    • Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Got out on the water expecting it to be a good day. Warm weather, water over 60, 5-10 mph wind but typical Delta humbling experience. We fished on incoming tide 7am-1pm in Middle River. Water was 1 ft vis at best. Threw everything. We managed 3 keeper fish. Biggest going 2lbs on rip baits (bluegill) and rattle traps ( blue/chartreuse). Had a few blow ups on top water, but they really weren't committed. Didn't see any nest or fish shallow (except carp). My buddy did manage to land a 10lb striper on his fly rod, so it wasn't all for none.

    • Report: Anthony Avila and Carlos Avila caught these rainbows using mini jigs off shore. Biggest was 11.15 lbs!

Launched out of Russo's at 7:15. Fished inside flooded islands all day, south facing banks. Water started out at 57 degrees and was in the low to mid 60 by the end of the day. Water was stained, 1-2' visibility pretty much everywhere. If they were spawning I couldn't see 'em.

Caught 7 fish. Drop shot, jig and chatterbait, off hard tule clumps and in sparse tules, couple off stick ups. How did everyone else do?

    • Water Temp: 60-65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: It is amazing that sometimes the most beautiful spring day can bring a slower bite. I have heard a lot of bass anglers talk about that. Instead, stormy days can be great! After talking to a few guys taking their boats out yesterday at Markley Cove, they thought the bite had slowed a little from last week. It was kind of hard for me to tell since I was working with a client on his first-ever bass trip. He decided he wanted to get into bass fishing, and was a good student - even took notes!! I wish the bass were a little more active, He had several hits, but was slow on the hookset. He did finally catch a nice smallie - so he is on his way! I caught a several smallies and spots, showing him different techniques we use, but couldn't break 2 1/2 lbs. A couple of other guys told me the same thing - no quality bass. We worked up to near Pope creek, only finding one willing bass in most areas. Most of our bass were still on points - the crank bass was the only one in the back of a cove. Three different colors of Robo worms seemed to work best for us, though I did get one the of bigger ones on the crankbait This being Easter vacation week, the parking lot was full - lots of rigs!! The main ramp is now open and it is possible to launch 2 boats at a time.

Tips: A little weed is beginning to form and some of last years growth is now under water. Someone told me the lake is still down 29-30 feet. It seems more than that to me. I was hoping for a nice breeze to come up, maybe helping the bite. It tried - but died!!

    • Water Temp: 57-64

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the lake 2 weeks ago and it was at least 20ft. plus down.Went Friday and now it's full and looking good! That last rain did the trick. We caught most of our fish in the south end on senkos and dropshot . The fish haven't adjusted to this new water level yet but will very soon and then the fun begins. If you like flippin' this lake is set up for it right now.

Tips: Try flippin' creature baits in the junk. Have fun, catch & release.

    • Water Temp: 60-63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On the water at 11am. Fished the bottom tide. Went to Mildred. Throw senkos, chatter, spinner, square bill and swim baits. Started on the outside weed towards deeper water then moved in to the bank. Found the fish near the solid tulles. Caught all fish on senkos. Only fish chasing was an 20" striper on a swim bait. Wish I hand more for you all just can't find em.

    • Water Temp: 52-54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Lauched at Lime Saddle about 6:45 am and fished till 10:30 am. Darn windy to begin with, hate it when it blows hard early morning. The wind didn't hurt the bite any, managed 14 spots today, but no large ones. Best of the 14 went right at 14", but too dark to get a decent picture. Most all other about 13", like the one in the picture. Fish were much more shallow today, all fish taken less then 25 feet, most in the 20 foot area. So odd fishing the lake when it's nearly full, can't remember where to fish from 4 years ago, so hunting new locations that hold fish well. One location gave up 5 fish today. Still lots of wood, be careful, as it rides low in the water after getting so water logged this winter. All fish taken with roboworm sculpin, loved that bait today. Fished mostly the N. Fork going towards the main lake from the west fork and a couple locations headed to N. fork from lime saddle. Pictures in Fishing Forum.

    • Water Temp: 56-60

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Launched 715am at Paradise and eaded to Columbia Cut where we had decent luck a few weeks ago. Water was muddy or very stained. We only managed an errant shaker striper while throwing lipless cranks, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and wakebaits. Decided to try plastics and jigs....big donut, nada, nuthin, zip. Moved up to Little Connection and hooked up 1 2lber on a black neon 5" senko, lost it at the boat. Moved just around the corner from the sheds at Tower and picked up a couple more shaker stripers. Went up the Moke and same result only managing one shaker striper...and that was on a senko...go figure. Moved up to Sycamore and brother hooked up a nice one slow rolling a red/orange Dandy spinnerbait through the sparse tule flats... looked to be at least 2.5 possibly 3. ...again, lost it at the boat tryin' to lip it. Moved back up to 14 mile and the rain hit us so we left about 230pm.

Tips: Not qualified nor do I even have a clue....couldn't find or entice a black bass to save our life. Don't know if anyone else had same or better or worse than we did. Sure would be nice to get a few tips. I have none to give. What happened? Any tips Cooch?? Anyone??

    • Water Temp: 60s

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: got somewhere near 40-50 fish on assorted baits fish were eating everywhere from rock, tule and mud banks. biggest was about 5 1/2

Tips: rage craws on shaky head, swimbait, drop shot, spinnerbait, crank, jig, and topwater eatin it all

    • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fish on, dude, perfect storm today lots of fish. The Serge and I did pretty good for ourselves today. Fished all over the lake still lots of debris. Guy caught 5lber in boat right when we go to our spot. Can launch at enterprize now. Pics in forums. Go fishing

Tips: Can I get a booyah

    • Water Temp: 52

Report: What a shocker, to get on a lake and feel like one has never been on it before. The water came up 70.64 feet since my last trip 3/3/16. So different, had no idea where to fish. Launched at Lime Saddle about 6:45 am fished till 10 am. Water looks real crappy, but the fish had other ideas, great trip today for me. Managed to land 13 fish, 4 largemouth, the rest spots. Large fish today a nice 18" LM, 3 others right at 14-14 1/2". All the spots were larger today, all 14" to 14 1/2". So much wood in the water, decided to just fish the general Lime saddle area. Roboworm sculpins did it today. It was like the boat gate got opened, so many boats, like it was mid summer!! Pictures in fishing Forum.

    • Report: Clear Lake this week 3/14/2015

Well, as usual I am two weeks late with this. Whether the flu, or internet service issues, these past two weeks have been a challenge. Oh yeah, I will be doing this for the coming year once more. Thank you WBass.
      Ok, on with it.

As of this morning the lake is at 7.53 Rumsey, with “full pool” being 7.56 we are there, and the lake will most likely see 8.0 Rumsey by weeks end. Water temps are in the low to mid 50’s.

So, yes, as most have heard, Clear Lake has been at its finest since the first week in February. No, the rumors of 40 lb bags were not rumors. Trust me, I’ve seen more than one guide service put the hurt on em’ to that tune, and I too was fortunate enough to have six big bags over a ten day period in mid February. We are truly spoiled when you find yourself amongst five or six other anglers, and you are complaining about a 34 lb bag.

This past weekend had some big weights and big fish weighed at the Fed event and Charlie Almassey had a GIANT this past Friday. I believe we will see some more of that short term, but with the lake becoming much more busy over the next month with the Lake Commerce, WON Bass, and FLW Costa, I suspect the big weights may become a
tad tougher to achieve. Still the fishing is quite good.

That’s the way it was, and now with this rain and wind tapering off, I suspect a more stable bite over the next couple of weeks is to come.

To point, the lake being FULL is changing everything versus the past couple of years, especially up north. The lake is starting to fish as it had back in the early 2000’s.

Swimbaits, LV500’s, TN70’s, Glidebaits, and ARigs have been the go to’s this past month, and with the first wave already up, there should be a second push with the warming waters this week. Primetime fellas, now’s the time!

      Stay tuned!

    • Water Temp: 52-55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Second time on this lake and first time by myself or without a 5mph speed limit. Launched around 0700 from Folsom Lake Marina at Brown's and headed east into South Fork. Stopped on the inside edge of the first point I came to and picked up a 1.5 spot on a Frenzy Nail. Fished up the bank from there and graphed a few, but no more bites.
Explored all the way up the fork stopping here and there and went as far back as the mud line.
Fished the point on the north side of South Fork where it emptied into the main lake and caught several there, none over 2.5.
I heard there were largies in North fork, so I went that way until I hit the mudline there and then found a good-looking largemouthie spot. Second cast there I caught a largemouth. Only another 2.5, but it made me happy and brought my weight to 11# and I called it a day.

Tips: Frenzy nail with a blue plastic and Martens madness on a drop shot worked best all day. Most fish were fairly shallow.

This is an exciting catch! Duncan Ashley caught this 5.92 lb rainbow trout near the West dam using a jerk bait. This Houdini fish got past all of its predators while traveling from the North East end of the lake to the South West end!
