include run-n-gunnin' Good luck.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I took a father and 7 year old son for a 6 hr trip - trying to start another bass pro at an early age! One of the first bass in the boat was almost 15 inches and I thought we were in for some quality spots. Not so! Lots of 8 to 13 inch spots with the young man reeling most of them in! They feel great on my 782 Loomis rod!! We toured the middle fork and found the further up we went the smaller the bass were. That was just our boat of course. Before we quit, we fished the same area we started and caught a few more better fish - should have stayed there longer! Great time for all - about 18 to 20 spots in the boat!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Drop-shotting and split-shotting Basstrix minnows and worms gave us pretty good action. Most fish were on steeper banks at about 25 feet. Sun or shade didn't seem to matter. Steeper drop-offs next to a flat were the best structure.

Report: After reading Kelly's report, he seems to have gotten on the bite. I reported my daughter caught the DS fish, but the big wide open bite has been the spoon since the first of September. Sunday was a wierd day of unexpected weather that put the fish off. The four of us, two boats, caught lots of 10"-15" fish with nothing over 2 pounds. the smallies also seemed tobe more put off by the weather than the LM. Anyway spoon fishing has been the e-ticket. I have now caught fish for 25' to 60' on most any edge or point. If you have a good graph, don't fish it if you can't see em!!!!

Report: Lauched at Sugar Barge last Sunday but, did not go out (at least not right away). I got lazy when I saw the weather so me and my wife just fished for bluegills and crappie. We were just sitting on the dock most of the time. Just before sunset, my wife to my truck (she's cold), the weather calmed down like you can not believe so I fished inside the wall for about 45 min. Got 5 shakers and a 2-lber on a red crank bait with crawdad pattern. A 5-lber and a couple of a 2-lber was caught on a silver/blue popper. I can't believe you can actually catch that many fish inside that wall in so little time. Kept a 2-lber for a sandwich. Thanks for your previous tips...finally learned how to fish the Delta!!!
      City: Bakersfield

Tips: Use shallow diver in red/crawdad patter and poppers.
