Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Don't put away your dropshot as the previous report said. The dropshot can be very deadly and bring you lots of big fish if done correctly during this time of the year. If you want to catch guppies right now, go ahead and beat the banks. You can have em.

Report: Fished up river most the day and ended up with around fifteen fish to 4 lbs.Went up with the wife and she surprized me by catching five or six droppshotting. Fish were down 30 to 50 feet and hitting very litly, so u had to be on ur toes. Couldnt get a bite shallow so we fished deep and very slow, and had to watch fish finder and drop it right on them green and brown seem to do the best.
City: MODESTOTips: fish very very slow, seems liked u have to drop it right in front of them

Salt Springs Lake

Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a small club tournament Sunday-Manteca Bassin Buddies. We had about 13 boats, with several guest boats showing up. Lake was pretty full, there was a trickle going over the spill-way.
Fish weren't holding on rocks for us, all caught relatively shallow in weeds. We caught all of our fish on jigs, one on a baby senko. Others caught them on senkos, spinnerbaits, and drop-shotting. We had a winning weight of 13.90 for 5 fish (8 total fish for the day). Four other teams had between 10-12 lbs.
City: Elk GroveTips: Seemed to be schooled up a bit. If you find a fish that is active, stay put. Look for weeds off of points. Real subtle bite.

Report: Got a late start, but arrived at Putah Creek resort by 08:30. Lots of bass boats there. What a beautiful day, and there weren't any ski boats!

All of the fish were over 2.5 pounds with the majority around 3 pounds. We caught them on cranks. Chrome/black speedtraps,dc 13 and 16 timber tigers, rebel craws with chart/orange. We kept the boat in 12'-18' of water all day.
City: Santa RosaTips: Fishing was really easy today, no challenge for 2 and 3 lb fish. Strikes were fierce, so hang on.

City: San JoseTips: The fish are still in their winter pattern. They should start to stage any time now...we just need a little more warm weather. Fish slow.

Moving into the Bear Creek and way back in a cove in 10-25 ft, finding four keepers. Back to the opening of the creek, draging a jig we managed to get a 4.8 spot. Water Temp: 48-50
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: WOW! Clear Lake was almost still today. Very little wind, sunshine, and lots of good fishin'. We caught over 75 crappie in less than two hours by Kono Tayee Pier and probably caught 50 bass on swim baits and roboworms the largest being 4 1/2. They were all fat little footballs. I caught a 4 pounder with a crappie jig and 4 lb test with an 5' rod. What a fun fight. These fat bass remind me of Trinity smallmouth. What a day!
Tips: Swim baits seemed to be the ticket today.

Water Temp: 54.5
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Had to work a four hour shift so I did not get on the water till 3:00 pm and fished till dark. Since there was not alot of time I did not run alot. Much better than my past few quick trips, fish are starting to move up and then spread out. Better fish in 10-14 feet of water. Caught 6 bass and a big ole land locked salmon.
City: CarmichaelTips: Carolina rig watermelon red baby brush hog got 3 nice fish and my main line broke on the set on the 4th fish, one that I never saw. 3 on a Luckey craft CB 300 crank at dark and the Salmon ate a Stasybe 90 sp ver 2 in Ghost. Fish appeared to be scattered over flats and anywhere you could find a buch of large boulders in 8-10 foot you had a fish or two. Stayed on the main body all afternoon.
-
Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went up for the afternoon and ripped around for a while but didn't get anything so I went over by Beals point and found fish in a creek channel from 22 to 32 ft. deep suspended. I threw a 1-1/2oz. chartuese pearl white spoon out and started ripping in of the bottom. About the third rip I got slammed by a 3lb. smallie. After catching and releasing 6 big smallmouth and several nice spots on spooning and drop-shotting Basstrix shad bait fry,I headed home.
City: Sac.Tips: Although there are quite a few fish staging shallow, there are still good fish in deeper water. They seem to be suspended so try dropshotting about 3 to 5 feet up and rip a spoon way off the bottom to get their attention.

Report: Went out to the island pond with my bro...kickboats, no oars. First time we have fished this pond in years as we usually fish the lower pond. We ended up with three each. All fish were 2-3#, all healthy and fat. Caught pitching senko's, jigs, and reapers to wood. Only one came off tules.
City: Santa CruzTips: Get the bait WAY back there; most fish were holding tight to shore in cover. Practice catch & release.

Shasta Lake

Water Temp: 48-48.8
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: woke up early and noticed a significant pressure drop so read a bit and then off to the lake, gave the club guys room and went up to Hirz Bay and got in at 0650 just as the first few showed up running up stream. Air temp a brisk 34 degrees, lake at 61.5 ft down and the upper McCloud is a bit murky. motored over to the mouth of Hirz Bay, dropped the trolling motor and started throwing hid's in 109, 66, 22, 23 on 3/4-1/4 oz for 13 before 0745 and every one was a dink. I have swim baits larger than these fish. Headed south a bit and finally manage some decent fish, had 6 over two and four more dinks with the best five going a decent 11.17. The three best came on the #109. Shallowest was 19ft, deepest was 61 ft and the best five came out of about a 43 ft average. Went back to the ramp at 1145 as the first rain drops hit my head and out at 54 degrees. just a little wind out of the north and the lake went flat at 1030. most just loaded up , no resounding thumps today. Looks like we have a week or so of rain coming.
