      Water Temp: 46.9- 52.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished today with James Nevels of Discovery Bay. Decided to test a few new winter time spots in the middle portion of the Delta today. We found a little warmer water in a few of these areas. The fish seemed to be shallower in areas where the temps were above 50. Caught 12 or so keepers today and one dink. Our two bigger fish today, a 6 lb 11oz and a 5 lb 7 oz, both came out of less than 6 foot of water, tight to cover. But deep water was right there close by. Most all of our other fish came out of about 10-12 feet. Jigs on the open rocks and Zippers in the grass worked once again for us. It was an absolute gorgeous day early, then go brisk and cloudy(slowest point or us) then cleared later. We only fished in three basic areas today in the middle Delta, mostly just off the San Jaquine River. Fish were once again grouped or onesey twosies along small stretches of bank.
      City: Oakley

Tips: Keep yer trolling motor in the water, on as low as ya can stand, cover long stretches of bank and try to stay off the top of the fish. All day long, I was pointing out other bass boats to James fishing down different banks, every single one of em was right on top of the fish we wuz catching. It's a common mistake made at this time of year on the river.

      Water Temp: 46-49

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Client for today canceled and I decided ta venture out in the storm alone. Rare the ole Coochster gits ta go out and just play fish by his self. Fish wer biten real good today with 14 keepers to 7 lb 9 oz topping the scale for the biggest. Had three other fish over 6.5 pounds as well. All the fish today came off rocky, grass banks with wood in about 6-8 foot. Two of the 6 pounders were right on the bank in about 3 foot and KERTHUNKED that jig as it was falling. I also caught three really nice 3-4 pound fish slow rolling a White Tandem Colorado/Willow blade, with a Chartruese Yamamoto grub. No crankbait or zipper fish today. Purty excellent day considerin I only fished from 10:00a-2:0pm.
      City: Oakley

Tips: Be happy and excited when ya git up in the morning and the weather is bad. SUre fire sign fishin on the river is gonna be good right nw versus them blue bird days. Still have to fish slow and methodical. Stay off the bank and fish yer baits all the way to the boat. With the exception of three shallow fish today, all my fish are still coming 15-20 feet off the banks.

      Water Temp: 51.5

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Mother Lode Bass Anglers launched 14 anglers on 7 boats from South Barretts ramp on a drizzly Saturday morning for our first event of the year. Water temp held fairly steady during the day, highest we saw was 52.3 and lowest was 50.9. During the week the weather soothsayers looked into their crystal balls and anxiously wrung their hands while forecasting "big weather" but it was not to be, the day ended fairly nice with steady cloud cover thruout the day and some light winds (0-5), barometric pressure was ~30.93. Rain tapered off by 8:30. Rain gear was off by 9:30am.

While past reports of deeper bass holding in 30-45' seemed to be confirmed on the finder as we motored around, we caught most in 5-15' while casting to the bank and pulling it back. Limits were caught on green pumpkin colored jigs, green pumpkin spider grubs, clear bottomed/purple topped black flake drop shot worms. Black/blue jig was unproductive. I had more bites in the warmer water. Coves, humps, and western banks were the better producing areas. Lots of activity in the first hour, we thought that we'd be culling by 9 but then it really slowed down and you had to work for hits, I put 6 in the boat during the day with my last keeper at 3:30, my boater put 10 in. Eventual winner had a limit by 9am and put over 20 fish in the boat during the day on deadsticking a green pumpkin senko.

Fish caught: Almost all spots and hybrids with 2-3 smaller largemouths in the mix. Big fish was 3.7 and the winning bag came in at 13.5, 2nd had 11.4, 3rd came in 10.75, 4th with 10.25.
      City: Sonora, CA

Tips: winter color patterns, once you find them stay on them till they turn off, we had good success higher up and closer to the shore than we'd expected. no one reported any sort of reaction bite

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Two different trips on the bank and three fish for a total of 5 hours of fishing. All the fish were from 2.4-3.0 pounds. One on a junebug brushhog texas rigged, and two on jigs with brown and purple mix. One fish was staging off of some wood right on the bank and I pitched to the point of the wood and it hit after a few shakes. saw some guys float tube and they were catching a few. No pressure on this lake right now sow get there and spend a few hours up the bank, you'll catch one.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Find a spot on the shore and make multiple cast to structure or places you think will hold bass(steep walls, gradual sloping mud banks with a point near by) Use crawfish imitators and even give a go with a crankbait. Float tubin=stay in the middle of the lake and cas t towards shore and bring it all the way out. Slow, if they aren't hittn'slow, don't be scared to speed it up. good luck. come back to this lake in the spring and try with rat-l-traps, if it's anything like chesbro, you'll get em'.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Same thing as friday for me. Not much on reaction, 1 on a blade and it was the smallest fish of the day. Caught 10 others on dartheads with shad pattern worms. These worm fish were all in 5-15 feet and hitting pretty aggresively. I fished the north end on flatter banks with little or no rocks. The bites were all spread out pretty evenly throughout the day, so just keep shakin'.

Tips: I was throwing a curly tailed worm in a shad color, but i dipped the tip orange. Who knows if it heiped, but it certainly didn't hurt anything.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tried to go up north fork but the debree pile is all the way to the slot junction. Lots of logs, the debree went from shore to shore so we went back to the slot area.
The wind came up around nine and the fish stacked in 15' of water off shallow points. The bite was hot and heavy till the wind stopped. We used jigs and drop shotted.
We crank fished in the morning for an hour, very slow then the hot bite for two hours, then our bite stopped. Off the water by 1:30.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Fish slow, our bites were very soft had quite a few flip the hook.
